they break off in pieces on my eyelid and are very hard to work with. Sad but I guess that's what you get for how cheap they are

Still a great deal and fun to brighten up eyeshadow with!

Just make sure you push the caps on REALLY tight and keep them in a cool, dry place, like a drawer. The caps splinter easily, and if that happens, then the pencil will dry out uber-fast. If you're really worried about it, I recommend storing them in a plastic bag with all of the extra air pushed out; it keeps mine nice for aaaages.

^Yeah, that's a good idea about the plastic bag... I keep mine in my makeup dresser drawer and always put the caps on tightly. Some of them I have never even used so I don't know if they're dry or not LOL. I think I will just go put them all in a big ziplock bag though. Thanks

I'm with you on that. Now I understand why CC had the brow powder in their clearance sale. I sadly missed backing mine up.

Neutral NYX pink lipstick rec?

Hey! I'm looking for a light(but not super pale) neutral pink by NYX, all of my NYX pink lipsticks are currently bright and just not natural looking at all(Strawberry Milk for example).

Please let me know if you know of a pretty one, I need it for days when I wanna go more natural looking

I think the new packaging makes the problem look a bit "cheap". It wouldn't bother me so much if they made the wax squared, too. The round wax just looks out of place to me.

You can find all NYX swatches here: http://www.specktra.net/forum/f217/nyx-swatches-72373/

A lot of the swatches there are mainly lip sticks.

Hope to help.

I got my Runway Collection palettes in the mail the other day. These are so much fun! Lots of colors to combine and play with.

I did a look with the purple colors from Jazz Night the other day and it was very pretty.

Today I am wearing the bright blue color from Super Model combined with some other blues from my 88 palette, also a great look, especially for summer.

I would totally recommend these palettes to anyone who feels like they want some more e/s colors to play around with but don't want to buy a bunch of single shadows, or, like me, just can't decide which ones to get.

Re: Neutral NYX pink lipstick rec?

Thalia (round lippie) is a really nice lip color. It leans more toward the mauve shade of pinks though. I find it a very versatile color.

Re: Neutral NYX pink lipstick rec?

That depends on what you mean by neutral. In my book Thalia is a pretty dark color, but then again I am so pale that Hue from MAC is not a neutral on me.

If Thalia fits your idea of what type of color you want though, you could also look at Tea Rose.

What I want is a baby pink with neutral beigey undertones, not blue, peach,or purple undertones. Just a shade that looks like a natural light pink.

I know a lot of people love NYX, but I can't seem to find a reason why. Every product I've used from them, and I've used a lot, I am completely disappointed with. I bought some more stuff from them and received it about a week ago. I hate all of it.
ssad.gif

I just end up selling everything.

Edit: also, I would not recommend buying from their website online. That last order I mentioned I bought off of their nyxcosmetics.com website. It took about a month for them to process and ship to me. And they never gave me any notice at all about why it was taking so long. I had to email them so many times. And not once did they let me know what the status of my order was without me emailing them. They didn't even give me a "your order has been shipped" notice. I was completely surprised it showed up at all.

I've never had this problem with any other "well-known" brands, or any order for that matter. Ugh.

I don't know if you want us to try to convince you that NYX does have good stuff, but if so, it would help if you could elaborate on what products you've tried and what you didn't like about it.

For me the main thing about NYX is their eye shadows - great pigmentation and a very wide spectrum of colors for a good price. If they were a domestic purchase for me I'd seriously consider building a collection.

As for the NYX site, I don't think they even ship internationally at all, and I've heard that domestic US shipping is quite pricey. Also some products are more expensive than on other sites. I really see no reason to order from the NYX site rather then from Cherry Culture. CC has a 20% off code about once a month and has always been very quick and pleasant in my transactions with them.

I've pretty much just given up on nyx products. I was just ranting my frustrations.

I've tried their eyeshadows, jumbo eye pencils, regular eye pencils, highlight/contour, eyebrow powder, lipsticks, and concealers. The main problem I have with them is that they have no staying power. Even with primers and stuff that I know work amazingly with other brands, drug store and high end.

And it was domestic shipping to California. I only bought stuff of the site because there was a sale. Bah.

See, I've had good experiences with about half of their eyeshadows and every jumbo pencil and lip liner I've tried, but everybody's different.

As for their lipsticks and glosses: well, no gloss is long-lasting, IME. As for the lipsticks: very few of my lipsticks last more than 3-4 hours, even with lip liner, before they need another application to pop up the brightness. I consider the fact that I have to reapply NYX lipsticks every couple of hours no big deal due to the cheapness, but I can totally understand why that would annoy some people.

What is ULTA's selection of NYX like? I haven't been there in a couple of years and the last time I was in it was relatively small. I've since moved and am about 10 miles away from one but I wouldn't make the trip unless they have a decent selection...
