NYX Products

^I think it depends on the Ulta but it's usually not that great of a selection. If you have a Fragrance Outlet near you, they usually have a much bigger selection but their prices aren't very good (esp since it's an outlet LOL).

Like others have said, it depends on the Ulta, but I really think Ulta overcharges for most of its NYX products. I've been the round lipsticks go for $4, the jumbo pencils go for $5, so on and so on. Still cheap, but you can get the products for half or even a third of that online.

Re: NYX Lipstick Recs for an NC40?

For someone who is NC40, I would not recommend Circe--it's nude to me, and I'm NW15! I would recommend Thalia or Rea for nudes, Indian Pink as a coral, Electra for a red, Sun Flower or NYX for orange-y colors, and Medusa or Fusion for purples. I would also look in to their glosses; Cafe Latte is a nice medium-toned nude.

For me the main thing about NYX is their eye shadows - great pigmentation and a very wide spectrum of colors for a good price. If they were a domestic purchase for me I'd seriously consider building a collection.

As for the NYX site, I don't think they even ship internationally at all, and I've heard that domestic US shipping is quite pricey. Also some products are more expensive than on other sites. I really see no reason to order from the NYX site rather then from Cherry Culture. CC has a 20% off code about once a month and has always been very quick and pleasant in my transactions with them.

Where do you find these coupons? I am always searching for them and coming up empty handed.

Usually there's a big announcement on the main page when there is a coupon, and it's even stated on the "cart" page right next to where you enter the code. They are very much in plain sight.

Edit: And if you follow them on twitter they announce the sales there too. Once I've even seen a twitter exclusive code.

Most of their eyeshadows that work decently are frosty. I'm not very into that. They also don't seem to be sheer-to-full coverage depending on how much you put on, like the type I like.

I am, however, a big fan of all their liners. I own one jumbo eye pencil in Milk and I love it. It can be kind of smudgey, but works well as a base or highlight. I also like the slim eye and lip pencils. They're comparable to many more expensive brands at 1/5 of the cost (or less). They have so many colors. Definitely win.

Does anyone know when their next big sale would be? Any good ideas, guesses? anything? lol. I might be grasping at straws here but I want to be ready for the next one. I'm still kicking myself for missing out on the last one. Apparently I was dead to the world and didn't realize they were having a sale until I was seeing everyones hauls. I'm going to be ready for the next one. haha.

totally excited, I just made a $50+ order! My first NYX haul! Still really bummed I missed all the dollar-sale extravaganza, but all the stories about shipping and getting the shipments super late made me feel a little bit better, haha.

Re: Where can I get NYX chunky pencils (Not in the internet)

There's an outlet village near me in Braintree, Essex that stocks some NYX.

In particular there two shops there that stock NYX- a place called All Wellan Good that does quite a bit (but I've only ever seen the glitter jumbo pencils there) and a shop called design room (I think) which had some of the colours, and the lip jumbo pencils, but quite a limited range.

I think all wellan good has stores in outlets across the country, that might have different stock.

I've been really sick and in hospital SO since I'm out now and still feeling rather crap, I thought some cheap retail therapy was in order and NYX is the place to go for that. ;D Cheap good quality makeup = my thing.

As much as I'd love to get some stuff from MAC, I could get a ton more from NYX as it would cost for 5-10 things from MAC and I need a LOT of therapy, haha.

I'm looking at their slim eye liners at the moment and searching the internet for swatches. However I wonder how easy they are to apply? Are they soft and creamy or are they really difficult to apply? I don't want to be tearing my eye trying to put them on. I haven't tried them before and I'm into really bright colours so if you guys have any suggestions on that either, I would appreciate it.

Also what would be some good nude Round Lipsticks? I'm having trouble deciding.

TIA

Re: Where can I get NYX chunky pencils (Not in the internet)

I've never seen NYX sold anywhere in the UK. I happily order mine online as it's much cheaper anyway. I've heard rumors NYX is going to be coming to the UK but with a huge price mark up in comparison to ordering them online. Personally, I'd rather get it cheaper and wait for it to be delivered than pay double the price for something I can have then and there.

Re: Pressing NYX Pearl Mania

I haven't bought any of them (yet) but in the NYX swatches a girl transferred the pigments from the little jars into 10g jars and said that it nearly filled it and she had to press down with the sifter so you must get quite a lot of product in those little babies. I think when I do buy them I'll put them into 10g jars with sifters rather than press them.

Eek! Yay! I just made a huge order on nonpareilboutique and shipping from the USA to UK was only $16! Not bad at all seeing as MsCuppyCakes wanted me to pay $49 for shipping. I don't think so! I'm a little upset that 4 of the lipsticks I wanted weren't in stock but I'll just wait until they are and order some more goodies. I'm so excited, this is just the pick me up I needed! I spent $89 inc shipping, which isn't at all bad I don't think. I got so much more from NYX for my money than I would have from MAC. Yay for NYX!
