anyone else purchase the kabuki??

i purchased the Quo kabuki. i got suckered in by the cute case as well & the price.. i think it was only $17? i NEVER use it. i lost it somewhere at the bottom of my traincase. it wouldn't have been a complete waste of money if MAC's 182 fit in the case, but unfortunately it doesn't.

& i totally agree with you.. it sheds like crazy & doesn't feel so nice on the face. it's nothing compared to the 182.

Quo brushes are hit & miss. i wouldn't recommend any of the following: kabuki (sheds & scratches), bronzing brush (sheds), foundation brush (not dense enough, streaks). but i swear by the blush brush, powder brush, all over shadow brush, & crease brush.

I have this one too and it sheds horribly! Anyone else had this problem or did I just get a bad brush? I have been using it to apply my MSFs because it does just give off the right amount of color, but then I have to pick the hairs off my face..lol. But it is quite like the 187, feels as soft, a little bigger though.

I also have a large e/s brush and I really like it as well.

Edit: after reading the whole thread apparently the 187 dupe just sucks...too bad because I really didnt want to have to shell out the $50 for the real 187...oh well.

Good to know...I can stop complaining now.

I bought the Quo contour brush...I did not want to shell out for the MAC one...and it's pretty good.

And totally off-topic...we need to have Sauga meet up...i know where all of you shop...I wonder if I have ever bumped into any of you at the counter or store.

I bought the contour brush today and it looks pretty promising (will update when 'I get to know it better')! I also picked up another crease brush because I love my other one so much! Quo brushes were on sale today and 10x the point when you spend $20. SCORE! I think the contour brush was $12.80 and the crease brush was $9.60.

Another note... I am not sure about the SDM in your area but mine only sells two lines with brushes (well 3 if you count Cover FX). The 2 main ones I look at are Lise Watier and Quo. To be honest I like the Quo ones better and they are cheaper. The 2 Lise Watier eye brushes I purchased (pencil brush and smudger brush) are pretty scratchy. Not really worth the investment. Although the Lise Watier crease brush was pretty good, about the same as the Quo one (only more expensive!) Just a heads up.

I bought a Quo brush set as last resort (I lost my Faces brush set and I'm still saving to buy MAC brushes) Anyway, Quo brushes are o.k. nothing spectacular. it doesnt rly matter as long as they get the job done...and they do.

I have been using Quo brushes 3-4 years now and they are a great quality drugstore brand of brushes. I recently picked up the bronzer brush and it works great. Actually I prefer these to the Lise Watier brushes. I bought a powder and blush brush from LW and found them to be quite scratchy. The Quo brushes are softer. I have the powder, blush, bronzer, large eyeshadow, and concealer brushes. They often go on sale at Shoppers.

My Skunk Brush hasn't shed since it's first cleaning? Maybe you all just got some lemons? I don't use it that often because in not a huge fan of it but it never sheds.

I have to be careful when I use it lol

Normally their brushes are super soft though, I am in love with the fan brush!

canadian ladies -- don't bother with the QUO brushes. go to pharmaplus and get some POSH brushes instead. they go for super cheap here and they're so much better.

Hey hun you're right they are so cheap! I was at PharmaPlus the other day so i decided to check them out and they are even cheaper then QUO brushes and the quality looks really, really good!!! I think the one i saw came in some red cup for storing the brushes and it was probably an xmas gift set but i couldn't believe the price and quality when i saw them!!! I didn't get any because i was in a rush but i'm definetly going back to get some!!!

On a side note, i picked up 4 brushes at Shopper's a few weeks ago with the 40% promo! My mom got some too!!! I think i have over 10 QUO brushes now and my other fave brushes are from Annabelle and those cheap gift brush sets you find at Wal-Mart during Christmas. They are like $15 w/a brush roll & i always get them for 50% off on boxing day. I swear they are amazing brushes! I get a set or two every year now! All my MAC brushes are from the holiday sets and they suck so i always use my other brushes!!

No I think they're all like that actually.
I picked up about 7 of them last time SDM had a sale (40% off!
th_DANCE.gif
) and the Crease Brush is horrible! Prickly and stiff and completely unusable.
I love all the rest tho, esp the All Over Bronzing Brush... sooo soft and big enough to properly apply my Hoola bronzer.
The fan brush is fantastic too, tho I hardly ever have a need for it.

I'm picking up the brush cleanser today, they finally got a new shipment in.. so hopefully it's good.

they have 2 "crease" brushes now. one is similar to MAC's 219 pencil brush & the other one is a fluffy blending brush. are you guys talking about the new pencil brush? i'm not a fan of that one at all. but the larger crease brush is super soft & i've never had a problem with it being prickly.

I was talking about the 'Crease Blender Brush'

Since then I've been buying Posh brushes and they're all amazing -- so much cheaper & softer!

i was at SDM last night and their christmas QUO products are out. This year they have this one powder brush..kinda reminds me of a Kabuki but with a long handle. It's selling for $25, has anyone used it? Because it's in the packaging I can't tell whether it's a soft brush or not.
