Post is obviously older....but I think I have this one. It was limited edition and around the same price. I got mine on sale for $22....it has a wood handle, golden colour and the bristles are white.
Its AMAZING....I love it so much. I usually used it with my Smashbox Halo powder foundation but recently switched it to a blush brush. It really evens out your skintone and is super soft.
Anyways, I love Quo brushes as a starter set and I also agree that some of them are scratchy [eyeshadow ones]. My fave that I use everyday is the pencil brush....I have the flat foundation brush but I think its too streaky to use for a full application. I use it to "spot" my make up on and then use a duo fibre brush like the MAC 187 to finish the job.
I haven't used the Quo version of the 187 but I DO know that its synthetic fibres are longer and the brush fibres feel less stiff than the 187....almost like its less packed. Its softer too....too soft....if thats really applicable haha. I think its also marketed as a bronzer brush.
I definately prefer their eyeshadow brushes to the rest of their collection. And if you need a cheaper angled brush for eyeliner or brows, theirs is awesome.
We have the new line out as well - the black handled ones. They're considered higher end and are made with different bristles/fibers. But again, like someone mentioned, if you want to invest in more expensive brushes, go with prestige brands like Smashbox, MUFE, or MAC.
The only real big difference is the look of the newer QUO.
Edit: So I called everywhere and literally almost NO ONE knew the difference between the two, then finally I got an answer. The old grey handled quo are all completely synthetic fiber brushes with the exception of the eyeshadow brushes that are made of squirrel hair.
The Professional QUO are made of pony and goat hair and are marketed as all natural, however, some brushes, like the foundation brush, "require" some synthetic blended in to keep its shape and higher density. If you compare the two foundation brushes, the new PRO Quo is thicker.
Hope that all helps
