Re: Revlon Color Stay Foundation

Hi, I think this is my very first post! I need a match for a NW25, but it's hard to find it

Any ideas?

Re: Revlon Color Stay Foundation

I received my email back from Revlon...they asked me for shade colors I wanted info about because they said they are discoontinuing a few shades....I wrote back and asked about Toast & Caramel and they said No they have no plans on discontinuing these shades in the Colorstay formula. They also said a few stores were asked to pull the bottles that had red caps advertising the SoftFlex so that the shelves would look more universal in all stores.

So basically since she asked what shade... ladies that use other shades may want to write and ask if their shade is being discontined. These were the only two shades I knew at the time.

Re: Revlon Color Stay Foundation

I love the Colorstay foundation. I like to use to cover only certain areas of my face, such as my forehead and cheeks. The only thing I don't like about it is the bottle, but I just bought a plastic bottle that has the push cap and poured the foundation into it so it would be easier to get out a smaller amount. For reference, I'm an nw45 and wear colorstay oily/combo formula in cappuccino.

I don't think I will be able to use this foundation as much as I really want to since 400 Caramel Normal/Dry is too yellow and the Cappuccino is too dark/reddish.

I'm NW43. I guess I'm just outta luck.

I went my local Walgreen's, and it wasn't on sale for $3. It was $13.

I can't justify paying that much for a drugstore foundation that I've never sampled...

Well...you can always return it if it doesn't work and get your money back ....and I sampled the color in the store....I pay $40 for MUFE and had to return it 4 times trying to get the right shade...store lighting does not give you a good judge of color in any store even if you apply a full face IMO...with any foundation it is trial and error...I will not buy a foundation that I could not return..

Re: Revlon Color Stay Foundation

I bought this foundation a while ago after seeing MakeUpGeekTV's youtube review of it against MAC's Studio Fix Fluid. I went out and bought it that day and ABSOLUTELY love it!

I have combination skin, but I use the Normal/Dry formula. I tend to get a little oily on the apples of my cheeks, and occasionally on my forehead and chin, but not enough to call consider it a problem (after applying foundation and powder, the oil is pretty much absorbed and is no longer an issue). My main problems are drying out of the T-zone, nose, and under eyes, so those areas are more of a concern to me, which is why I went with the Normal/Dry formula.

Dreamergirl3, it sucks you can't find the right shade to go with your skin tone! I am a SFF NC25 myself, and I have been using Revlon's Colorstay Normal/Dry in "Fresh Beige". After reading through this entire thread, I've realized it's probably to dark for my skin

, but haven't noticed because it's the summer, and I usually layer with with a heavy bronzing powder to match the rest of my body's summer tan (I don't suntan my face AT ALL, and try not to suntan my body either. Most of it is all self tanners and bronzing makeup - skin cancer runs in my family

!). Honestly, it doesn't look terribly off on my skin at all!

Either way, I'll be going out to CVS today to pick up "Buff", "Nude", and "Sand Beige" and see which one is closer to my SFF NC25 skin tone! I'll report back with my findings!

Edit:

(If anyone is considering any of these shades, do NOT judge by this particular picture! I took this with my crappy Blackberry and the lighting and color is VERY, very off to the actual lighting and color of these foundation!)

Time to do some testing!

Re: Revlon Color Stay Foundation

So I've heard that for my specific skin tone (NC35) I would probably have to mix two bottles to get it perfect
ssad.gif
.
The bottles in Canada are like .. $14.99 + tax, so two would be like .. $3x. Sounds kinda ridic, I rather buy a SFF.

I searched back a couple of pages and couldn't find it, so sorry if it's been already asked but do any of you ladies know what would match a NC40? I'm hoping I got a bit tan so I can use this foundation ! haha

I purchased both cappuccino and mahagony (on a promotion of course) and Cappuccino was a better match but Mahagony was good as well but its more neutral based. It was neither yellow or red on me and I have reddish undertones. My point is give this shade a try sounds like it might work for you.

I lovvve this foundation. It was hot, humid and rainy in nyc today and my face looked good the whole time.Thx gals for putting me on, I would have NEVER brought this on my own.

Does anyone find that the scent goes fishy after a while? This has happened with both my Colorstay and Colorstay Active light.

My search isn't working, has there been a good match for NC30, I just went from 35, found it was a little too dark
