I picked one up last night at the MAC freestanding in El Segundo. They took the email & did scan the barcode on the box, so it shows in the system (and on my receipt) that I have already obtained the free lipstick. I think this prevents people from getting dupes. However, I did buy a couple of things in addition to getting the lipstick, so I wonder if went to get the lipstick again without buying anything else, would it be a problem getting another? Has anybody tried going back for a 2nd one (to give to a friend in another state? I'm not trying to profit here...)?

When I got mine, they printed out a receipt, and checked my ID. I wouldn't be surprised if they had a list in their computers of who already picked one up, just to prevent people from getting multiple lipsticks.
Still, I can't say for sure if they would allow it, or not.

Yes.. i am so happy
i got mines a while ago in Burlingame, my mom works close to there and i have to pick her up daily. I was so scared they would tell me i couldnt have it because idk if i am in their system or not. But they ask for my name, address and email. I havent tried it yet.
I am very happy, lol, i dont have many MAC stuff.

I just got mine at the SF pro store WOO HOO!!!! My BFF is picking one up this weekend too but she doesn't wear pinks so she's going to give it to me as a back up. I LOVEEE pinks and this color is right up my alley =)

I didn't make it tonight, to busy at work and the environment right now is so terrible (Oh HAI Firestorms go awayz, Pleaz!). So I'm hoping tomorrow isn't so smoggy and I can actually stand being in the nastiness that is the central valley air quality right now, and get the fabled lippie. It's so bad right now, you don't even have to put on makeup to get a smoky eye look, just walk outside. If I do obtain the holy lotusland relic, I might even build a light shrine to my lippie and recount my holy quest to obtain and the myriad of impediments I faced in my quest for the holy Mac relic. Or not.

i got mine at FV store and i asked the MA if can my friend get one but use my name and address because it is in the system , she said NO it will show that you got it in the system under your name unless if she use her name and we will add her in the system , so i just want to clear that out that yes it will show in the system if you go back again and use you name . because they scan it when they give it to you, just like buying an item but it is free and when they scan it they ask for you name and address i guess they do that so they make sure every person get only one.
i really just want to know if it shows in system or not

I am ALWAYS treated like a piece of shit whenever I go to FV, which is why I usually just go to Nordies. I always either get ignored, or get nasty looks. I've never been treated with so much disrespect and I'm not the type of person that writes to corporate, but I was so upset with FV I actually did send a complaint saying they should improve on their CS. I went to Plaza Bonita with the printout and had no problems. HTH!

UGH so I went to Plaza Bonita to pick two up and I got mine using a friend's email addy with no problem, but when my boyfriend tried to get it, they kept helping people that came after him, so I guess after someone cut in front of him and an MA helped her, he was like, "are you f*cking kidding me?" and when that finally got their attention he told them to f*ck off and left so I only walked away with one. The only thing is I told someone on here I'd get it for her, and it's not like I'm not going to try and be like, uh, sorry I didn't get it" haha so now I'm wonding if I should try to brave FV and see if they take my printout. I know it says it expires on June 30, so if I take it on June 30 would they still honor it?

I would say try FV, even if you think the customer service is bad, because you're only picking one thing up. Also, expiration days are usually inclusive of the date, so it should be fine (can't guarantee that, though).

I'm thinking of going to the Fillmore location tomorrow....Did they ask for your name/addy when you turned in the email? Or was it more of 'show the email, get the lippie' kind of thing? Should I call Fillmore first? I really want this!!!

For those people wondering how I went about getting more than one, what I did was go to Plaza Bonita by myself (when FV was still having it's "We're not taking emails" fit) and they scanned it and asked for my name to find me in the system. The next day I sent my boyfriend to the store at FV because they started taking the email and he got me one there. They took his name and address to put him in the system and scanned the lipstick. The next day we drove out to Plaza Bonita to browse the mall and I sent him in to the MAC store there to see if I could get another one. I instructed him to just give them a different name when they asked so he wouldn't show up in the system as having already got one. Yeah, I know I'm terrible but it worked. Took his "name" and address, put him in the system again and scanned the lippie. So now I have three haha. I hope this helps anyone confused about all this.
