Well Saddam is finally dead

I understand that but the thing about Iraq is when Saddam was in power everything was so controlled. Now that there's no real force there they don't know what to do with themselves. Everyone has so much anger towards each other because of something that they didn't even do ... it's because the former power did the hating. Does that make sense?

For example, Saddam hated Shiites and killed them. He also killed Sunnis as well but his hatred was aimed at Shiites. So now you have Shiites pissed about their oppression and they want power and they're mad at Sunnis. And you have Sunnis pissed that the Shiites want power and they're mad at Shiites. Then you have fighting with the Assyrian/Chaldean Christians because half are for Saddam because he offered religious protection and the other half are against Saddam because they want politicial representation.

Yes they do have to start taking care of themselves but when it is just thrown at them it's what makes this chaos.

My understanding from your post is that the oppression is a better option?

Why can't the people of the region learn to disagree with each other without IEDs, EFPs, militia attacks, suicide bombers, etc.?

Regardless of their political/religious stance, they could resolve the differences without the violence, and simply use the US presence as a peacekeeping/law enforcement group, as has been in the past.

The choice is theirs.
