Did any of you ladies' swatch of Black Swan turn blue on you? I was really looking forward to a black with silver glitter liner but then the black turned blue. Swatched it on my hand and poof, twenty minutes later it's a dark navy blue with silver glitter. Did this happen to anyone besides myself?

Chester
Happened to me! Although, I actually like it better that it's dark navy blue.

Btw, I got my haul today. I got Black Swan (just like Chester, it looks dark navy blue with silver glitter on me) and Black Line (looks like dark olive green with gold sparkles). I passed on Undercurrent because it's a total green on me. I want a hint of blue in the teal >.<

Also, I got Cut a Caper. It's in the same color family with Strange Potion on me, but I get it anyways because I can't kiss hubs when I'm wearing a lipgloss

The brush sets are really nice too, maybe not the same quality than the full ones, but still worth checking out IMO

I got my items today and Later was a great surprise: such a pretty purple! I can't wait to swatch it over Pixie Epoxy.

My haul:
-Later and Moolight Night
-Beauties Plays it Cool and Dashing Laisie (I usually don't wear neutrals, but I fell in love with the top 3 es)
-Cut a Caper (a light version of Ever Hip. I prefer EH, but as I don't have a backup I thought it would be good to get it)
-Her Blooming Cheek. Yes, it is wearable on NW15, it needs just the right brush

The Faerie Glen was too brown on my lips, and Gone Romancin' was pink, not purple, so I passed both.

I'm very happy with everything that I got!

Ok try to ignore for a moment the fact that I obviously can't apply lipstick decently and focus on how cool this shade is!

Full Fuchsia, indoor with flash, unlined lips.

i will repeat to myself

i do not need another bright pink lipstick, i do not need another bright pink lipstick...

I haven't worn Black Swan in a look yet, but I found I can only see the "blue" in certain lights.... I have seen it, though! And my bf is the same way about l/g

See my logic above ^^

Although I'm starting to think that P&P is much more blue based, which isn't as flattering... gah, my wallet can't take the pressure!!

Bahh. Returned PIC and Style Clan. So all I'm left with is my Lord It Up Pearlglide (which I might back up I love it so much)
Once again I was unimpressed by the freestanding Mac store. The staff is just sub-par. They're unfriendly and they don't seem very informed on what they are selling. I was going to go to the counter up north, but it's the opposite direction from school.
I swatched a few things that I'd been considering but I decided to wait until the 11th when the gift sets come out. Not that I think I'll actually get any of them, but you never know.
Maybe I'll spend the $50 at Sephora for the FF...

a little, i have so many bright pinks, i love them, im telling myself i wont miss this if i dont get it, but its hard! i must stay strong!

How are the mini brush sets? I'm kind of new to MAC - and a bit of a newbie to makeup in general - and the 'Buff & Line' brush collection would be great for me since I was planning to buy three of those brushes in the normal size anyways. I remember hearing that some of the previous years' small brushes weren't very good though. They are brushes I'd be using daily ... would I be better off just buying the full-sized ones?

I'm wearing shades from the Reelers & Rockers palette for the second time and I have to say I'm exceptionally happy that I gave in to my gut feeling on this one. I keep getting compliments on my eyes. My concerns over the colours appearing too frosty seem to have been unfounded, because they aren't at all. I've barely touched my PIC colours so far, but I'm hopeful that I'll be just as happy. Also wore TFG this weekend and was very happy with it as a neutral. It's quite different than Blankety, my other fall back neutral colour.

I have yet to use my Undercurrent liner because I am obsessed with Black Swan! I'm wearing blue brown pigment(I just bought it. Can you believe that?) with black swan winged out. It's amazing. It's effortless and actually a lot easier to do a cat eye with than the liquid liners from Felines. So glad I have two. I'll try and reach for Undercurrent tomorrow, though.

Ok I may help you a little here. At least try

This is my first bright pink lipstick. Actually this is my first bright lipstick at all, so IRL you could find it not so special as I do.
Plus this is permanent at PRO, so you don't have to rush, you can get it anytime.

Better?

It seems to me that any pearlglide I wear looks different depending on the light. I'm wearing Black Line today and it really does looke black with gold at my desk, but in the bathroom it's olive with gold. I love it regardless. I do keep that in mind when I reach for these liners vs a kohl liner though.

Why didn't I get a cloth bag??

I bought A Wish Come True, Golden Crown and Follow Your Fantasy eye shadows and as much as I like them - I'll be really annoyed when the top tartan pattern wears off. I bought those shadows for the additional shades marked onto them. Otherwise they are just basic shadows - but big.

Questions to those who have already seen the collection IRL:

Is Her Blooming Cheek haul worthy?

I don't have any blushes THAT bright before. And is a bit worried that I might not be able to pull it off (NC20).
hmm.gif
Don't be afraid of these insanely bright blushes like HBC, they suit everyone, from the palest to the darkest!

It's going to be really pretty when put on with a light hand. Just a tiny touch with your brush and that's enough.

Please don't waste your money on them. They're scratchy and bad quality. I just saw and felt them in person today at a pre-launch party... I thought the previous ones were bad, these ones are even worse

The bag is, however, kinda cute.

I went there with Cut-A-Caper, Courting Lilac on my 'wishlist' but when I tried them on, I don't think they look good on me. In the end, I only bought Passing Fancy, Black Line and The Swinging Violets Mineralize kit. I wanted Gone Romancin' but it's sold out.

Although the mini brushes are ok, there are drugstore brand brushes I've found that are softer and nicer in my opinion. Ecotools, for one.

So, I paid a visit to the MAC store today and one of the MUA told me that the next part- minis- are to be released in store this Thursday. I wasn't too sure about that so I asked another MUA there and she confirmed. That leaves me just over 2 days to collect enough $ to purchase the pigment mini set I want.

Wait- does that mean they come out online tomorrow? I haven't ordered Sir Teddy yet, so maybe I'll just wait till these go online.
