Chanel Summer 2011

Michelle - beautiful pic! The glossimers are said to be like light sticks, and that's what they are in your pic!

I swatched the Dior bronzer (01) today and it turned orange on me, but nearly everything does

I don't try the glosses too, but I try the lipsticks sometimes. Liquids feel more gross. So the dior bronzer is more orange than the starfish? I don't like it if its too orange too.

Yeah, I definitely can't do orange bronzers, either. That is why I am loving the idea of the bronzing blushes -- very natural. I have heard that the Dior Honey Matte is a good straight up bronzer -- maybe I should check that one out as well? If I hit up the Dior counter this weekend, I'll try them and report back!
I would love to ask you ladies what your favorite brushes are for applying bronzer? I have just been using my skunk brush to use my Bronze Rose and the EL Sea Star blush. I am interested in those tapered bronzing brushes -- not sure which ones are the best??

I use a large flat brush, something like the one from Chanel that Cafe Makeup recommends. Mine is much larger and I really want to pick up that brush.

Her review of the quad is out. Her comparison swatches of the dark green in the quad, duos khaki-clair and khaki-discrete are very helpful.

Never hear of that dior bronzer, maybe we don't have it. Let us know if you check it out.

I've been either using my MAC 187 skunk or the Eco Tools bronzer brush. I never used to wear bronzer so I don't really have much to choose from for "bronzer" brushes. These seem to be working OK so far.

If the blush is pigmented, I use the 187 or a fan brush. If it's easy to apply, I like the 168 or the 116 brush. For bronzer (if it's not too dark) I like the 138 a lot. hth :)

Bis -- I would think PP would be sheer on pigmented lips (maybe Elegant can chime in). Mine aren't very pigmented -- so I do get a rosey color. I prefer layering these 2 glossimers over lipsticks -- the effect is beautiful.

On my pigmented lips, it shows up a very light baby rose pink

You're so cute! It arrived - very late today. Gardenia so pretty on & I topped it off with Pink Peony - PRETTY!!!!

So glad your Gardenia came and you love it. I've been putting PP on top of everything and love it! I even put it on top of Chance for some reason (even if it is a glossy lipstick that doesn't need it) and it is just gorgeous over everything!

Gardenia really is so pretty on. I know, I do the same thing with PP because it just kinda perks everything up in a pretty pink way. I was so afraid that fedex was never going to show up. I've had so many delivery problems the last 2 months.

^^The delivery problems can be so frustrating. One time I had a Fed Ex delivery take 3 1/2 weeks to get to me. Hellooooo -- what is the problem??
I was wearing my Bronze Rose and PP gloss and I went to go get my little one from preschool and she looked up at me and said "Mommy, you're pretty" Melt.My.Heart. Hopefully it it working for the $$ I spend LOL

Do I need to add Gardenia to my "May" purchases?

How would you describe it? It seems to look different on every blog I've seen!

For those of you waiting for this collection to come out -- here's another pic of the 2 glossimers I got (Aurore -- top, Pink Peony -- bottom). It is taken in direct sunlight so you can see the gorgeous micro-shimmers:
oh wow!! these are so freaking beautiful! what a lovely picture.... i'm trying not to look because i really can't afford these!

^^ they are hard to resist. ;) Michelle, gardenia is a warm rose, with silver shine but it is not frosty. Elegant, glad you got the lipstick. Enjoy! Those of you with PP, is it close to rose dentelle, or whatever the pink gloss from last fall is called?

I know, this thread is dangerous! I am a sucker for glossimers. The good thing is -- even with the Chanel LE glossimers -- they usually stick around on the website for a while

MisQQ -- I don't have Rose Dilemma -- but I think from the swatches I've seen that it is a cooler pink than Pink Peony. I saw it described as "blue based rose pink"
PP seems to have a slightly warmer pink cast to it, but is also described as a rose pink. It really does give a beautiful look and brightens any pink lipstick I've worn it with!

^^ Thanks, it's very helpful. I will know when I see it in person, but I'm so impatient.

Still no sign of any summer collections when I was in the department store today.

^^ I think Glossimers feel smooth and not sticky. Some are more pigmented than others. Magnifique is a gorgeous pink and is one of the most pigmented I own. Lately, I have been loving Waterlilly, Mica, and Pink Peony to layer over lipsticks. They are truly addicting
