Just wanted to bump Miss QQ's wonderful comparison photos of Byzantin with some other Chanel reds....

That is a lot of money! I guess they want it more as a collector's item, and aren't really into makeup.
Here are the swatches of the l/s. The colours here are more true than what I put up last night. RB has blue and red shimmers which I'm not sure if you can see them in the pics, but in real they are rather visible. Maybe it is close to Paris RA, which is a pink red, but Paris is not as intense and has no shimmers.

elegant - the lipstick is gorgeous on you! Thanks for sharing, good job! I took lip swatches before but they always turned out weird and I didn't like them so I gave up trying to take any.

Nora -- Happy Birthday to your baby turning 5! I hope she has a wonderful day! You're right -- 5 does seem so grown up!
We didn't go anywhere too exciting for the wedding -- Salt Lake City, UT. The venue was gorgeous -- it was an indoor garden -- I wish it was at a beach, though!!

Thanks Lou! It is such a cute, easy style. If my hair was longer, I would totally wear it! Of course, my girls wanted the front part of the hair braided (I think it is called a headband braid) -- and that combined with the buns took me an hour to do all 3 of them. I should start charging LOL!

MissQQ -- It does look like water in the background of the pic of the wedding -- but I think it is just the light playing off the walls of the indoor garden we were in. I so wish it was at a beach! The wedding was at a beautiful indoor atrium/garden. We all had a great time, but I am glad to be back home (except for getting caught up on laundry).

Almus -- yep -- I made it to the closest Nordies and they didn't have the Fall collection in yet. I was SO bummed!! But it was fun looking around Nordies -- they have gorgeous clothes and shoes. I was just pressed for time and couldn't spend too much time there. I hope you can get your hands on Aurora -- that is too bad they haven't gotten the Dior collection there yet!
Thank you about my daughter's hair -- she is 5 and has a ton of hair! It is super long and so fun to play with I live vicariously through all of my girls' hair!

If any of you hear of free shipping codes on Chanel.com, let me know. I need to place my order, but don't want to pay shipping Maybe they will have one on Wednesday when they release the Byzantine collection?? I can't wait to get my Fall/Byzantine loot!!

I'm such a chicken - I can't get the courage up to post pics of my face on the net! Also, I'm a really bad photographer when it comes to snapping pics of my lips, eyes, etc. - I've unending admiration for all the bloggers out there who supply us with their beautiful pics!

Michelle - That really looks like water lol. Great that you are back too. You are good at doing your girls' hair, I think not everyone has the talent and nimble hands to do it well.

Etole RC looks beautiful - not as brown as I thought it would be. Looks gorgeous on Sabrina @thebeautylookbook too. It looks like a deep rose in the pics.

I likewise saw Etole reviewed on Temptalia today and I'm definitely in love. I adore those sort of rich, plummy shades, so sign me up for that one and Rose Ecrin.

Kinda confused about what the lipsticks look like now between the pictures and the descriptions on different sites. Sabrina calls Etole "plum brown" and Karla calls it "mauvey rose". Plumetis is decribed as "nude pink-peach" (which implies some brown or beige to me) by Sabrina and "muted blue-pink" by Karla. Chanel's official descriptions, from Karla's sneak peek chart, were "plum brown" for Etole and "peach beige" for Plumetis, more in line with Sabrina's descriptions...and swatches.

I think the colors in Karla's swatch pics may be off because I remember Giggle looking more brown irl, like this older picture on her site:

Oh, I'm so happy the quad and blush are perm in the US! My bf and me are planning to go to the US for a vacation next year, so I might pick that up then!

I just love Karla's swatches! But I think describing colours can vary vastly from person to person.

Thanks Gail! Loving the look of Plumetis l/s with the Pampille glossimer. Looks like it would go perfectly with the Rose Ecrin JC. Like I don't have enough nude pink lippies (I just can't stop). Etole looks gorgeous also! I am doomed . . .

^ I agree because Plumetis is not that pink! It is def. more of a slight pink toned slight browned nude . Looks just like it does in my pics of it.

^^ Yep, exactly what I thought from your pic -- I went back and looked at it and thought it was much more in line with Sabrina/Chanel than with Karla.

^^ Definitely! And Etole is a brown'ish' rose color - not what I would call mauve, but it has a healthy dose of deep pink in it........almost a brown-berry color.....don't know if I'm helping or hindering.....

Nora, I forgot to say congrats on your daughter's birthday - that's a milestone one. Hang in there! My younger one turned 18 in March, and I'm not sure where that time went! Seems like they were little for about a month!

Karla and Christine's swatches are making me reconsider Etole--it looks MUCH lighter than I thought it would, and of course on me it'll be much much lighter. Like I just said in another Chanel post, if I've learned anything it's that I HAVE to assume any Chanel swatches are a few shades lighter on me. Ah well. Then again...Braise looks beautiful, and I bet it would be stunning over Rivoli.

On another note, tried out the JC's and I now know I must stick with Tarte as far as blushes are concerned. SA applied Espiegle on me around 11:30, it's 2:00 and completely and utterly gone. >_<
