Debi.. that polish looks stunning on you.. I am considering Peridot but I have no luck with Chanel polishes -- they usually chip off in a day or so. I am wearing CD - Aloha.. and wow! that clear coat is like shellac.. love love love it !!

April.. so nice to see you around again. I myself have been awol for a few weeks travelling. Now I can work my fanny off until I leave again in August. lol.

Sadly it chipped in less than 2 days so that really makes me angry. I will keep them and use them for special times when I want my nails looking awesome for a very short time! But I won't be buying anymore. For that price they ought to last at least a full 7 days! I even had Seche Vite on. What a pity. :(

I don't know if anyone here can answer, but I am considering the blush from this collection (I bought the Topkapi quad and Peridot nail lacquer) but I think it might be really close to Warm Berry baked blush by Black Radiance. Has anyone who has seen both of these products got an opinion on any similarity?

Debi - it's a shame the np chips so quickly on you too. They last 1 or 2 days on my fingers. But I always buy them because the colours and finishes are so unique. I should try and stay away from them..

HG - I almost caved for Aloha. Every time you rave about it I want to run out and buy it. Can't wait to hear your reviews on the quad, ls and blush.

Internetchick, I'm not familiar with that blush. Sorry. Hopefully someone else on here is. Debi, that's a bummer. FWIW the MUA nail board does not like Seche tc with Chanel polishes. I've seen people on there recommend bc/tc by Chanel, Zoya, OPI Nail Envy, Orly Bonder, CND (Creative Nail Design) Stickey, SH (Saly Hansen) Insta-Dry, and Poshe for Chanel polishes, so if you have any others it might be worth experimenting a little to see if any of them work better for you. Also, I read on the MUA nail board that letting the last coat of polish dry for 15 minutes before applying the tc helps. That was reportedly a tip from Chanel in a magazine.

That sucks that the polishes last 2 days! I've never tried Chanel polishes before though so I still want Peridot :)

I wore Peridot last week and it lasted about 4 days without chipping. I've tried a million different brands of polish and have yet to find one that lasts a week without chipping. Peridot is such a unique color, I definitely think it's worth getting.

Exactly! Mine didn't come with the booklet too. I was puzzled and thought maybe those shipped to my country don't have, or I didn't look carefully when I open the box so I missed it.

So much for that theory. Oh well, I guess if we can't figure out placement with those shades we shouldn't be spending that much on an eyeshadow quad in the first place.

I emptied the box, shook it and looked in it when I opened it but there was no booklet, could have been useful to me as well as I'm useless at applying eyeshadows!

Very good to know! Thank you for the update! This has been my experience with Chanel polishes as well. They are very pretty on, but they last maybe 1-2 days. I had given up buying them a while ago, but I did cave and get the yellow one (I think that it is called mimosa) for summer. It is the prettiest yellow polish that I could find, but it only lasts one day before chipping.

My order just came. I haven't properly tested everything but here are some initial impressions. Rouge JC is extremely pigmented. I used my 187 to just stipple it onto my face and boy it's bright. Topkapi - I only tried the gold so far but I love it. Really pretty and yellow based. I have such a hard time with yellowy shades. They don't always show up on me. I guess because I have so much yellow in my skin already. The Braise gloss- I tried it and at first I thought it looked like Unity or Spark. I used to have these but have since used them up so I can't compare it. But I was thinking Braise was a miss because it is so sheer. But when I put on the Rouge blush it was just the perfect complement to the brightness of this blush. Epatant Illusion d'ombre - Love this color! I love the brush it comes with. I think this will make a fantastic liner color. I was worried this color would be too close to the 4th color in the Les Perles Quint. It is very close but the Les Perles color has a pink shimmer to it and Epatant has a more silvery color and has more sparkle. The color was set a little bit away from the edge of the jar. I was worried because my box arrived quite warm but the it feels alright (has the gel consistency that others have mentioned). I do worry that it may have melted. Or blush is possibly a miss for me. It is not really showing up. I may have to try a different brush. Khaki Platine eyeliner is pretty but I haven't tried it on yet. The Rose Platine is definitely rosy next to the khaki. As for the nail polishes, I haven't tried them yet but they look beautiful. I got all 3 of the new ones. I just polished my nails a few days ago with Chanel Morning Rose (no chips so far). I don't know if I should change yet. I can't decide which one to try first.

Sorry, I can't do swatches or take pics. I just lost my camera and I'm too busy buying makeup to worry about replacing it right now.

In my honest opinion, you can skip the shadows. Epatant caused an allergic reaction so I am a bit put off by that, but honestly it's not a must have. The quad is gorgeous, though and I think it would look great on you. For the Byzance collection, that red lipstick is calling me, but I swore off red lipstick after buying Mufe's Moulin Rouge because it's perfect. This Chanel red is tempting, though. The red blush also looks great, but I have Mounia by Nars that I really don't reach for. The gold highlighter looks good, but I want to be sure it will show on my skin first. I don't want it to be too subtle. There's no fun in that.

Thanks for the rundown. I'm funny about those cream shadows as well. SO GLITTERY... not good. I ended up with the red lipstick anyway... right after I put up my post on the blog! I chose overnight shipping. Such a sucker.

Damn shame!

Now I'll have the whole collection. I cannot WAIT to use the red blush. I can't tell you how many ideas I have in my head. The gold I think will end up looking best when used WITH the red blush. I'm not only going to use it as a highlight... but as a lowlight as well to help 'cut' the cheeks. I'll show you when I get it.

IMPATIENTLY WAITING!!!!!

[/quote] You actually just help to remind me of a big problem I have. Sometimes I draw a complete blank when I am trying to put a look together. What always stumps me is red blush. I love it, but I never know what to do with my lips(and to a lesser extent, my eyes). I make everything else really boring. There has to be more that I can do besides bare looking eyes and nude lips, right? That's why I don't reach for my Mounia blush by Nars and I am hesitating on buying this Chanel blush. I need help!

I just finished making myself up with the Topkapi quad. I did the bronze all over the lid with the dark brown in the outer v and crease and then I added a little bit of the gold to the inner corner. Epatant on lower lashine. I really like it but I'm wondering if I really need the Prelude quad now. I'm off to Macy's to exchange some clothes. I hope they have the Prelude quad so I can at least look at it in person.
