I wore the prelude quad today and I really love it. So subtle and pretty. I admit, I was worried until I actually threw in the deep purple. That made the look come together. I had the lightest shade on the brow, and the two taupe colors on the lid and the deep purple in the crease. It seemed like the two taupes were blending together and were indistinguishable. Somehow, adding the purple just brought them out. I have to play around with it more. I probably won't use those two together again. The texture is great and I looked made up without it being too loud. It still can't beat my Lilium quad, though. :haha:

You actually just help to remind me of a big problem I have. Sometimes I draw a complete blank when I am trying to put a look together. What always stumps me is red blush. I love it, but I never know what to do with my lips(and to a lesser extent, my eyes). I make everything else really boring. There has to be more that I can do besides bare looking eyes and nude lips, right? That's why I don't reach for my Mounia blush by Nars and I am hesitating on buying this Chanel blush. I need help!

If I'm going to use a strong blush, the only other thing that might be strong on my face is the brows. Unless I'm doing a concept, I will focus on the cheeks for a wearable look. I always end up with a nude or soft lip.

I intend to use the rouge blush as a contour and the gold as a highlight on fairer skin tones. On medium to darker skin tones... the blush will go up through the temples, and the gold will go on the apples of the cheeks.

I'd also love to pull the gold through the browbone and across the tops of the cheeks for highlight... with just a little red on the apples of the cheeks.

OR blend the two and create a blush color... or blend them with something else and crease something else. So many possibilities!

HG, it is good to hear from you too. I have been tracking your suggestions in the other threads as well.

I love the Rouge JC but it does take a light hand. My grandmother used to wear a red blush that I think might have been Chanel "back in the day". That memory played a big part in my decision to purchase this. The Byzantine l/s..well, I am must a red lippie ho so I knew it would be mine. LOL

Debi.. that polish looks stunning on you.. I am considering Peridot but I have no luck with Chanel polishes -- they usually chip off in a day or so. I am wearing CD - Aloha.. and wow! that clear coat is like shellac.. love love love it !!

April.. so nice to see you around again. I myself have been awol for a few weeks travelling. Now I can work my fanny off until I leave again in August. lol.

April.. lolol.. I had the same nostalgia about the Red Byzance blush when I saw it.. granny had one the same shade of red as well as a lippie which was made (omg.. I still remember!) by Tangee.. and it was called Natural.. and it was a bit waxxy with a slight corally pink tinge.. the colour of the Hibiscus Bloom ls by LM.. and it was such a treat when she let me wear it.. lol.

I think that's why I bought so many HB.. lol.

oh I also got a YSL Hibiscus at the same time and found that the colour is almost exact .. it's the texture which is so different!

OMG...Tangee! How badly do I date myself if I tell you I remember that? And just today I was thinking that Rouge and Or reminded me of a blush and highlighter set I had in the 80's. I'm struggling to remember who made it but I think it was Coty. I loved that thing but let's just say that thankfully my application skills have improved significantly since then.

Hope you don't work your fanny off out there but I will gladly donate half of my ever expanding one if you need it.

Queen of Snark - I just saw your swatches. Did you get the quad too? The blush looks really wearable but now I'm wondering if it is very much like the pink side of Mac Two Virtues. This is another one of my favorite pink blushes.

Elegant--LOL! No lemons, but it was 11:00, already 95 degrees out (!), and I was pretty grumpy trying to get the light/angle right. That pic was like take 20. >_>

Latte-I didn't get the quad, but I picked one up for a CP I'm doing. The colors looked pretty dupeable to me, and the only color in it I liked was the pinky-purple-brown (the darkest color). Joyeuse and Blossom I'd definitely say are better suited for the fair folk, but RT was surprisingly universal. I thought it'd be way too cool but it applied warm. That's what I'm loving about Chanel's JCs, they seem to mold with your skin tone and enhance rather than distract.

Finally got my Byzance items today.

The person that bought them for me arrived here on the 30th but only managed to meet up with my friend Sunday night. Because we're all busy people she only managed to bring me the items today. It was a long, anxiety-filled wait but my beautiful make up items are finally in my hands. I haven't touched Topkapi yet and have swatched the other items very lightly. My friend and I are going to swatch and photograph everything next weekend so she can write a review on her blog, therefore I want to keep everything in pristine conditions until then.
I was really happy to find out the lipstick and blushes are warmer than I expected. Perhaps they only run warm on my very warm skintone, but I'm glad that's the case. I was also a bit afraid the lipstick might not look good on me because fuschia really isn't a colour that suits me, but fortunately my natural lip colour brings out the red in it so it actually looks really well.

I'm pretty cautious as well. It's not exactly easy because not only do I live in a very sunny country, I also live half a mile away from the beach, but I definitely try my best. I like my skin the way it is, plus I don't want to develop skin cancer and would like to delay aging for as long as I can.

Hi girls! So happy everyone is loving everything! So far from Fall I have Peridot (ADORE), Graphite (like), Khaki Platine (like) and Rose Ecrin (love).

I'm going crazy over the Byzance collection! Does anyone know if it's available in Canada yet and if so is it only at the Chanel Boutiques or is Holt Renfrew carrying it as well?

Shontay... get in here RIGHT NOW! The Byzantine Lipstick just got here (they were NOT kidding about overnight shipping) and OH MY FREAKIN' GAWD! It's a gorgeous shimmering red. I think I'm getting one for a giveaway. It's STUNNING. One of the SA's from the Chanel Boutique just called me and I told her that I'd let her know if I needed to get another piece or two to giveaway.

I'm going to have to call her back.

I finally got my Byzance quad today!

Yes, the colors are all gorgeous. I did the silvery taupe color on the lid, the bronzey brown in the crease, and the dark brown in the very outer corners and the outer part of my lower lashline with a brown liner. I used Rose Ecrin JC on the cheeks and MAC Creme Cup l/s with Mica glossimer on top. Love! I tried to get a good pic -- but the lighting is off right now. It was definitely worth the wait
