It was the first time I asked to see anything this time, but my MUA said it happens all the time people ask to choose the product themselves. I told her that I always have felt weird and therefore didn't ask, and she laughed at me - in a nice way. She helped me to choose the most beautiful MSF Pearl and a GG with a lot of gold. She was extremely nice about it.

I wore GG today and I'm in love with this products, which is strange because normally my mineral products don't get any love - I buy them because they're pretty but then find I can't do anything with them. But now I want to get back and get more MES!
Any recs for MES for brown-eyed girls? (Brown-greenish, that is.) I feel drawn to FG, but am not sure about it.

I'm interested in getting Goldstone.. I'm not exactly sure how to wear it though. How does everyone use it? Just the outer part as a bronzer? ect..? thanks in advance for your suggestions! I'm nw15/20 by the way.

Asking to see isn't like you are toughing it or opening it. They can be seen through the packaging so I do not see an issue with it because each mineralize product is unique.

^^ I agree, There are only a few things, like Mineralize stuff, that I will ask to look at all of them for the best one out of the bunch.

I don't think there's anything wrong with asking, I just myself don't feel comfortable doing it. But I'm just weird and anti-social like that.

I'm a brown-eyed and I love Dark Indulgence! :) I also got Smoked Ruby and Golden Gaze. I think brown eyes can handle any colour, at least I feel every colour looks good with my brown eyes, I love them for that reason! :) So yes, Faux Gold can work beautifully colourwise, but as far as the texture goes...I wasn't feeling it. It was the one I was going to get, I thought it looked wonderful in swatches. But in person when I swatched it, it felt odd, kinda rough. I don't know if we got a bad batch of MES here in Finland, because I hated most of them, they were so ugly I couldn't believe they were on sale. Gritty, patchy, horrible dollar store crap. But everyone here seems to love them, so I guess they have been good elsewhere (or then I'm just nuts and cannot see the beauty ;)).

You can try to get MACs Artifact PP which has been DC'd but some counters still might have it, or perhaps you can swap for it? If not, Benefit Stiletto is basically the same color and I believe Estee Lauder has a Creme shadow that is burgundy as well.......
OOh, or if you really wanted red it up you could grab MAC paint in Flammable. YUMMY!

So yesterday my Smoked Ruby creased after a few hours with UDPP and a NYX burgandy (I forgot the name - and I didn't even use much for fear of creasing, but the color is so pretty) metallic jumbo eye pencil under it. I tried it out again today with MAC Raven eyeliner (which looks just like Smoked Ruby I might add) all over the lid and under lash line on top of UDPP and it has yet to crease after three hours. I didn't want to use Painterly paint pot or anything like that because I wanted to keep it dark so...if MAC comes out with a PP similar to this shadow I'm getting it.

Thank you!
When I swatched the MES at my counter, I noticed that they feel very different. Some were really smooth, some were gritty and somewhat - don't know, dry feeling? The FG I swatched felt smooth, as did most of the black-based colours. I was really astonished that I love them, because I never love MES. Maybe there are differences in quality! Christine was annoyed about the fading and fallout, and I didn't experience any of that.
Smoked Ruby would be a step out of my comfort zone. I never wear reds and can't imagine how to tone it down for a daytime, office-save look...

I'm back from my Wedding week in Vegas! Since the store is pro in Ceasars I was able to swatch and buy a few days before my wedding. I freaked out thinking everything would be gone. I called ahead and she said everything was there. I got to the store and she was like "Are you the one that called?" There was tons of everything left, I was so surprized. I walked to the MAC store with a purpose! lol I was SO excited to see this collection.

Sorry this post is so long. I am still on a Wedding high and its my b-day today as well (which as you get older its not so great anymore haha) I was excited to tell everyone bout my hauls. It was an amazing Wedding day! I am still on cloud nine, I love my hubby so much...I get to call him that now! Yay :)
WOW!! Glad you had fun and such a great haul. You got a lot of cool goodies and a new hubby:) I also love the big Sephora there.

The MA at my counter was so lovely when I explained to her that I was after the Pearl MSF with the most red in the centre! We must have gone through 20 or so MSFs before we found one with a huge red nipple lol :) I was surprised that there were so many MSFs and MES left, but she said they got in 50 of each :O I was shocked haha

I got...
Clarity mes- I actually think this is one of my favs! It's SO stunning! I love the multicolor shimmer. It's just so awesome! Liba was so right on this one...as I knew she would be ;) I got one with not as much black in it, but it still has just enough. And I can also put it over a darker base
Hint of Sapphire mes- So pretty, its all I was hoping for. It has a good amount of pink and blue veining so I get this pink blue color with a tinge of purple. LOVE LOVE IT!
Unsurpassable mes- This color is bonkers! I picked one with both green and blue veins. Liba wasnt kidding when she said you can get like 4 diff types of colors from this. Kinda wish I wouldnt have gotten one with not as much blue though. Theres quite a bit.
Golden Gaze mes- What more can you say? It's the perfect gold!
I was actually thinking maybe the mes's will work well over Too Faced glitter glue primer? Esp for colors like Clarity. If so I think I might pick it up. What do you think? Also cause I really wanted to get some pigments from Illamasqua but was worried about glitter fallout.
Gem of Roses l/s- Its sooooo pretty! no wonder it got such rave reviews! It's actually quite pigmented on my lips.
Lush Ambur l/s- nice nudey color, it too shows up pretty well on me. Nothing amazing but I still like it

Then I went back the next day and picked up...
Crystal Pink MSF- This was my fav out of them. My By Candelight broke so thats apart of the reason I got it. It is pretty frosty so I use a very light hand. I put it over my blush for my wedding and it gave a soft pretty glow. Pearl reminded me of my Triple Fusion MSF and I have enough pink cheek colors to not get Rose Quartz.
234 Brush- I got it cause you guys have said it works well with the mes's which it does. Pat with one side and blend with the other, love it. And its so soft!

I wanted to get more mes but felt these were my must haves. And hopefully the others will be around for a while. I am thinking Jades Fortune and Rare Find still (pale, light brown eyes, dark hair, yay or nay?). I was trying not to over do it on MAC since Vegas has that huge Sephora. I got a few Mufe Aqua Creams (which I was messing with yesterday with my mes's and they work VERY well with them) I got the blue and green one. Got the blue and purple liquid glitter liners from Stila, I still want the green/teal one, they were sold out. The purple makeup bag from Urban Decay. A Kat Von D set, it had the True Love palette, a lipstick, eyeliner, and two primers for 54$, it was a great deal. A Sephora brand lipstick (which I dont think I'll be doign again, they dont taste good at all LOL) and a lipliner brush. I'm so glad I got one of these! It's great for all my pesky lipsticks like Playing Koi. It's easier to build up the colors. Coach Poppy Rollerball (couldnt afford a bottle) Oh and the sweet girl at the MUFE area gave me a sample of the MUFE HD foundation, I cant wait to try it! I spend way too much money but its my wedding present lol

Yeah you must be right right about the differences in quality. Too bad though, it means everything has to be tested first before buying it. At least all the blackened colours have received good reviews all the way, and if the FG you tested felt the same, go for it. :)

Smoked Ruby would be wonderful as an eyeliner. Just a thick line on the upper lash line with lots of mascara. Simple and elegant, yet interesting. You could wear it as a daytime look for sure. Maybe that way you could try out new colours? And I don't find SR that red anyway, it's more like a burgundy-brownish-blackish colour that has red tones to it, and might flash red when light hits it. But it's definitely not a bright in-your-face-get-out-of-the-office-kinda red. :)

Thank you so much for posting all of your SP looks!  This one is beautiful.  I was wondering what you use to apply the MES (brush, finger, foam tip applicator, etc?).  I have been testing different techniques trying to decide which one works best.

[/quote] Thank you so much! ;) I tend to use brushes, I have several (read: millions of) Frueline brushes - I may be spelling this completely wrong as I haven't ordered for a long time. I think they mainly do brush sets, but they are so soft and dense. They do a flat shadow brush style but in lots of sizes, so that you can use a large flat one for a base, a medium for unto crease/blending, down to very small flat shadow brushes which you use for picking up small veins or doing your crease only, etc. Hope that helps a little ;) If I am in a rush then it's fingers all the way lol
