I recently did my makeup demo at my local MAC counter, so I thought I would share my experience with all you lovely people! =]
I handed in my application last Wednesday afternoon. As soon as I handed it in, the manager pulled me aside and I had a little interview with her. She asked me the usual stuff like how I would deal with multiple customers at the same time, why I feel I am an asset to the company ect. And then she ended the interview by scheduling me for my makeup demo the next day! I was both excited and kinda nervous about it
So yesterday afternoon, I went in for my makeup demo. I had my friend come with me to be my model, and I was instructed to give her a look appropriate for everyday wear. The MA provided me with some brushes and I began my makeup. After that, I was told to use three more products and turn it into a night time look. I asked my friend what she would want for a more glamorous look and she told me red lips, which TBH, I kinda got excited about lol
After it was all done, I had a little interview with the MA who was overseeing my demo. I got a lot of positive feedback (foundation matched perfectly, my technique was on point, my interactions with the customer were great, and she appreciated my knowledge about sanitation). The few negatives were she wished I had extended the eyebrows out a bit more, one top lip was slightly more round that the other, and my station could have been more organized. But all in all, I got the impression that I did a good job.
I went into the interview hoping for the best, and I really don't know how anything could have happened to make me feel more happy about it other than being hired on the spot! lol
