MAC - Ice Parade and Dazzlespheres Discussion

I have a green-grey eye shadow called "Free to Be" as part of a quad and now that same name is a coral shade in their Pro lineup. Looking at the photos that were posted of the palette, there isn't anything I can see that really looks like the original Illegal Cargo, so I'm thinking that, yes, they recycled the name. It's annoying enough that that happens at all, but at least if the name were "Hot Pink" or something descriptive, I could understand. Why on earth does Mac reuse names when they aren't really tied to the colour to begin with? Do their product managers have very limited vocabularies?
I think the 179 brush mix up was worse...
What was the 179 mixup? I'll be picking up the cool eye palette, the cool face kit, all the brush sets, the pink lipbag, the red lip and nail kit, and at least two of the eye bags. Whew! Plus the things I want from the other sections like the blue pigment set and the coral and pink dazzleglass sets. Run, wallet, run!!

I have two metal stacks and some of the colors are a weird texture. But some are pigmented and easier to use, you just need a little bit which is nice. Then you got the chunkier ones that are hard to work with. I usually pat those on top of other shadows, and usually when used wet they smooth out. My biggest problem is the bottom of each container start to crack.

ot: -I have a purple/pink metal stack. I got it mostly for the purples but thier not really colors I use much, so I'm considering the purple stack. The colors in it look more like colors I'd use.
-I def want the pink dazzleglass set as I LOVE dazzleglasses. Thier mostly perm but I dont mind that. Considering the coral one too.
-I use my cool palette from last year barely at all. So I'm considering this one, depends on swatches. I think the packaging is so cool!
-The red in the nail and lip bag is such a pretty red! The lipglass sounds pretty and the polish is a sexy red! So I'll prob get that one.

Can't wait for brush sets!!!! I'm gonna splurge on them unless the quality is really bad. I usually don't have a problem with my mini set brushes (got 2 as gifts from mischief makers) and there was only one brush i find a bit annoying (214) but i can still work with it. The glittery handles just have to be mine since there is a real lack of glitter (at least for a collection called GLITTER and ice) unless you're counting the snow globe on top of the eyeshadow pallets which is too darn cute!

I am definitely getting the brush sets! Hopefully the quality isn't complete crap. But in recent years they have been, I remember the days when the brush sets were AMAZING! My mini 187 that I got from the Flashtronic collection is just as good as my full sized & still soft to this day, not one shed of hair. Just saddens me that the quality of the sets have taken a dive! Maybe I am just spoiled from when they were actually true quality "mini" sets.
I will have my fingers crossed & praying that I wont be disappointed. I just love how they have the brush sets put together for this holiday collection.
Actually, my two 187s from brush sets ( I think one was Novel Twist) are better than my full size. It is my full size 187 that sheds! I'm just happy that they are putting out different combinations of brush sets. I haven't bought a brush set in ages because they keep putting out the same brushes. I'm getting that mineralize brush set!

I like the sultry eye set (I don't have any of the colors). I like the warm eye set but I have 3 of the colors. Yikes. But I've been wanting to get Patina. I almost bought it a week ago. I will have to see how the other colors look. But I agree that Gaelic Gold is great! They should release it in a full size.

I agree clslvr6spd and Icecaramellatte! I got my 187SE from the holiday collection 2009, and it is incredibly soft! I hope the quality of the brush sets from this collection is as good as my 187SE. I love to hear more about the new brush sets soon.

The things that interest me the most are the Cool & Warm eye palettes and the Iced Silver Iced Delights Eye Bag (that sounds awful). The Sultry shadow palette would interest me as well, but there are a couple of shades I already have and there are too many lustres. Strangely, despite the fact that I usually gravitate towards lip products, I'm not really seeing anything I want in the lippies.

The Lustres were not too bad. Lightfully was quite buttery, but Fun! was more on the drier site. It's a nice day, day to evening, and evening palette though.

I have all of the crushed metal pigments so far & there is only ONE of them I actually use. I *might* get a set for collection purposes, but maybe not. Otherwise, not really interested in any of this.

Speaking of Lightfully....I wonder if it is a repromote from Lightful Collection.

It is not marked as a repromote

i have decided to skip the pigments so i can get all the gloss sets! i did this last year too :) i think the mini glosses are a nice size and you can always use them up before they go bad. plus if you take one out with you and loose it, it's not as bad because it was only a mini one!

I like your thinking! I think imma do the same. Plus dazzleglasses are my fav gloss. As much as I love them I only own a few, I wish they had more product in them cause I go through them pretty fast. The sets will give us a chance to try different ones which is very exciting for me.

They are the 2 brush sets I want to get too. I really like the look of the brush sets this year. There is a nice combination of staple brushes that are great to have in multiples and for traveling purposes (239 and mineralize face brushes I am talking to you!) and then brushes I don't have and would like to try or that haven't be available before

yup i love dazzleglass too! i hate that they are stupidly expensive in the uk now and haven't bought one in about a year!!

I'm interested in most of the gloss sets, lip bags, and brush sets this year. I've heard that the crushed metal pigments don't always perform well, so I figured I'd cross those off my list since I don't use the pigments I do have on a regular basis. I hope we get the pricing for everything quickly so I can start making a budget for myself

I always get sucked into buying the mini kits, but I always end up not using the products (except the brushes). It is like they get lost in my make up stash never to be seen again.
