I think this particular manager is not up to par with what Nordies is so good at. They are always on top of anything when it comes to their customers.

Debi said she was going to write a letter. I told her to write every detail and send it to the head office, way beyond that store. I would think they would not approve of how this manager handled the situation. She should be fired and at the very least written up. She had to have been trained on how they treat their customers. I have never been treated with anything but friendly and respectful sales people in person or on the phone. It really angers me and I was even involved. She bought that bag because of the beautiful color and should accept no less.

In any situation I am usually very polite at first and if not offered complete satisfaction or replacement whichever is the case then I get progressively more aggressive and always talk to a supervisor.

In cases like this, they will only man up if they are up against a rock and a very hard place... sorry, but Nordies did not act immediately to help her and they will drag this out (this is a recession and it is an expensive bag) if they possibly can... many times people give up. But I am sure Debi has taken all the measures necessary to reclaim her property.

elegant, Island is a wonderful one pan es -- it looks peachy in the pan but applies more like a nude with sheen and pink/gold tones. It has been dcd.

WOW. I hadn't seen that story. Debi, I'm so sorry that you had to go through that. I dropped a bottle of polish on my living room table a year ago and, despite the fact that I cleaned it immediately and it's a non-porous surface (unlike your clothes and bag), I can still see the stain under certain light (and it was near-black polish on a near-black table). They need to replace your belongings. I'm shocked that they'd be so callous about the whole incident. Unfortunately, sometimes you need to be a bit diva-ish, at least a little, or you seem to get trampled on. You should send a note about your experiences to Nordstrom's head office, regardless of the outcome. At this point, whatever they do, you're still going to have the bitter taste of that initial experience hanging around.

My daughter dripped a blob about the size of a quarter on our relatively new hard wood table while my husband was out of town. It was clear topcoat and she didn't realize it and I saw it when I was cleaning. It was probably good she didn't or she would have wiped it while wet and made a larger spot. I was able to gently chip it away with my nail and clean it but you can still see it a bit in the light especially when the blinds are opened and the sun hits it. Hubby still hasn't noticed it yet. Maybe I notice it because I know it's there.

Went to the Chanel counter on Saturday and somehow Empire and Famous came home with me. I was very surprised at how well Empire looked on my lips (softer than Phoenix). Famous had this pretty slight pink sparkle that made me fall in love with it. Both ladies at the Chanel counter were impressed with how it looked on me. They could have been blowing smoke up my skirt for the $$$ but hey, who cares, right?

I've done a few more swatches for you all. These are all on NW43 skin w/ strong red undertones.

Yes, they really are *that* close. Rouge Byzantin has red frost, Famous has pinky sparkle.

Well, I was all excited to go to Nordstroms today with a list of things to look at, starting with the Christmas Philosophy goodies. I stood in front of the display trying to decide which one to sniff first and what to get before skipping merrily over to the Chanel counter to swatch when.... a sales lady started pushing herself on me and pointing to every single scent saying which one she liked, or this is good and that one is nice....when...

SMASH...CRASH!!!

The nail polish bottle she was holding slipped out of her hands, hit the glass display, then the floor, splattered nail polish everywhere, including on my shoes, my pants, my sweater, me, and my Coach bag.

"Oh, sorry. I'm so sorry." Yeah. Um, ya just ruined my entire outfit and my brand new bag. I get this was an accident, but sorry is not going to cut it, chickie! She started coming at me with nail polish remover to remove the nail polish from my bag. Are you serious???? Handbag department did not know what to do. Manager did not know what to do. (Whatever happened to if you ruin it you pay for it???) They took my bag to the shoe department and let one of the guys at it. Oh, splendid idea. They didn't take the n/p off but they did ruin the bag even more.

"Sorry." A lot of shrugs. Are you kidding me? By now I feel like Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde, one minute so angry and not wanting to say a word out of anger and the other minute tears filling my eyes and rolling down my face. It was just a "let's make a quick fix and get her out of here" attitude. Now I don't swear, and I keep my cool, and I let the tears run quietly down. I am no diva. They offered to have the purse professionally cleaned. We went up to Coach for their advice and they said no, it is ruined and cannot be treated. They need to replace it.

Now waiting for a call. I didn't buy Chanel. I didn't buy butter or anything else there. We went to B&BW and Macy's and gosh darn, golly, I won't buy a thing from Nordstroms until they fix this and after the nonchalant service I received I won't be going back there in a hurry. And it would have to be my favourite purse that they ruined...which is about 10 days old. Great. Right now wishing I could start my whole day over again. But I can't. So the ruined sweater and the ruined shoes, bag and pants are sitting here staring at me. Lovely...

This is terrible. I would have expected that the manager would have taken care of this situation right away. I hope that it is resolved soon. She should get a new everything plus a gift card.

My Macys said they would have them end of this week. We were hoping that they would be on chanel.com this weekend because the free ship code expires at the end of the month. At least we know that they are pigmented.

LOL, I'm in the same boat...though I'm still cringing over how much I spent despite everything being 50% off or more. Funny how I can drop $200 on makeup/perfumes/skincare no problem, but when it comes to clothes/shoes/bags I recoil away like a rabid cheapskate. I guess cosmetics are as girly as this tomboy nerd is willing to go.

^^ I get emails on a daily basis from Ann Taylor, Loft, Banana Republic, Gap, Talbots (I could go on and on) on all of their super fabulous sales. I got on a major clothes kick this summer and my husband said "I liked it better when your only addiction was makeup"

I agree, cosmetics are a fabulous splurge
