Hey ladies!

It's been waaay to long, but I've been trying to avoid coming on here too much so I don't get any ideas, lol! I've been so very very good lately, even DH is proud! I did get one MAC l/s from the glitter and ice collection, Whirls and Twirls (I think that's the name). Otherwise, I have been focusing on getting things for the house, slowly. I just picked up a duvet insert from PB to go into the duvet cover I had picked up while down in Virginia, just in time for the colder weather (although no snow in our forecast in the near future!).

Elegant, I'm glad you're finally going to get to see the velvets. Congrats on finishing the foyer. It's such a great feeling when things get done.

Michelle, you sound so organized, already picking up gifts for the teachers!

I have yet to use my one and only RA velvet, I came across it today still in its bag when I was cleaning (rather purging) in my bathroom! I got rid of cleansers and body lotions that I haven't used in over a year, that somehow survived the move! I can't even remember the name of the RAV that I picked out, will have to try it this week!

I hope all of you are doing well these days. I feel kinda sad that I can't come on here more, because I do miss hearing from all of you.

I decided to start a little early this year with picking up things here and there for Christmas. But I'm not all that organized LOL!

Ooh, the duvet covers from PB are lovely! Its fun & exciting to redo update get things for the house. I am very happy to be done painting the foyer. I used the Restoration Hardware paint for the first time - It has what they called a VELVET finish. How appropriate for this thread. The paint finish is very elegant velvet

Glitter and Ice is out at my counters. I want the brush set! I felt the 187SE and it was soft and dense, much better quality than the previous years'. The bag is not attractive though. I like one of the kits too, the one with 3 brushes, a quad, a blush and a lipstick or gloss. Didn't buy it though, I want to be more selective.

Elegant, I have La Distinguee RAV, the rest were all too dark for me. I haven't tried Whirls and Twirls yet. Do you find it too icy looking on? I was hoping it would be fairly sheer on, so my lip colour can show through.

You'll have to report on how you like the paint, in terms of wear and cleaning over time. I'm pretty sure I'll be pushing to repaint the main part of our house in a few more years, even though we did have it painted when it was built.

Michelle, I'm pretty sure it was the white packaging that got me to even look at the MAC lipsticks!

Apart from that, we haven't had much else going on here. I did end up having to arrange to replace the Pirouette window coverings we had purchased in the spring with shutters. We had issues with half of them, which I'm told is rare, but after having one window replaced, we noticed a slight difference in the colour of the fabric. I was really upset after having spent as much as we did. I had several conversations with the customer service dept. where we had purchased them, and in the end, they finally agreed to let us pick out something else instead of replacing the defective units and reimburse the difference. So we went with shutters. Not what I originally wanted, but I like them, and they go with everything, so there we are!

L'Exuberante - lovely brighter slight rose blue pink
LA Raffinee - Beautiful medium rose pink. If you could only choose one, I would pick this one. Its a safe color for all.
LA Fascinante - Sexy but wearable blue red with very slight pink undertones.
Platine Soft Touch es - gorgeous soft shimmer clean white
Pirate np - deep blue red
Spark sample gloss

Great start, but they need more of a variety of shades. I will get Caline ? sp ,, the orange-ish one & Sensuelle next.

I also bought Platine Soft Touch es per Shypos recommendation - its GORGEOUS!!! How did I miss this es

And, I got Pirate & the brighter pink np & had them order Fantasme cream eyeshadow (the shimmery white one) as they are almost completely sold out everywhere.

The crazy Chanel lady really really made me laugh today & I actually really enjoyed her humor...we laughed really loud a lot

She was funny.

They wear wonderfully both in texture which is a very smooth satin velvet matte. And, most of it remained on my lips after eating a cheeseburger

The Pink np isn't in the pictures because she ordered it with Fantasme es so I could get free shipping

Yes its sheer kind of icy shimmer. Its pretty & boring at the same time

but that could be my pigmented lips. Your lips will definitely show through.

The paint colors themselves are truly the best imo. The velvet texture is this very pretty soft elegant kind of soft satin look. Not dull & not shiny, Hubs is in LOVE with the color

He just hung the chandelier, but I have to go remove all the plastic protective covering from the crystals...that ought to be fun,,,,not. But I am soooo excited to see it lit. he put a dimmer on it too

I picked up La Rafinee from Macy's. It looked very similar to La Caline.

I notices that my Macy's didn't have La Distinguee (sp?) but it's on the Chanel site. (the RAVs aren't advertised on the site yet but if you do a google search you can find them). Wonder if it's online only.

MaryJane, did you check what country you were in when you Googled to the Chanel site? Google always lands me on another country's Chanel site, never the US for some reason...probably because I'm always Googling non-US items, lol. But I think if the RAVs are not on the US site yet that might happen too. La Distinguee is supposedly an Asia exclusive, although Canada got it too. I guess we'll see soon enough.

I'll be checking out the launch event at my favourite Chanel counter (actually, it's because my favourite Chanel MUA is doing the event) this week. I'm thinking I want La Fascinante and/ or La Sensuelle. Although it seems silly to get two red shades. Then again, a red by Chanel is a special thing each time. I might go for a pink instead... I do hope that they continue to add to the core group with their seasonal collections. I don't really picture a RAV going with the look they have for their Spring 2012 collection, but hey, maybe they need something for emphasis...

Thanks my dear No, I didn't think that Caline looked similar to Rafinee - at least in my Macy's lighting. Caline is more of a kinda soft rose nude heather lavender-ish color. Kinda hard to describe.

Is Somptueuse the brownish one? If so, I didn't care for it - for on me. I really liked all of the colors except for that one. Fascinate is more of a true slight brighter red in comparison to Sensuelle which has a slight plum/berry to deepen the red.

I really really love Rafinee on!!! I had the brighter pink one on tonight & it stayed on so darn long that I had to use makeup remover to get it off. Its lovely with a sheerer application too.

Elegant, I remember having to unwrap all the strands of crystals when we were putting up our chandelier, and then having to wipe them all! It was time consuming, but worth it in the end! It does look so pretty though once it's up and sparkling! That paint sounds really nice in terms of the finish.

No, the brown one is L'Exquise. La Somptueuse is supposed to be brick red. I love La Fascinante - it's a very neutral and wearable red on me.
