MAC - Shop Shop Shop / Cook Cook Cook discussion

Starry, I'm in the same camp as you. I can't do lipsticks as bright as those in Shop/Cook or IA (except for maybe DIU). I did get A Perfect Day from Naturally and can make it work, but neither the real brights or the nudes are my style.

Last year I did go slightly berserk getting lipsticks from Semi Precious, Fall Color, and Mac Me over - at this point I can't remember which came from which collection but I got multiples of Gem of Roses, One of a Kind, Offshoot, and my most beloved of all, Oh Oh Oh (which looks like pure dung in the tube but is gorgeous when applied).

So I should be glad that none of the recent lippies is wearable for me, because it's saving me money and allowing me to use up what I already have LOL.

I've also recently raided a clearance bin at my local grocery store where they had a ton of Revlon Colorbursts marked down to $2. Man, did I do some damage there LOL. That's my favorite drugstore lipstick....

I cannot believe I had no idea this was online. I am so off my game. :lol: I want Watch Me Simmer. I will wait until Thursday. I'll be the first one there, so I'm not nervous. I don't get the point of this little "event" though since it's the same day as the official launch. They better not try and make me over b/c I'm not having it. I will have a full face on already. :nono: I'm not really excited for this since it's full of repromotes and colors I'm not dying for. I think I might end up with just one (possibly 2) quad now. No tendertones b/c I already have one and no pearlglides because I own all except Black Line and I hardly use them. No fluidlines either b/c after the YSL gel liners, there's no need to look elsewhere. I'm bummed because I want a Mac mega haul like the one from last year's spring collection. Guess I'll have to wait a bit longer.

I had no clue this was online either!! Yikes, earlier than ever! I also hate that I haven't seen swatches of everything yet, but it's online. I think I'll wait til Thursday too and hope that swatches of everything will be out. I think I just want a few Tendertones. I want Black Line p/g, but it's perm so I can wait!

After seeing Christine's lipstick swatches, the only one I'm interested is Watch Me Simmer (and I already have Runaway Red). It may be sold out, but since it's being repromoted with Reel Sexy, I'll just grab it then. Less pressure on my bank account as well. =D

Naughty Saute looks awful on Christine's swatches! On Allura it looked soo pretty! I hope I don't regret getting it!

I remember wanting Gem of Roses, but decided against it when I swatched it. The recent lipsticks I've gotten (within the past year) are Flamingo, Fusion Pink, Cockney, Hibiscus and Perpetual Flame Pro Longwear. I don't wear them much, I've been sticking to my perm and older LE ones, my favourites being Lustering, Laugh a Lot and Ahoy There. I need something new!

I didn't get Flamingo because I have Cut A Caper which is similiar, and I hardly ever wear it. I am nearly done with a tube of Syrup (my everyday go-to) and another of Midimauve (both perm).

I'm oggling DIU from this collection but haven't decided yet....

Maybe some more wearable lippies for us will show up later in the year

I went to the Pro store here in LA on Thursday, and I bought Purring and Hot 'n Saucy TT's, Quick Sizzle, Florida, and the Designer Purple Pearlglide.

It was my first experience with Tendertones, and I love them!! SO happy to have both. (Hot 'n Saucy looks great over QS!)

QUICK SIZZLE IS AMAZING! I honestly don't think it is like any of Mac's other bajillion hot pinks, because of the Matte-but-creamy texture. And on me, it lasts SO LONG. All of my other bright ass pink lippies fade fairly quickly. If I blot down QS and apply a light coat over the top, it will last an entire evening - even with gloss over it, and through eating and drinking! I am so hard on lipsticks (constantly have to reapply) but for some reason QS loves to cling to my lips. If I wasn't such a makeup whore, this and Such Flare would be all the lipsticks I need!

Florida is also quite stunning. My skin has been on the drier side of late, and I was in the market for a pinkish cream blush. I love the fact that the color can be built up. It's very pretty.

And Designer Purple is unlike any other eyeliner I own, which is rare, and I love it!

Additionally, when I was paying for my items, two of the associates were squealing in a corner. They were looking at promo images from the upcoming summer collection - well I think so --> white and navy stripes. I wanted to ask if I could see, but they scampered upstairs before i finished paying!! I am so excited for that collection and I know nothing about it!! Such an addict!

For me, Quick Sizzle is way more wearable. I am all for rocking bright shades, but CYY is more of a summer pick for me - QS is fancy for the whole year! CYY is definitely neon, QS is just lovely bright.

It's official. I love WMS. On me it definitely is pink/coral and will look great through spring and summer. I am NW15 for reference. Chanel came out with a couple of bright lipsticks a couple of summers ago. One was bright pink and the other was bright coral. Can't for the life of me remember the names of them (Elegant or Shontay can you help me out here? I think one was Super.) If you layered these together you would have something close to WMS.

Can someone recommend perm line dupes to the colors in Shop Til You Drop?

Yeahh! My box came tonight and I've been having a mini swatch party lol. Well, I tried to make my swatch party more lengthy but I should have started with Naughty Saute and worked toward the more pigmented colors. I did this round of pink lipsticks and even with heavy duty make-up remover, my whole arm got stained I'll have to try again tomorrow...which is fine because I should be able to get some natural light shots!

Anywhooo, here are some pink lipsticks for comparison. My arm is probably more in the NC10 region of complexions.

Top is Pink Pigeon, followed by Show Orchid, then Quick Sizzle and lastly Bobbi Brown's Neon Pink. I think Quick Sizzle looks like Pink Pigeon and Show Orchid had a baby and QS inherited Pink Pigeon's matte sheen.

Am I the only one longing for more wearable lipsticks? Iris and S3C3 are all so bright, and Naturally so nude. The only one still on my "maybe" list is DIU, judging by Temptalia's swatches.

You should check out the Kissable Lip Colours - not only are some of those really soft, pretty and wearable, they also have a fantastic silky texture and last for many hours on the lips. If people aren't talking so much about them here, it's only because so many folks went wild over them when they first came out last year that they already have all the colors being re-promoted. They're really excellent in every way (except in the new colors way

After seeing the temptalia swatches I'm a little unsure about getting Quick Sizzle-it looked a tinsy bit cool toned for me. But WMS looks great! I hope it looks the same on me.

I missed What me Sizzle.

I ordered the KLC, so I got something from this collection but everything else is a no go even the quads cuz I can dupe them but that Colour Added is pretty. Hypnotizing e/s is amazing, one of my top favorite Mac lavender purples.
