MAC So Reel / Reel Sexy discussion

I got my goodies today! Well, part 1 of them. I love Reel Sexy and Heroine both. Reel Sexy might take some slight tweaking to look good on me, but I love the color. Heroine does lean a bit red purple on me, but that might be my NW15 skintone. Heroine is almost a darker, matte version of Violetta. Pink Popcorn will probably be here next week. I haven't tried Pink Cult yet, but I will tomorrow.

I would have to disagree in my experience.  I order from Nordstrom often and even the smallest item always comes in a huge box.  I live in Alaska though and I don't know if that has anything to do with it.  It's funny though because my husband is always saying "geez what all did you order" and then I open it and show him the tiny item and he's like WTF?  Good thing we recycle.

 


 

Same thing happens to me. I've ordered single lipsticka before and they're in small cardboard boxes I'm like allllll right lol. Sometimes if I order several items, they come from different warehouses and Nordstrom location, so I get multiple packages with just one item in each box.

My items are here. Watch Me Shimmer is so pretty. It is a pretty pink coral on me without liner. I'll try it with lip liner to see if it looks different. I'm going to hit up the counters tomorrow and get a backup.

Modern Mandarin swatches very pretty.

I went to the Estee Lauder Company Store today and saw Lightscapade! They had 2 beigescapades and 1 with lots of blue veining. I bought the latter. =)

I'm surprised MAC is re-releasing it again and so soon. I wonder if the Lightscapades in the Reel Sexy collection are the ones from the Fall Colour collection.

Just received my stuff!!! So f'ing excited!!! I have to say that Full of Joy is beautiful, but it's not as lavender/lilacy as I had hoped. Origins Wild Lilac (my favorite blush ever) is still the only blush that is perfectly lavender/lilacy I have found. It's more grey/bleu/purple than any other purple blush I have seen. Full of Joy is a little lighter less grey/bleu toned. Not bad, but I wanted a dupe for my Origins since it's discontinued and I can't find it anywhere.

Peony Petal is such a soft pink. I was a little nervous it might end up being too pink on me & since I am more cool toned than warm tones (I have a slight mix of coloring due to my mixed heritage). It reminds me of another pink blush I had years ago called Kitty. Can't for the life of me remember the brand, but it's that kind of a baby pink. Kind of natural looking.

Cinestyle. My first ever cremesheen. I love the color in the tube. I had hoped it would be a tad darker more periwinkle on my lips. It's not bad. It's a very sheer lilac/grey color on me. It will be great for a layering over a lipstick or when I just want a tad of color on the lips. I'm happy.

Heroine! Oh wow! Such a beautiful shade of grape/purple. It does resemble Violetta. I didn't do a side by side because I'm too lazy to, but it looks like Heroine may have a tad more blue undertones in it and it's the new matte formula. Hello! Can't beat that.

Pink Popcorn - I had hoped it would be more like lavender whip, but it's not even close. It's a beautiful shade and depending on which way the light hits me, it can look pink or light purple. I am happy with it.

By the way, if any of you guys were planning to get Lightscapade from the Reel Sexy collection, you might wanna check with the CCO or Estee Lauder Company Store first. (Call them 1st so that you don't have to waste a trip down there if they end up not having it.) I got mine for $19.75, but it might be a tad cheaper at the CCO because my Estee Lauder Company Store tends to raise up the price by 25-50 cents because it caters towards the people that work in the financial district.

I tried WMS for the first time. It looked almost neon on me. Whoa! It is a really bright corally pink for me. My eyes are not used to such bright lips but somehow I like it. I'm curious to see how different glosses will work with this color.

Thank you! And oh gosh lol what does Pink Popcorn look like on you? My roommate is NW20 with natural pink lips and Pink Popcorn barely showed up on her..... And oh yes, Crystal Soda is a great buy. I'm on my second one. NYX MS l/g is actually one of my favorite l/g. Plus they range from $3.99-$5.99 and you get tons of product so it's worth it.

Yes...I am NC30/35 with decent, naturally pigmented lips and it is more of a pink-toned slight lavender on me. NOTHING like your shade. LOVE IT!

I got my WMS and RS today...WHOA! If I put them on normally from the tube, they are hideously bright on me, so I had to go over them with my finger then add some lipglass, the kind I added had a ton of golden shimmers so it ended up looking really pretty.

=/ my roommate is lighter than you and it doesn't show up on her at all. Her lips are soooo pink. lol and thank you so much! I can't explain the natural pigmentation of my lips. But I can definitely say that the colors that won't show up on fair women will definitely show up on me.
