Les Beiges de Chanel

The Chanel brush.... Oh My Goodness. It's pure love, especially when using it with the Les Beiges powder. So glad I decided to just get it.

I'm test driving #60 today after test driving #70 yesterday (Yes, like a fiend, I went back and bought #60 anyway). There really isn't that great a difference between the two once on my face. Yesterday, once my skin's oil mixed with the powder, #70 made my face look darker/very tan. And I'm already tan from this summer's heat wave, lol. Waiting to see how #60 winds up, but I actually think it may be doing the same thing... I look like I have more color in my face, if that makes any sense. My skin looks a bit "rosier" due to the undertone, but not red or off at all. It's like a slightly lighter effect of what #70 did to my face yesterday.

Considering that, I may just return #70 or keep it as a bronzer of some sort... but #60 will more than likely be my all over face powder and maybe used as a light bronzer/warmth color in the winter around the perimeter. I kinda wanna test drive #50 but like Shontay said, when I swatched it on my hand, it was kinda gray! Many reviews I've seen from lighter skin tones seem to be loving it as a neutral bronzer of sorts.
I wish that darn lovely brush had a cheaper price point because I want like 6 of them

When the MUA put 60 on me hand, she also used 50 & they both looked nice just slightly different. I really want 60 - bet I end up with it - soon. I wonder too, if they look a bit different on the face than the back of the hand?

I am so sad. Chanel canceled my order. I wondered why I didn't get my powder today. I didn't get a cancellation notice or anything. I logged onto Chanel.com and looked under my order history and it just said "Canceled".

Edit:
So I went into my account and it had the previous les beiges order on "Replenish every 30 days", which I didn't opt for -- but they canceled it anyways. I think they had an old expiration date for my credit card -- even though I have tried to update it a few times.
I just re-ordered it, so we'll see what happens. It will take a week now to get to me, tho ;(
Maybe call this morning Michelle if they haven't shipped your new order yet. They might be willing to ship overnight if that's what your first order had on it?

I think they do because I tried 20 on my hand and it was way too light and was sure I needed 30. When I went back another day to double check she put 20 on my face and it was perfect. I even brought my old powder compact in to compare and IT was lighter than 20. So I'd say you definitely need to go off how it is on your face, not your hand.

I am not really happy with nars setting powder and I think I will return it and get Beige instead.

I called this morning and the CS lady said she had gotten several calls about canceled orders. I thought maybe it had been a mix up with the expiration date on my card, but I re-checked the order, and all of my info was up to date. The CS person said she had no idea why it happened (so classic of customer service on chanel.com haha). Since I re-ordered it last night, she couldn't change the shipping to over night. Guess I shouldn't have been so quick to re-order, lol. I just hope it goes through this time!

Wow Shontay---I'm glad you walked away with the product, and I hope it works for you. I've worn #70 for two days now and I really like it---a lot. It does make me look a tad tan but not necessarily darker. I know that makes no sense but that's the best I can do trying to explain it. When I put the compact side by side with MAC MSF Natural and Refined Golden Bronzer it appeared darker than the MSF (Dark) but almost identical, (sans the sparkle) to Refined Golden. After I applied the powder I wanted to see how RG worked with it and low & behold the RG showed up as per usual. Go figure??? I think it has to do more with the formula and one's undertones. Here's photos of me wearing the powder yesterday. I tried comparing them to other recent photos and there is a slight difference but I'm not sure it's in the coloring/tone.

I can't believe how incredible these powders are. I got to see them/play with them in person at Macy's yesterday. Just stunning. All of them.

I got #20 and #30. They did exactly what I thought they would:

I wanted a base powder, not a bronzing one. After I watched Lisa Eldridge use the powder as a base, I knew that's precisely what I wanted it for. No foundation... just the powder. I wanted to see just how 'effortless' this powder could make me look. It works... incredibly well. Are these permanent? I may need to get more...

I'm going to try again in another day or two. I'll give my skin time to recover and I won't use anything other than moisturizer on my face so that color of the powder won't be changed. I took pictures with the powder on and I look fine, but I can't help but feel that powder made my face a bit darker. I'm thinking #40's undertone seemed to suit me better. I'll have to see.
Shontay we're the same shade. You're #30. I know that sounds nuts (it was to me too) but 30 is more yellow. #40 might work around the bottom part of your face, where your color tends to change. I got #20 and #30 because I'm light through the center and darker around the edges. If I wear just the dark color all over my face, my features tend to go 'flat' in the middle.

I was just so bummed! I was going to call, but then I wondered if Customer service would be able to get it straightened out. Watch, maybe I'll end up with 2 of them, lol ;)

I know, I think I will still call to see what happened. I loved your pics -- so beautiful! Can't wait till I finally get mine!
Thanks so much for the compliment.

As for your order, I'm wondering if the free overnight ship code is still good

So, so pretty Ingenue! These powders seem to be relatively versatile, depending on how one chooses to use them. Love, love, love the look---stunning!

Girl, they cancelled my order too. I was going to re-order, but then happened upon the powders at Macy's and promptly picked them up. I called Chanel.com about the order and they said there might have been a mixup. But now that I'm reading that other orders were cancelled as well... maybe it's just an issue with their system.

Mine was on that 'replenish' madness too. I don't go through powder every 30 days. I don't know WHAT they were thinking. It's just as well, I'm glad I got to see them in person, and confirm that I really needed 20 and 30 to make my life complete.

Shontay and Elegant... OMG THE SMELL! It's like rose and something else. I can't place it. It's LOVELY. I put a full review on my blog if anyone cares. This powder is a must have. It's freakin' amazing.

Thank you! I'm so glad they're permanent. Because I plan to use them.. permanently.

Seriously, this is the first powder that I've been able to use alone that doesn't turn me into a lined up greaseball.

about the "greaseball." I would love to try it as a base but I've not yet found a powder that I can use as a base w/o it breaking

me out. I'm definitely up for trying it. The formula is irresistible!

Shontay we're the same shade. You're #30. I know that sounds nuts (it was to me too) but 30 is more yellow. #40 might work around the bottom part of your face, where your color tends to change.  I got #20 and #30 because I'm light through the center and darker around the edges. I actually thought about messaging you and begging you to find out what our shade is. I ended up with #40. I inspected it from every angle, took pictures and I'm more than happy with it. However, I will go back and look at #30 just because that's the one you're using. My skin was so jacked yesterday, but it's better today and so that tingling I felt was just from my skin being raw and not the powder, thankfully. I would've cried if this powder irritated my skin. It's funny because I told the MUA at Neiman's that #60 is too dark and so I'm thinking #40 and she's like oh, I'm 40 as if to say it must be impossible. She's a very fair woman and under any other circumstance I would be amused right along with her, but this is some special voodoo powder we're dealing with. She thought I was #50 and so she put that on and it was gray, terrible and wrong. Then, she went with #40 which I was happy with. One of these days when it's not hotter than Satan's buttcrack I will try this powder over Perfection Lumiere. I love that this powder adds a glow and evens me up a bit without being too heavy. Now I don't have to go completely bare when foundation is too much for this heat or I'm just too lazy.

Dear heavens girl you/your skin looks AMAZING - seriously!!! Wow its so lovely looking.

I agree with everything you said about the powder. I hope Shontay runs off to Narnia again to try the shades you recommended

Effortless is a great description too.

Chanel needs to maybe make a perfume the same smell as this powder..yes!
