Camel coat looks awesome! I wonder how it compares to illamasqua's hollow cream pigment, I bet it would make a good contour shade for paler girls

I dunno - I find the PLW is drying (though not as bad as some others) and manages to crease a bit on me. I still did like it a lot comparatively UNTIL the Mineralize concealer came out. Now THAT is my HG concealer - it's so smooth and moisturizing - not harsh on my delicate eye skin at all. I like the applicator. It doesn't crease or do anything else weird at all and on top of it all, it's got de-puffing caffeine in it - combined with the P&P Vibrancy Eye, my bags are smoothed out almost completely - which is saying a lot, because I'm a bag lady!

PLW is fuller coverage than the Mineralize one, though…so I suppose that's the trade off.

do you set this with a powder? I love this concealer too but my issues was it didn't last long.
Aargh! My skin is dry-ish, and i use moisturizer religiously all over. Without moisturizer the skin under my eyes just HURTS! Whenever a MAC SA/MUA does my eyes or face, she powders over my concealer. My antique eyes can NOT use powder on top of concealer. It just looks terrible. It's gotta be just concealer by itself for me. While i can powder my forehead, nose, chin, and the apples of my cheeks, face or setting powder does me no favors anywhere near my eyes. Given that much of the makeup buying population is aging, i think it would be VERY helpful if MAC MUAs were taught some hints for doing older faces.

I've tried and returned several other MAC foundations - such as Studio Sculpt - because once they set up they were waaaaay too dry looking and my face ends up looking like this, even with moisturizer and antioxidants:

But I like the MAC Mineralize Foundation. It looks and feels really nice on my old skin. I don't own a bottle yet, because i'm waiting to use up the Lancome Renergie Lifting Foundation i have. It lasts a long time because i don't use foundation daily. But i'm looking forward to the MAC when it's gone.

I was less crazy about the Mineralize concealer - didn't hate it, but wasn't madly in love. I've been using Lancome Maquicomplet concealer in "Light Buff" - i really like how it feels and looks. But lately the color has been looking too yellow on me - i don't know if my skin changed or the concealer changed or i'm just seeing things differently. So maybe i'll give MAC Mineralize concealer another try.

I've got way too many Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows. I don't use them often - i think i just forget they're there. But i can say that once they set up, they do not budge on my eyelids. I do not have oily lids, but i do use moisturizer and antioxidant gel or cream.

I originally put them on with my finger, but i think they go on more evenly with a brush. They do set up fairly quickly, so you need to work fast.

What i'm not so crazy about is the not-very-sophisticated standard range of colors they have. The LE colors are often better, but sometimes they're quite close to original perm colors or other previous LE colors.

Tough as Taupe, one of the standard originals in a matte finish, looks really terrible on me, dirty and muddy. But, then, i'm not a fan of matte on my eyes, only in the crease or sometimes the outer third. There's probably a way to make it look better - using it as a base for some other eyeshadow with a different finish, which i haven't tried yet. I know, i know...

I can't really compare them to MAC Paint Pots because i only have a few - and i don't use them often either, except for my favorite, Genuine Treasure, which i even backed up! (and i rarely BU stuff).

I think in general MAC's colors are more sophisticated (esp. the LE ones), and MAC offers a wider range of potential base colors than the Color Tattoos. The Color Tattoos standard colors are very BRIGHT, not subtle or fashion forward. But if you only use one or two colors over and over - such as white, black, or taupe - you may find Color Tattoos work for you. And they're waaaaay cheaper than MAC Paint Pots - in the US they tend to run from around $6 to $8, compared with MAC's $18.50 to $21!

I like the color tatoo but they are so drying for my lids I can only use maybe once a week. This may be why I tend to shell out twice as much for the MAC PP. And their PP are more muted and to me more stylish. The color tatoo woyld be great as beach makeup to my thinking. I am eagerly anticipating many of these even though I have too many cream products open and dessicating as we speak that they will certainly dry out before I can use them.

Wow, September might be the cheapest MAC month ever.

Just the purple liner from this collection. I have six paint pots open right now and since these are permanent (they are aren't they?) I can wait.

Nothing from AL and the RM Lipsticks are all too bright for me.

I'm not sure if I'm happy about this or sad.

Who wants to join me in a "use up" mission to use up our already opened PP so we can justify dropping cash on these new permanent ones???

I've got quite a few that are years old and they're still going strong, but I close those jars as tight as I can plus I keep them in their boxes too (I throw out all my boxes except for paint pots, fluidlines and other cream products in a jar). I also keep them all in a opaque container with a lid so no light is getting in there. Finally, I barely keep them open when I'm using them - I load up both sides of my brush, close up the jar, then apply to my eyes. Have never tried the refrigerator trick, but so far, so good.

Mentioned this in the Retro Matte thread...paint pots are now $20 on all websites except Bloomingdales.

The older colors that are presumably being discontinued are also $18.50 on Nordstrom's site. However a lot of them seem to be showing up at CCOs too, so if that's a viable option, take it!
