I just got another email from mac a half hour ago. This one titled "Don't miss out! MAC Cinderella going fast!". When I last checked an hour ago all that was left on the Canadian site was the mascara, the fluidlines and the pearl varnish eye gloss and the two lipglasses. Why even bother with another email MAC? If I had waited for your first notification, (which came an hour after the launch) I wouldn't even have been able to get Royal Ball. Which is the only thing I wanted. (And that was only because I'm a Disney fan.

It was up within 10 minutes of the launch. People were calling them "pre-sales" and listing the lipsticks for $35!
And if anyone paid that amount for lipstick that has yet to be released in store... Well... More fool them. But what if the seller couldn't pick up the lipstick and what not???

I'm guessing they must have had some sort of plan, but it's still super shady. Of course, charging that much for a lipstick before it's even sold out is also super shady. I have only ever bought one MAC item on eBay, and it was my Hello Kitty lipstick, 2 years after release because I ran out of it. And I paid $18 for it, not these gouging prices they're charging now!

I've bought quite a few MAC items on eBay, luckily the sellers that I went to have always been reasonable with their prices. Especially the US sellers. Its just the auctions, where people take the piss. I could've had TTT for £25, but someone had to push up to £40+ *side eye*

I feel like some people don't understand they can still try and get it from Macy's online or in store next week, and it makes me feel bad because eBay sellers completely take advantage of them!!

There are other places. Macy's, Nordstrom etc. I do feel sorry for some of these buyers that don't know that are other places. Personally, I see eBay as a last resort... But not when the seller has hiked up the price to such an extent

ebay is a fickle place to buy makeup.... half the time you don't even know if you're gettin the real deal. even with positive feedback! If I have to spend 30 + for a lippie... I'll go buy an Armani or chanel. Sorry mac. you're not the end all... I may be obsessed but even I know when I'm getting jipped. The ridiculousness with these ltd collections has really made me cut back with mac. I checked every hour on the website because I LOVE disney and I wanted the products. But I just don't have it in me to do that for every launch anymore. Sometimes it's just not worth it. If they actually had decent stock and did restocks more regularly I would purchase more. I will always love mac but I have learned to not get my hopes up. Typically I purchase from nordies. They seem to have more in stock and ship faster for me. Macs texts are lame and late. They just don't seem to care about their customers.

There will be a time, that I would go to a MAC counter that I would never think about going to... And find out that they had plenty in stock. Happened on 2 occasions last year

Sometimes the buyers are people who live in international locations where they don't have access to the US stores. I know for certain Macy's, Bloomies and Belk require a US issued CC in order to order from their site. So even attempting a freight forward would not work 'cause they wouldn't be able to order in the first place :(

Nordstrom posts internationally, but it's a case of 'will they post to my country?'

I agree that MAC itself doesn't really seem to care about its customers. The customer service line usually seems irritated at me for even daring to call when they're the ones that made a mistake to begin with! I am so thankful for my MAC girl at the Nordy's here in town. I just call her and give her my list, she rings it up and I stop by to pick it up after work. The only time I order online is for the exclusives like this one. (We don't have a Macy's in Alaska).

Makes sense that they would need to purchase on eBay, but still sad that they are being taken advantage of. :(

I don't think they can ship MAC to countries that already have MAC stores. Most of the products they can ship internationally usually exclude a lot of beauty items unfortunately.

I might give it a shot next week. I'll let you know

EDIT: @Shars, you was right. Just when I thought I could bend something without using my US mailbox

Ugh I am so steamed that I was up at 6:45am PST this morning and everything I wanted was pretty much gone. And next Thursday I will be out of town for work where there is no MAC store and my store won't let us pre-order. I feel super sad that I missed out on the lipsticks. Even though it is just lipstick it still has kind of ruined my day. :(
