NYX Black Sesame is a must! I use it all the time to give a more flattering grey tinge to lipstick, especially to nudes and purples.

Edit: I need to get NYX Milk stat. Had never thought of using it as a lip mixing medium.
I won't be lying if I say I'm not a huge lip mixer. They're so small I feel like I have nothing to work with! It's always been the running joke in my fam because everyone has nice full lips.

I love Milk, been using it to brighten eye shadows on clients for years, such a staple. I've used their jumbo eye pencils on lips, don't think I've used Milk though.

I don't even remember what we were sharing! Someone wanted to either create a dupe or something. Here are my purples ...that I could find anyway:
700
700
(With flash)
700
(Without flash) L-R: MAC LJ, MAC DG, MAC Heroine, NYX Macaron in Violet, CG Lip Perfection (name rubbed off!), NYX High Voltage (new) in Twisted, NYX Intense Butter (new) Gloss in Berry Strudel, LA Girl Glazed Lip Paint in Coy, Nicka K in Purple Affair, Ka'Oir in Rude Girl, NYX Macaron in Lavender. One I just found and didn't swatch, CG Lip Perfection in Embrace. Oops, forgot RiRi Boy too! Closest to LJ in my collection is DG. DG is a little more pinky in my eyes...more of a dusty rose in it.

I just tried Nyx milk with Heroine lipstick and nyx prune lipliner and I'm so happy with the color! Now I don't have to search for a reasonably priced LJ lipstick. And milk is not drying either. So happy.
Oh, wow.. thats an interesting combo! I might have to try!!

That seals the deal! I had heard of people raving about Milk on beauty blogs and message boards, but somehow I always put off buying it. I have a bunch of NYX lipsticks, but no lip or eye liners from them. This year is the first time I heard/thought about using eye pencils on the lips. I've been a makeup fiend for 15+ years; you would have thought this idea would have crossed my mind. Lol. I'm glad you said you use the jumbo eye pencils on clients' lips because I am going to pick up Milk, Strawberry Milk and a few other shades for the lips. Maybe I'll get 2 Milk - one for lips and one for eyes. I have small-to-medium lips, and my problem is that lipsticks turn ugly orange, brown or fuchsia on me, so I'm always tweaking away, mixing colors and textures.

what are you holding?
I guess it's called a vape? It's a regulated box mod, specifically. People use them to quit smoking - I picked it up because I tend to smoke when I drink and the habit was starting to carry over into when I was sober, too, so I kind of use it as prevention. The nicotine also really helps with my anxiety (I use really low nic - 3mg). Full research hasn't been done into how safe they are, so if you aren't a smoker, they're probably worse than not inhaling anything at all, but if you're a smoker trying to quit, these are definitely a better alternative. If anyone wants more info, feel free to message me!

Decided to try Kashmir Blue today! The color Is beautiful, but the application sucked. The formula is thick and hard to apply. It's fast drying, but it bubbled like crazy. It's sad because it's such a nice blue, but IMO it's not worth the price. IG was a lot easier to work with though and a better choice from this collection if choosing between the two. Hope this helps :flower:

I bought a bunch of NYX jumbo pencils a couple of years ago and I only use like three lol. I think unless you're really into makeup mixing all you need is milk and maybe dark brown. Black isn't necessary since you can use any black eyeliner as a base. I've never tried the others on the lips though. Don't sleep on NYX they have some of the best drugstore products. I bought the liquid liners and fell in love. I ended up dropping my favorite blue one and it shattered even though it was plastic so be careful. But yeah I like NYX liners for lips and eyes better than MAC. My MAC liners seem to dry out too quickly but my NYX stay creamy.

Try a nail polish thinner.

Colourpop is easily one of my fave brands. If you haven't tried them, you need to

I'll place an order by the end of the month once I sort out what starter items should I buy. Which starter items would you recommend for a newbie, Dolly? :)

Does anyone know of dupes (drugstore to mid-end brand) for the three nail polishes? They all look so beautiful but I don't like Mac's nail polish formula.

Just remember they aren't made for the lips so they may be drying. I've used them on clients for fashion show type events so it's usually on and off. Ever try NYX's pigments? I like those too. Their slim lip pencils are FAB! So many colors.

I love them, their eyebrow gel is THE BEST! Love their lip liners, lipsticks and blushes too.

Gorg color, sorry the application sucked. I never want to spend more than $3/$4 on nail polish. I love them and doing designs, etc. But I've just never been an OPI, Essie, etc follower where people are quoting names of the polishes like how I do lipsticks. Except for the Nicki Minaj and The Muppets OPI mini collections. I have A LOT of nail polishes mind you, but the majority are beauty supply store brands or Avon (I'm a rep so I buy them at demo prices). Also since having kids I stopped putting it on regularly.
