I'd honestly be surprised if the next VG spokesperson WASN'T Caitlyn or Laverne. Should be Laverne, though, IMHO. I just think that the association with the Kardashian clan means Caitlyn is taken less seriously in some circles. I don't think Conchita is as well known in North America, but I'd love to see her do a collaboration!!

I would rather Laverne over Caitlyn as well.

Kris Jenner is alot of things but a less attractive woman than Caitlyn is just not so. Kris is a beautiful woman imho. Caitlyn has a whole lot of air brushing done. I don't really care who the spokesperson will be as long as the VG campaign raises a LOT of money for the M·A·C AIDS Fund. (That's really all that matters.) I just hope it's a shade that would look good on everyone.

I could see how CJ's association with the Kardashians could turn people off. I watch that show as a guilty pleasure but have come to see it as more problematic lately since my cousins around Kylie's age are fans of hers. I really don't like the idea that that's what my young, impressionable cousins look up to or aspire to be.

Aside from that, though, I do think that what Caitlyn is doing, especially in such an open, public way, is incredibly brave. She's reaching a really large audience, across generations, including many that saw Bruce as a hero so it's pretty powerful thing to see a figure renowned for athleticism and masculinity transitioning in real-time. I agree with a lot of people that Laverne would be an amazing choice, too. I think that as a business MAC is of course trying to capitalize on Caitlyn's moment and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. It's kind of great that we're talking about a transgender model-Laverne or Caitlyn-being so marketable.

Everyone? Or everyone in the States? VG is global - not everyone keeps up with the Kardashians errr Jenners lol. I'm not saying it was an unwise business move though. I was just saying they are taking advantage of the publicity and hype. I wonder who they had lined up for VG 2016 before this all blew up.

Same. I think that MAC has been ready to go with a transgender person for awhile and they might jump on the Caitlyn wagon because she had received a lot of support. I myself don't follow that family or their shenanigans, but I would have to be living under a rock to not have heard about Caitlyn's journey right now.

The info about VG Caitlyn is from Sat 1 Breakfast TV, so yeah - if there's no IG hype going on, they probably just spread a rumor (haven't been online for the whole day, so I dunno ) they might be not the most reliable source.

I actually really like this colour so bring it on! I was actually hoping for a bright red/orange like what she wears in the 22 video so Im happy! I like her VG1 but Im hoping this is a matte or retro matte because those 2 formulas are my fav!

I'll buy it if I like the product but in my opinion they should have gone with someone else. So many other people who have transitioned are better candidates. In my eyes Caitlyn is still Bruce and for a while probably will be and to be honest I use to think Bruce was the least money and fame hungry of the family but now he's just like them. I have nothing against Bruce or him transitioning I'm glad he will finally be able to live the life he's wanted but why do you have to capitalize off of it I don't wanna see Caitlyn on runways magazine covers or makeup campaigns at least not now I wanna see Caitlyn walking out of the grocery store or target. Just my thoughts my vote would have been for Laverne cox and Caitlyn maybe in a couple of years. I get where Mac is going with this but i don't understand why Caitlyn would do this now not.
