i think i've stated before, but this was supposed to be a democratic year why .. because people do not like the direction the republican party has taken the country in. I mean it's not just the presidency realize the dems are taking senate and congressional seats in traditionally republican states.

but there are also other back stories surrounding obama. It's a triumphant moment for this country because again and again we live up to the ideal that we are striving to be an inclusive and tolerant society. It's phenomenal.

The country should be happening because the last 8 years have been terrible and we have the opportunity for a totally new beginning

I voted, on paper, and my wait was maybe 20 minutes. I can't say that I 100% support either candidate, but I chose after doing my research. Now I'm just getting excited for the final results!

I voted on paper, no wait, out in less than 10 minutes.

I had to wait in line for 30 minutes and I didn't hear one person complain about having to wait. Whatever the results are tonight I am excited. I am excited to have someone new in office and for a new person to have a chance at running our country. Even the pouring rain and hail in Seattle can't get me down.

Lol, I thought that said "a new person to have a chance at ruining our country." Whoops!

Still doesn't answer why everyone will fall in line. A lot of people are going to be pissed off one way or another, it's just that it will be four more years before they're able to do anything about it (two years for Congress).

Well... you can never 'please' everyone. I'm not really saying that. I know i was pissed in 2000 and 2004. I will never forget those elections. Hopefully, the new administration will be able to make some positive changes. substantive changes.

If mccain wins. I wouldn't be 'mad' .. i'd just be disappointed. But i wouldn't judge him until i'd have an opportunity to see where he actually takes the country.

But .. it wasn't in the card for him. He's made ALOT of mistakes

Palin killed it for him

And I understand that, but positive changes in one person's eyes may be a negative change in another's. All I'm saying is the country is not going to be united like it was after 9/11, no way, no how.

Agreed...I was disappointed with Bush's win ...But oh well the majority voted and he was the choice of the majority...So everyone had to accept and deal... No difference...

I truly have no problems with McCain...My main concern was Palin...for my own personal reasons.

Maybe we should give it a chance before we totally rule out the idea and chance of this happening.

He wasn't, though. At least not one the first time. That's why I really dislike this system.

My candidate is not going to win.

I've been avoiding a lot of real life discussion about whom I voted, simply because I've been yelled at for voting Green party. Even though I'm registered to vote in MA and I feel that Obama doesn't fit my beliefs.

Do people who vote Libertarian get themselves in hot water for not voting Republican? I really don't like the accusations that voting for another party could ruin it for Obama
