well, I cast my vote today, And I had no lines or anything ! I just walked straight up to the table to sign in and there was maybe 4 or 5 people in the booths. It was quite nice considering that I was expecting a TON of people

Now I'm Off to get my free "I voted" starbucks!

Returns should start coming in as soon as polls close, which I think is already occuring in some East coast states.

I have always been very uncomfortable with the way the American media deals with the results of elections by claiming a winner after 1% of the vote is in like 6 states.

It takes weeks to get an actual count and then isn't the electoral college like a month away? That's when we have an official newly elected official. Speaking of which, I'm about ready for the US to get rid of this electoral college madness.

The attire thing is called passive electioneering and it's outlawed, in some states, in part because electioneering is seen as a form of intimidation when it is done within a certain distance of a polling place.

Speaking of this, while I was waiting in line to vote yesterday this man yelled out that all the Democrats have to get out of line because their day to vote is November 5th. Some people were laughing and some looked pissed off, but nobody said anything. I think he was saying it to be funny but I think he could have got in trouble for that? I don't know, but he was standing next to a big sign that had the number to report those types of things to officials. I don't think in CA you're allowed to wear or have any endorsing materials on you.

I had a paper, but we're absentee Texas voters. I don't have to worry about passive electioneering. I can vote naked if I want

I just got back from voting! This my thrid time voting and I don't remember feeling so giddy the first two times I voted. I was really excited to get off work and vote today. I had to wait in line for 30 minutes and I didn't hear one person complain about having to wait. Whatever the results are tonight I am excited. I am excited to have someone new in office and for a new person to have a chance at running our country. Even the pouring rain and hail in Seattle can't get me down.

The rain is screwing up all some of the ballots here. Apparently optical scanners get all messed up with damp ballots and people are getting their ballots wet with their wet hands and clothing.

Crazy.

Voted today! I charged up my little ipod anticipating at least an hour wait in line. Low and behold, I walked right on in, voted, and walked on out. No wait time at all! Thanks to all of those early voters that made this possible. haha.

I know! "Giddy" is a great word to describe how I felt...Although I probably seemed more than giddy. I don't know the best word to describe my mood

. I was jumping up & down & screaming & kissing my husband thru the open car window (he's British; can't vote here, much to his chagrin

, & he stayed in the car with our son because the polling station was tiny.)

I didn't even think about being a walking piece of campaign, here in NY, wearing my little tank top with BIG.....pride!!!!

I did get a strange look from one woman,
but nobody else looked at me strangely;
I did receive a couple of smiles, though.

Now that I see it may be illegal to wear endorsements within 100 yards of certain polling stations (?) I would certainly check *before* going to vote.
I would not want *anyone,* who supports *any* party, to arrive & be turned away due to wearing a campaign shirt.

My place only had paper.

I only had to wait in line about 5 minutes & everything went really smoothly (people were on their best behavior). I'm excited to see the results.

I early voted and we had electronic polling. It was kind of cool because of the way it highlighted and everything.
