Did you see McCains Speach. I think it was the best one he has given since the campaign began. It brought tears to my eyes. Im so happy.

I sincerely hope that Mr. Obama is able to meet the expectations for his presidency he has created.
It's an historic day, for sure.
I don't agree with his politics in many ways, but I do hope and pray that his time in office can be held safely, with his only major concern being creating a nation of financial security, civil liberty, and genuine reward for genuine hard work.

. Im glad his messing up a "soup sandwich" days are over, just bad he made it to the white house to begin with. He didnt live up to any expectations(well except the bad ones I thought hed do) and the sloppy legacy he leaves behind will be remembered with distain(at the very least by me).

Concession speeches are usually really good. I didn't even like Kerry and still don't, but I did like his concession speech when he lost 2004. I don't know who writes them or what it is about them, but I find myself often believing the person delivering it.

I'm really excited for our country, I feel like there is finally some light at the end of this dark and difficult tunnel we have been in for 8 years.

John McCain is a great American and a hero, and he gave a really honorable speech just now. I'm sure he would have been a good leader, but Obama is what this country needs at the moment, and America has sent quite the message, hasn't it?

I'm in the UK and have stayed up (it's 4:40am here) to watch the coverage on the BBC. The atmosphere looks incredible, I can only imagine what it must feel like to be part of such a historic event.

On another note, it was so amazing going to the polls today to vote! There were so many people who were voting for the first time, including my 18 yr.old sister (who was so excited to be the only one in her class old enough to vote lol). I hope that future presidential elections get as much excitement in voting as this one has.

I am beyond excited. My 2 year old daughter knows who Obama is, gets excited and will point him out in a second. This is something I definitely will add to her baby book. YAYYYYYY!!!
