i just purchased a mac brush set for $40 dollars. it came in a leather roll pouch. the brushes are beautiful. but i cannot leave a feedback because the people who sold them to me are no longer a part of ebay.com. i just washed one about five minutes ago. it still looks good. (ha ha) i guess i was very stupid to think i could get something for nothing. I am dumb. 24 piece mac make-up brushes for $40 dollars,silly.
they are beautiful brushes, i hope they will still be usable. they seem to be worthy even if they are not real mac.

I am so glad I read this thread because I was going to buy a 24 or 8 pc brush set from eBay and they indeed appear to be fakes!! It seems like eBay has more fakes than authentic.

Question: I purchased a limited edition, SILVER handle (metal) #183 brush from MAC, quite some time ago (maybe 1 year), but can't remember which collection it came from and can't find the information on Specktra. Does anyone remember which collection it was from? Thanks!

Absolutely don't buy! 100% fake! There is no MAC 24 piece brush set, the brushes also have no # identifying them, ferrules are all wrong from what you can see in the picture. Plus ha $82, if something is too good to be true it probably is. Sometimes one brush can set you back $40+, a set of 24 authentic brushes would be an awful lot of money.

The problem is that eBay,is NOT tackling this whole mess of some of their sellers who sell counterfeit cosmetics especially MAC brushes!Some of the sellers even have the cheek to say on their auction that their set of 24 brushes are authentic!

1- As stated on the first page. Mac does not sell sets with more than 5 brushes or 2) full size brushes in sets period

also, the "209" is not made of synthetic teklon fibers. If you check MACs website, you'll see the color of the bristles aren't even the same.

i've already read that these brushes are of lower quality than the regular ones, but i guess it's a good deal to start with and they will be much more better than the ones i'm using at the moment..

do you think these two are original brush sets, or are there some fake carmine sets at ebay?

the couture brush has a square, crystal-studded handle. the normal 182 has a round metal handle. other than that the brushes are the same.

i haven't seen the couture brushes counterfeited.

they look like such cute sets but i'm being good and saving up for the full-size ones!

I got my 242 off of ebay and it was real! saved a few bucks so I was happy.

i wish these pics had been around a couple of years ago when i got my 187. I got mine through a swap on another make up board and i gave away quite a bit of stuff for a supposedly brand new 187. I got suspicious when it took ages to come and the person i swapped said she had bought it form ebay and it hadn't come yet. As soon as it arrived i suspected it was fake, i even posted pics on here and a few people said it looked faily genuine but noe after seeing this thread the pics it is most def def def fake. It is horrid and the bristles fall out and it leaks dye everytime i wash it. To be honst it was a couple of years ago and i had a break from MAC due to finances but now i am back i am just going to bin it and order myself a new one
