Right. Eyeshadows don't look like that. And no color names.

I had a real bad experiance with ebymom, I was aksing her questions about her pigments, general questions about the names & where she got them. I knew they were fakes but didnt say so. I even bidded on one to see for myself. She wrote back, very rude and told ebay that I withdrew my bid due to her return policy. It's the fake sellers that know they are selling fakes that should be stopped. I reported it to ebay so hopefully they will be stopped....

Oh ebymom is one of the vile ones!
This was her reply to my generic "You are selling counterfeit MAC, please remove it" (i dont bother writing why they are counterfeit in the first message because too many of them just ignore it - if you dont state why they either ask questions, reply with spite or take them down without question and you can tell what kind of seller they are):

"Who are you? How do you know the contents of my item?? Have you seen it or examined it? You speak as though you are the official word. Get a life"

To which was answered with:
"
Where do i start...
1. They arent real names (go to MAC site/google them if you dont believe me.
2. The batch code has 3 digits and they mean the following - 1st means the batch (A=1st batch, B=2nd batch), the 2nd digit means the month (1=jan up to 9=sept, oct=A, nov=B, dec=C), the 3rd digit is the year (2=2002, 5=2005, 9=2009). So unless you have a time machine, it is impossible to have A19 pigments!
3. The pigment is cheap looking (like coloured talc), and doesnt possess any of the appearance of real MAC.

Counterfeit makeup is not tested by DFA, and therefore can contain any harmful ingredient - which are unknown to the ebay seller/buyer. These ingredients can cause skin erosion, allergic reactions, toxicity, severe reactions, poisoning, blindness and even death. It is not to be viewed lightly - even if you have used without bad things happening the ingredients can react with other substances, its like having a timebomb in your makeup collection.
How professional of you..."

She didnt reply after that...

I just sent her another email, also stating that she has been reported to ebay. I shall report all her MAC items now.

Oh my god, I cant beleive she said that to you...doesnt she know that automatically proves they are fakes and rude reponces like that can be forwarded to ebay. She sure is a piece of work. Like you said, if they are rude to any questions she gets very devensive. Thats why ebay has the link to "ask a seller a question". I asked her where she got them from and if they were from a release I didnt know about, I played "dumb" just to see what she would say. I was even willing to buy the jar for cheap so I had proof it was a fake. I'm glad you also reported her. Ebay wrote me back several times wanting to know about her bad attitude. They asked for the original email so they could follow the paper trail and see how rude she was. I was suprised how much ebay got involved with it. You'd think by now though she would have been suspended at the least.

How do you report abuse from sellers? (Is there a link?)
Ive had quite a few that have been worse then that (swearing, vile accusations, threats, general abuse), and havent done anything but give them info, photographic evidence and reported their listings - if reporting abuse gets ebays attention and makes them look at the auctions, then it would be worth the few minutes it takes (when the abuse is genuine - im not the sort to 'set up' people, because i believe that would make me almost as bad as them).

I think you can send email evidence to [email protected] (USA), [email protected] (Australia), [email protected] (UK) and so on. Let me tell you first... its almost as frustrating as just "report listings".

I CONTACTED EBAY AND TOLE THEM ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED. THEY ASKED FOR THE FIRST QUESTION I ASKED SO THEY COULD FOLLOW THE EMAILS TO SEE WHAT SHE SAID. THEN I ALSO REPORTED HER FOR SELLING A FAKE. I DONT REMEMBER WHAT "CONTACT EBAY" LINK I USED BUT I'LL CHECK MY OLD EMAILS AND FINE OUT
smiles.gif
THEY SEEMED MORE CONCERED ABOUT HER ATTITUDE THEN THE FAKE FULL JAR. SINCE SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT HER I HOPE SHE'S KICKED OFF EBAY SOON...

REPORTING ABUSE REALLY DOES GET THEIR ATTENTION, EBAY WROTE ME 3 TIMES SAYING THAT DO NOT ACCEPT THAT KIND OF BEHAVIOR FROM MEMBERS. LIKE YOU I'D NEVER SET ANYONE UP OR LIE TO EBAY EVEN IF THEY ARE FAKE SELLERS, FAKES SELLERS I ONLY REPORT THAT THEY ARE FAKES. ABUSE I REPORT RIGHT AWAY. IT IS COOL THAT THEY CAN SEE FOR THEMSELVES BY TRACKING THE PAPER TRAIL AS LONG AS IT WAS DONE WITHIN EBAYS EMAIL SYSTEM. IT'S SAD TO SEE WHAT EBAY HAS COME TO IN THE COSMETICS WORLD.

AS USUALLY SORRY ALL FOR THE ALL CAPS...BAD HEALTH DAY

pampered*princess*products - http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/sear...oo% 3D1&fgtp=

Has some products that look real, but has classic fake eyeshadows and pigments (from the fake 'lot' list, which consist of *thanks to xsqueeze_me*:
Pigments: Melon, Vanilla, Fairylite, Rose, Pink Opal, Cornflower, Aire-de-blu, Dark Soul;
Eyeshadows: Jasmine, Freshwater, Black Tied, Kid, Club, Surreal, Humid, Falling Star, Sushi Flower, Gesso, Angelcake, Brun, Girlie, Swimming).

Also has auctions for obvious fakes such as these:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NIB-MAC-Pigmen...QQcmdZViewItem
(Colour difference could be due to the photo, but the font on the bottom line differs in thickness between words).

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NIB-MAC-Pigmen...QQcmdZViewItem
(Obvious fake Dark Soul).

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-MAC-Pigmen...QQcmdZViewItem
(Teal is not a light pastel green colour, its a darker bluey green - a colour difference that a camera/computer setting wouldnt produce. Also the font looks thick, and the '/' signs are different from each other).

Real teal (with the same light photo) looks like this, note the texture difference too:

I bought shadows from this seller & they weren't fake. Everything was labeled correctly with the correct batch numbers.
th_dunno.gif

With the exception of the Teal pigment (doesn't look like the right color at all), her pigments don't look fake either. If you look at any Mac jar they do have a base on them & if I compare my Mac jars with her pigments they have the same base. More pictures of the pigments would be necessary to say for sure. I'm not trying to stand up for someone who may not be legit, but I'm just not seeing the proof here.

Looking at further items...the Rose pigment base does look pretty thick. I would definitely ask for more pictures before buying the pigments (I haven't bought pigments from her before). She has so many other authentic items...MSF's, Mcqueen items...would she be selling authentic and fake items too??

If you look at this one. The top middle pigment is a fake one. The box has slashes that are not the same, the first one is more vertical.
That's one example. I think most of her items are real. BUT there are some in there that are definitely fake.

What slashes are you referring to? The ones in between the Net Wt? The box does look faded, but I have older pigments and some glitters with that type of box.

As far as i know, this is okay. Its only when you contact them when you are not 100% sure that it can be a problem i.e. slander etc. Stating facts and providing links/evidence shouldnt be against ebay policy. If they are doing something wrong, it is your right as a member to tell their buyers - akin to if a store was selling counterfeit products, i guess.

Ive seen quite a few sellers that have fakes mixed with authentic - it may be a conscious decision, they may have more than one supplier or they may buy 'lots' that have fakes mixed in. There are certain shades of eyeshadows and pigments (the shades i mentioned before) that can be really convincingly faked nowadays, and unless you have bought the same product from MAC, even an experienced buyer would have a job telling it was counterfeit. Ive heard this from seasoned MAC buyers that are experienced with counterfeit MAC, which is scary! As a general rule, i wouldnt touch any seller that has a great deal of those shades up for auction (they must be made as 'lots' - its always those shades that are counterfeited to that extent, that im aware of).

Yes the '/' signs - if one slants more than the other on the box then it is counterfeit (a classic trait only seen on counterfeit boxes - and if the box is counterfeit, why would the pigment be authentic?)

Unfortunately, anyone who emails a bidder or buyer on someone else's auction, to warn them in any way, is considered by ebay to be guilty of 'auction interference' whether what they tell them is the truth or not
