I just had a thought about the Fafi items, and their decorations being removable decals for the most part: what if this was intentional?
Now, I haven't been following MAC very closely for a really long time, but from what I can tell, they aren't known for going cheap, right?
Fafi's designs, as cute and harmless as I think they are, might be considered offensive by some customers. The cleavage, ultra-feminized and sexualized appearances, et cetera, might put some off, who consider the style indecent. Not saying that's me, or any of you maybe, but consider the older consumers, the customers purchasing for young girls...Maybe MAC utilized a removable design trying to cater to everyone's desires in this collection. Those of us who think the girls are cute and harmless, can keep our wraps on.
Anyone who, for whatever reasons they may have, would rather not have the designs on their purchases are free to remove them.
Just a thought, but it could very well be a touch of cheapness!
Or maybe even, it's a part of the overall theme of graffiti-as-art. A removable medium, temporary, and just sort of I don't know...I'm not explaining myself quite right.
