Adding a lipliner under a lipstick is no different than adding a gloss on top of a lipstick. Yes, some will completely change the color of the lipstick but others will enhance the lipstick color. Liners can really make the lip look more polished and last longer. It's all about finding the right liner and gloss for each lipstick. Hit or miss, it's worth it in the end.

I tried my Fashion Fenzy today and LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I am a sucker for pink blushes anyway, but of all I own, I can see this one becoming a favorite. Gahhh, I hate it when I fall in love with LE stuff! I hope I can get one more before it is gone for good!

REALLY? OMG I wasn ot sure if it would be worth it.

This collection is even better than Barbie- although maybe it is tied for me- each has its place.

You might as well have gotten a lipstick in the color that the Fafi lipstick + the lipliner would have made.

But in the case of High Top, The aqua liner pushes it up into phenomenal status - I have done it with other aqua shimmer lipsticks and it is amazing.

If you choose your liners carefully it can really add to a lipstick- esp these since they seem to be turning out to be amazingly unique

Agreed, liners always make my lipstick last longer and pop the lipstick color, just choose the right liner

Nordstrom.com still has it if you can't get it locally. I finally am able to wear one of these lipsticks -- I can do High Top with VGVI SE over it!

Just went to Nordies site & ordered another of both the FF & Hipness. They were sold out of fun n sexy

I love wearing Hipness for just everyday blush & no other makeup. I can see myself wearing both of these blush shades all spring & summer.

My freestanding store told me they are going to be reordering a bunch of Fafi stuff. They weren't sure whether they'd get it but they're hoping they will.

....what liner do you like to wear with your pink lipsticks -- Pink Treat? I would love to find a softer pink liner....

hehe...i do love pink

I use subculture, pink treat for medium colors, pink edge & rosebud for a softer look, creamola very lightly & i also really like this soft nude called medium by Kevyn Aucoin which is just slightly darker than my natural lip color, because it defines yet looks very natural. I don't always use liners though...i think its mostly a time thing

I only have one liner I wear with lipsticks. creme o spice. I have nude colors right now (besides utterly frivolous and viva glam v) I don't always wear the liner, but when i do it just makes me look done up and a little sexier. i don't always wear line though...The liner doesn't change the lipsticks at all. I only line my lips...I don't fill them in.

I don't really want to change a color. I'd rather add a gloss on top to make the lipstick work for me

Can anyone swatch the high top with viva glam SE over it?? I'd really appreciate it, if i can make the lipstick work then i want to buy it before it sells out.

Thanks. I love Subculture but for some reason I never think to use it with bluer pink lipsticks. Duh. I will have to try it! Who makes Pink Edge? I skip the liner more often than not too, but I sure own enough of them! LOL

I just tried but the pic came out terrible color-wise. I'll see if I can get a better one during the daytime, but basically the VGVI SE (and I imagine any gloss would do the same) tones down the blue glitter effect, which is what I wanted to do.

Finally got my Fafi and I'm sad

LOL. Well, kind of. I only go three things: Nice Vice PP (only thing I really wanted), High Top l/s (Since that and Strawbaby looked the most appealing to me) and Fafi Eyes 1.

High Top has NO color unless I really glob it on. If I go over and over it with my lips then the color shows up and after looking at it I'm growing to like it. I'm not a lipstick person so this actually works since its more just a glaze (which I guess is why they call it that, duh LOL). The blue shimmer is cool, IMO. So I'll wear it.

Nice Vice... Its a pretty color but the texture is horrible :S. I used my fingers to apply it so I'll have to try a brush cause it was hard to apply with my finger. It felt really dry. It was a pain to open, but luckily thanks to you girls I knew to bang it on my counter
greengrin.gif
.

Fafi Eyes 1... I don't know cause they sent me Faif Eyes 2
ssad.gif
. I had NO interest in the 2nd quad and I swatched it on my had and wow, those things have no color! So I called the customer service line and they shocked me buy telling me they'd ship me Fafi Eyes 1 and I could KEEP Fafi Eyes 2. I read that someone let them keep a paint pot and sent them a replacement but that was a $16.50 paint pot and not a $36 quad LOL. So I was surprised. I may sell Quad 2, though. I don't know, I'll have to see how I feel.

All in all I was disapointed. But... I'm going to keep trying High Top and since my VGVI SE is coming next week I will certainly try that over it! Try applying Nice Vice with a brush and think about a good starting price for the Quad LOL.

okay cool, thanks. Now what would you say the color outcome is? I mean I'll put any l/g over it, I just want to know what color it'll come out to be. A purple-ish berry type lipstick intrigues me, but as long as its not too bold, bright, dark, overpowering for my little nudie lips. basically a wash of sheer color is what I'm kind of going for.

My perky paint pot seemed really dry when i applied with my finger too. It was kind of gross lol. only seemed weird on my eye though--when i swatched on my wrist it was great. I gotta figure out which brush to use!

how pigmented are your lips?

That is weird. I have like medium (dark pinkish) lips and when the MA put HT on me it was pretty purple. Not "pretty purple" but "very purple" LOL. Maybe it had something to do with the liner she put on too

I should just order the damn lipstick already!!
