Here's a look I did with Taupe Grise, Lily, Sillage and Platine (with Espresso liner), In Love JC, and Rose Dentelle with Rose Dilemma glossimer.......getting ready for fall?

And again, the camera can't seem to capture the details....must be my dippy little camera.....

The lip combo comes out way pinker on me than it looks in the tubes........

Shypo, I am loving those colors on you! I finally got to get my Fall goodies at Macy's yesterday, I can't wait to use my Enigma quad!!! I got 2 glossimers also, but I don't remember the names...lol. I wanted to get the Taupe Gris but I will wait just a tiny bit longer.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I looked at pictures of Karen from MUABB wearing Pink Explosion blush and I don't like it on her. I think it looks ashy and blotchy. Also, there's another blog that I check up on from time to time that says PE has a different texture from the usual Chanel blush. I'm worried now. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

Supposedly all these blushes are the Euro formula (they say Made in France rather than Made in USA), and the Euro formula is reputed to be more powdery. I used Rose Temptation and didn't notice a difference.

I'll report back when I try out PE.

It is the Euro formula (no mineral oil) but my Pink explosion does not have nearly the powdery look that Sabrina's does in her pics.

I have no problem with mine, personally.

Looks like Karla went to her Chanel counter so I think her Fall swatches won't be far behind. She has an interesting post about JCs today:

Vive la Différence: Chanel Rose Petale - The Next Best Thing To Going Shopping Yourself

It's funny that I thought Sabrina's Rose petale looked peachier than mine next to her Pink explosion and assumed it was the difference in our skin tone. Maybe it's also the difference in our Rose petales! lol

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I found that while swatching Orchid Rose - it swatched more orangish at Nordies & a little less orangey at Saks, then at Macys it was a beautiful kinda neutral light peachy pink rosey shade
th_dunno.gif

I thought that perhaps it was just from cooties in the testers
lol.gif
because it was a virgin tester at Macys so it only had my fingers touch it

why can't Canada get Chanel earlier? We're more "French" lol!

I completely agree!

But August 9th isn't so bad. It's almost only a month away! And since I gotta wait till then, I think I'll go ahead and get the two single shadows I've been lemming with my $10 beauty VIP discount!

Yay!!! The only thing I'm wondering is whether the mineral powder helps it last longer, because I'm telling ya my Rose Bronze from the U.S. has great staying power.

I found it strange as well, because I have Rose Petale from about 3 years ago and it's not peachy at all.

My Orchid Rose went orangish from the beginning...

On the topic of Chanel JC's, I applied the bronzing base yesterday and then Narcisse over it. Looked really nice when I first had it on, but when we got home last night there was no colour to be seen on my cheeks...
th_dunno.gif
So now I'm not sure if it's the bronzing base or the JC, but I wasn't too pleased.

This is interesting. A faulty tester?

Now I have this nagging feeling inside of me that I would love the US JC more. I have a problem with blushes staying on me. Usually they last about 6 hours on me only and I'll look pale by afternoon.
ssad.gif
But I do love the look and finish of these JC on me. I have Narcisse JC (Euro version, not sure if there is a US version) and it is very sheer on me. I have to layer it on with another blush.

Thank you! These are my kind of colors - as Karin mentioned, she loves taupe and pink - it's probably the first makeup combo I fell in love with and and never tire of!!

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

All of this about the JCs is very interesting. I just received Orchid Rose yesterday, and mine is a very cool-toned light rose...not quite pink, but definitely not remotely peach.

I also have some problems with staying power - usually with Narcisse because it's so light anyway, but I do much better if I have some sort of primer under foundation, and then a setting powder over that, before applying my blush. In the summer I just wear tinted moisturizer over primer (and MUFE's HD powder), and this provides an ok base, but overall the JCs don't wear on me as well as MAC blushes do.
th_dunno.gif

What a kick in the pants to have to check out different shades of the same color in different stores! I know I pick through MAC's MSFs to find the 'perfect' combo, but to have to do it for a 'single'-color blush? That's just
th_crazy.gif
. I hope Chanel fixes it SOON! I'm way too obsessive-compulsive!

There was a US Narcisse but it's discontinued. Ours was very sheer as well, but noticeably less cool toned than the Euro Narcisse (I tried both). Actually it never showed up on me, I guess because despite my paleness I often have a little redness in my cheeks because of my rosacea.

P.S. I ordered Pink Teaser glossimer and Cassis liner yesterday.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I feel like I have been gone forever even though it has only been a few days. Lots to catch up on.

I got my fall goodies on Wednesday and here are my thoughts:

Enigma quad is a must have. Beautiful complex shades in a wonderful formula. Very sexy.

Cassis e/l. I love this. On me it pulls as a very dark plum. Great for green eyes. Brown eyed girls could rock this one too.

Paradoxal n/p. Honestly y'all I've never seen anything like this. It looks like it has some blue/purple shimmer in the bottle but it is not obvious on the nail. Very complex, unusual, stunning color.

I passed on PE and the lippies. They were nice but I couldn't get passed the feeling that I had seen similar colors before and probably have some things in my case already that were just as nice. Leaves more money for RALs that way.

Does anyone know if there is a place where Demoniac e/l may still be available?

And on an off topic note..kind of...why is it that lately the smallest Chanel purchase makes me happier than a huge MAC haul?

This is exactly how I feel about Chanel purchases and I totally understand what you mean. The whole Chanel experience...the packaging, the quality of the products, the colors, even the smell of some items (!!!) just takes me to my happy place. Every single Chanel item I end up with is special to me, and in my eyes that's how it should be!

I'm heading out today to get the rest of my Fall goodies and pick up a special "welcome to Chanel" birthday present for my sister in law, should be fun!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend, and happy 4th to the US girls!

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I've been a bad girl. I just saw the new Burberry line on Nordstrom.com.....and I ordered a couple of things (eye shadow, blush), just to give it a go. I may end up returning it, but I couldn't resist. I guess Chanel has made me something of a makeup snob.
th_dunno.gif

April, I know what you mean about the small luxuries being more exciting than giant hauls.....I'm getting that way myself! And given the fact that I won't be getting the new MAC stuff until their anniversary (I HATE THAT! But I like the triple points!) I sort of lose steam in the excited department. I think like some others have mentioned in other posts on other threads, the hype is just that. Hype. Maybe I'm 'maturing' in my 'old age'. I wouldn't give up my MAC collection as I am still a MAC addict, BUT, I think I may be moving away from 'collector' to 'consumer'.
