Personally, I think Chanel does pinks really well. If you can get your hands on Genial, I would recommend it. I think Chanel "signature" is different for everyone. It's wearing what you love and rocking it.

I've seen these brushes at a local dept store, contemplated getting them until the sales lady said 120$. Needless to say I just could not bring myself to buy short handled brushes even if they are Chanel. Who knows I might change my mind but so far that time hasn't come yet.

Really, they have them out already?

Genial is no where close to being sold out in the TDOT. I've been noticing that i've been drifting towards Chanel pink starting with Rouge Allure 167 Super which broke my heart due to its scarcity.

What do you mean by 'not signature Chanel'? Red? If you're not after a red, there are some very pretty Rouge Coco colors that would be good on dark skin -

If you want a good lacquer, Rouge Allure Lacque in Dragon is a beautiful red color that is very wearable (although I know you said you really didn't want another red, but you want something 'signature Chanel')....

What makeup colors do you like to wear? Do you normally do a bold lip with a strong eye, a bold eye with a nude lip, or a balanced look?

Yes, signature Chanel to me is red. It's funny because I get a lot of compliments when I wear plummy/red colours. ie. Purple rage from Spring Colour Forecast (MAC)

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_zjHLbQBbLM...cludeMe-72.jpg

I am more partial to eyeshadow so 3/5 times I'll do crazy shadow nude lip. But I'm not afraid to do a bright lip and winged out liner. (Balance is BORING!
greengrin.gif
) I'll definitely consider your rec for Dragon

Compiled List:
Glossimer in Pink Teaser and Venus (gold sparkles are purddy)
Rouge Cocos in Chalys (either this or Genial)
Rouge Allure in Paris (I know I said no reds, but I can't resist because 1. It's a bit deeper of a red which I prefer 2. The Pixiwoo girls like it 3. It's what I consider to be signature Chanel)
Rouge Allure Laque in Phoenix (love this!) and Dragon (recc'd, thanks!)
Rouge Allure in Genial

This list will prob be edited down to three or four items depending on how sheer the products are; which seem to be a running trait with Chanel? How similar the colours are and of course cost. Maybe i'll trick my mother into taking me down to Holts tomorrow.

My love for MAC has diminshed since doing my research on Chanel. Thank you guys so much for your advice! Feel free to pass on more since i've gone just a tad more in depth.

Not sure if these are the new ones or some that have been in the case from another time. But they are indeed the same ones.

HI!!

Nude and Ardant Rouge Allures are beautiful pale lippies.

The famous Rouge Noir (now in Rouge Coco) is as "Signature Chanel" as there can ever be. The shade was actually created by Coco Chanel and it was the only thing she wore since then until her last day on this earth.
th_wink3.gif

Oh! Rouge Noir it's a purplish dark red/wine.

What a difference the actual running shoes have made.

Hun, good running shoes must actually be pink!!

Agreed, Rouge Noir is definitely signature Chanel. Lisa Eldridge (love her!) has a great demo of the Rouge Noir RC formula in action on YouTube. As for the RA Laques, Dragon is of course the beloved classic red, Ming is a soft pink that I think would look so pretty on darker skin tones, and I'm a sucker for Coromandel because it's so shockingly bright (but unfortunately it's a red too)!

Yay, welcome back! Glad to hear you had a good time. The hubby and I have lived in CO for a little while now and still have no idea where to visit. We're both planning on trying snowboarding this coming season though, so we'll see what happens there.

The rest of my Chanel Fall stuff came today! Cassis, Khaki and Vert Khaki e/s singles...love everything. I had already tested/seen these at the counter but either didn't buy or they were already sold out (Cassis, hmmph!), happy to have them in my hands now. MAC-wise, I'm being bad. I didn't expect to like ITG this much, but as the hubby so correctly pointed out "it's make-up, right? Did you really think you wouldn't like it?".

What do you think of Cassis?

Me too, I bought way more than I thought I would from ITG

Well I was pretty good with ITG. I'm proud of myself!
tong.gif
However....after trekking the 1.5 hours to my Chanel counter earlier in the week to compare my Orchid Rose with theirs and finding them the same I *had* to justify the trip and bought the 2 e/s singles and Chintz lipstick, all of which I love!

Did you get your Cassis yet - or too early?

Yes, I was also pretty bad with ITG - much moreso than I thought I would be. Have to postpone the UCLR serum purchase for a bit....hope the samples last!

The next big thing to hit will be the duos at the end of this month.....hoo boy!

In case anyone has not seen this yet, Sabrina reviewed the Nordstrom exclusive e/s quad:

The Beauty Look Book: Chanel Quatuor Boutons de Chanel (Nordstrom Anniversary 2010)

Cassis has been an everyday-wear for me since I got it - I think I mentioned before I'm considering a first-ever Chanel backup. I'm not sure if it's perm or not, but it is by far my favorite liner - of any that I have - and that's saying a LOT (I'm a big UD 24/7 liner fan, along with some MUFE Waterproof liners).

Thanks for the line Winthrop! I agree with Sabrina - I found the quad
noworry.gif
- the color payoff just isn't there compared to some of the other quads. To me, it's not worth the price without the payoff, and I don't need to spend extra for overspray.

I might have to see if Neimans has Cassis back in stock. Is it matte or shimmery? I love Urban Decay 24/7 liners -- so if you love it more than that, it must be fabulous!!
yes.gif
I went to go see if Waterlilly was still in stock -- but nope. Now I have missed out on Venus and Waterlilly --
cry.gif
. I guess I'll order from the permanent line -- I've been wanting Magnifique and Mica. I'm sure I can find lots of other colors to keep me happy

Cassis is matte. Chanel.com still has Waterlilly and Cassis is in stock there as well. If you go to retailmenot.com there is a code on there 0610NYLON that still worked for me the other day to get free shipping!

Chanel Coupon Codes - all coupons, discounts and promo codes for chanel.com

Did you try calling a Nordstrom counter for Venus? That's how I got mine. They will do a search for you and send it free shipping if they don't have it themselves but can locate one for you. Good luck! It really is worth hunting down.

The 2 new ones for fall are both gorgeous and I think they are perm too. Rose dentelle is a soft mauvey rose and Chintz is a soft peachy pink. They look alot alike in the tubes and swatched on skin but a little more different from each other on lips. If you are not opposed to some shimmer/frost (I think it shows up differently depending on lip pigmentation) you might like Rose comete from the originally released ones. Or if you want something bolder the coral one from fall is nice too. Karla has great swatches of the 3 fall ones:

And here are the originals:

Susanne, what shades do you like? Reds/corals/pinks? There is a good selection now, especially with the new fall shades which are pink and soft.

Thanks for your thoughts about Cassis, Cheryl. I thought of passing it as I have a few 24/7 liners and I like them because they are so creamy and smooth, even the Chanel eyeliners are not as creamy. Well, it looks like I need Cassis.

I'm sorry you couldn't get it. I got the last set at the counter after I went to three counters. However, my powder and blush brushes shed, especially the powder brush.
th_dunno.gif

Three more weeks before I get the fall collection! This is a long wait. I thought there would be an Asia exclusive collection or something like that, where there is a JC called Pink Clouds? I don't see it yet.

I love my reds from MAC, so pink or rose would be great.
