Maybe I should get more into Dior, since we have one of those in our Macy's here. But there is just something about Chanel that I daydream about

I hear you... I wouldn't know what I'd do without a counter nearby.

And I found out that only a few counters got the summer 2010 collection - even the major Macy's at the big mall near me did not get it - and they've got a huge counter! I'm glad my MUA at Nordstrom (who is MAC) does not mind helping me with other cosmetics in the department (she's FAB!) or else I'd be out of luck!

Does anyone have any other recs? I'm considering Rouge Orage - it's very pretty too.....but not a slam dunk for me (yet

).

Might have to check out more of the Aqualumiere sheer lip colors too - what a nice surprise they are!

You're lucky to have such a kind and helping MA!!

Aqualumiere are wonderful!! Best lippies with SPF hands down. They are pretty, comfortable and really hydrating!!

That's always been a complaint of mine. I guess they don't care because the only place you can get Chanel online (from Chanel site) it's the States.

I really wish I had gotten some of the older ones, like Pink Ribbons and some of the other pretty pink ones in the swatch thread.....ah well. Certainly there is no shortage of goodies to wish for!
drools.gif

Of course my dear.

Scintillance
it's a duochromie golden pink. It's a golden pink with very finely milled gold sparkles, so finely that the whole effect it's a duochrome one. It's not sheer or transparent, but it's not a dark or cheap shade. It doesn't gives a cheap look, but a sexy one. It's very much alike MAC Expensive Pink e/s. It's one of the earlier shades ever released, and last time I checked (last week) it was in the US site. It's gorgeous on the center of the lips, very sexy and warms up almost any lippie on.

Mica beige??? What's up with that!!
th_crazy2.gif

I don't have Pink Ribbons, as it wasn't released here, but I have some really old shades. I've been collecting Levres Scintillantes for 12-13 years now.

Hypathya ~ Thank you for all of your answers -- I appreciate your expertise! I would love to hear your thoughts on the eyeshadow quads also. I hear mixed reviews. I have been wanting to get Mystic Eyes for a while now. I have also been eyeing Dunes and Demure -- but so impossible to tell the texture and how pigmented they are by the swatches online. I've heard some say that the singles are the way to go. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Now I'm lemming more RAs - I have my eye on Surprise, though it may be too purple on me - will have to try it. There are a couple of others that are appealing too, though I'm at a loss to name them at the moment.

Thanks for the description of Comdedia -- must.get.now!! Keep me posted on any other Rouge Allures you love. I live vicariously through all of you who have access to a Chanel counter!

You ladies have talked me into Comedia. Since it sold my heart last fall, I believe I should get it and pass Super. I will wear Comedia a lot but not Super, I guess.

Getting ready today I discovered a new favorite lip combo!
winkiss.gif

Maldives Auqualumiere lipstick (it was LE but I got it off the website -- a gorgeous peachy color with a hint of pink shimmer). I topped it with MAC Nymphette -- true love! I used MAC Subculture liner and filled in my lips before using Maldives. The greatest Peachy pink color!

One day I'll get the hang of this thing - I thought the free shipping was good until today, silly me.
fool.gif
I placed an order for Malvides and Grenada AL lip sheers, and Hirondelle gloss - and got whacked with the $9.95 shipping - oh well, I guess I saved the tax anyway, so not a complete loss I guess. I'll pay better attention next time.

I tried to order things that Nordstrom doesn't have on their site - I hope I like them!

Maldives sounds pretty from your description, Bonitinha - I'm such a sucker for things other people really like!

Slightly off topic and I feel like this belongs in the Fragrance section, but you ladies are so knowledgeable about Chanel I thought I'd ask here... I'm looking for a summer scent for myself and I'm very interested in Chanel Chance Eau de Fraiche.. but I'm curious about the lasting power. Do any of you lovely ladies have this perfume? Can you tell me about it?

Interview went OK. I always have trouble telling how those things went. But, they asked for references, so I figure they wouldn't have done so if they didn't want to follow up. Now it's just wait and see...

Thank you everyone for your well wishes!

I hope you like them! That shipping charge is outrageous, isn't it? Is Hirondelle number 707? I got that same gloss when I ordered Maldives, too. It is a hint of peachy pink with a ton of shine! They are so pretty together! I actually first saw that combo on Troy Jensen's blog -- a look he did with Rachel McAdams -- I ordered those products immediately!

Oooh, I just took another peak at Hirondelle -- looks gorg! (Adds Hirondelle to list . . . ) Now I want that one LOL. I love Calibri -- I guess it is more of a champagne-y pink color (I think I called it a peachy pink). It would look great over almost any lipstick!!

It's my pleasure dear!!

I'm affraid, I can't be truly impartial here, I LOVE my quads.
love.gif

I have every single one released internationally since 2004... that's how much I love them!!

But here it goes. Above all, awesome selection of 4 colors, every single time. The eyeshadows are well pigmented, but you have to build the color. Each time you dip your brush just a bit of powder gets on it and the result it's very sheer. I have the feeling, that even when I have to build up color, I'm using less dust than when usign MAC eyeshadows. But must warn you, on each quad you get 1.2 grs versus 5.2 grs you get with MAC. I've noticed too that color pay off has increased over the years. The eyeshadows are really finelly milled and have a texture you just can't compare. Another thing that's great about Chanel eyeshadows, it's they're baked, so they never shatter and are never dustie or powdery.

The single eyeshadows are gorgeous, some colors are really unique. I feel you don't have to build up color as you have with quads.

As Chanel it's a luxury brand, it wasn't intended for young girls or women in the beginning. I guess that's why you have to build up the color, so you'll get as much as you want and avoid the heavy look.

Sadly, Dunes and Demure were US exclusive, so I couldn't get my hands on those.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I just cannot believe how lame Chanel 'service' is - first, their website leaves a WHOLE lot to be desired, and secondly, I decided to call to make sure they cancelled my order (of Super and Genial). I had to be placed on hold, and the rep came back and said she would send an email to someone to get the order cancelled, but it might ship anyway. If it did, I was to refuse the package. I reminded her that the items were backordered, so she said it 'should' be fine then. What a joke! In the meantime, I got a response to my email (the one I sent when no one would answer the phone on Sunday) telling me to call the 800 number to cancel the order.

They obviously trade on their brand - no customer service required because it's Chanel. Definitely not shopper-friendly, and still back in the dark ages.

Yeesh, I expect more when I'm paying these kinds of prices. Here's hoping Nordstrom can come through on selection when I need them to!

I finished a 100ml bottle! It is the only perfume I finished and it took only two years! It lasts well on me, like Shadowy Lady. It smells quite strong when I just spray it on but I find that many people I am in contact with actually can accept the fragrance, as compared to Coco Mademoiselle or other perfumes.

I also have the shimmery bottle lotion.

I should get a new bottle of the perfume so that I can use them both together.

Shypo -- how frustrating! I just got an email from Chanel today that they are doing a complimentary 2nd day shipping. Darn it -- just after you placed your order!! That is so strange that the lady said just to refuse the package -- often when I order things, they just ring the bell and leave in on my doorstep. I agree, they really need to improve their website!!

Hypathya ~ Next time I am at a Nordstrom counter, I will definately check out their quads. I keep asking you about colors that are US exclusives -- I will get this whole international release thing down eventually

The eyeshadow quads sound amazing -- they sound like they might not have as much fallout (a major pet peeve!!) as other brands. When are the duos coming out for summer (are those an international launch?)?? I saw the swatches on Temptalia and was in love!

And thanks for all your advice on the Chanel Chance Eau de Fraiche.. I'm so tempted!
