I tried to get the Super lippie.. and it was sold out no matter where I tried.
So I ordered it from Nordies -- and they sent me Surprise (boy what a surprise) instead.. lol.

Surprise is a lovely pinky/mauvey color and does look great on me. I will keep it but it is not what I wanted... grr. Anyway, I did get Genial which is fantastic

I recall Super still being available on the Neiman Marcus website, if you want to give it a second try.

Speaking of which, is Gardenia a limited edition color?? If I walk into my nearest Neiman Marcus (which is kind of far), will it be likely/unlikely that they'll still have it in stock behind the counter? I really like the swatches I've seen of it and they don't have it on their website.

^^ Yes, Gardenia is LE in Neiman Marcus, but all the counters in my country have it.

Chanel Summer collection is the one I'm the least interested in every year too. But sometimes, they have pretty lipsticks and n/p, just like this year and 2008. Last year's was boring, I passed the entire collection.

I'm still on the fence for the gloss fluo and Super. Now I'm tempted to get the bronzer! They are very finely milled! I have Sunkissed from the Spring collection which is a liquid bronzer I bought after hearing the good things you said about it. It is subtle and perfect for everyday use. Genial is definite though, I will get it soon.

As for the duos, I'm leaning towards the Khaki-yellow cream one but I'm not certain. Can't wait to see them IRL!

If your counter doesn't have it anymore they can do a search for you in their computer system and have it sent to you from another store with no shipping charge.

Does anyone have the Winter Nights quad...and do you love it? How are you liking your Demure quad Shypo?

Are there any Aqualumiere lipstick and lipgloss shades that you ladies recommend? I like sheer color for summer -- but I've read about some of the shades being *too* sheer. Would love any suggestions!!

Hi everyone,

I am actually the OP of this thread. I haven't been around Specktra lately because I've pretty much fallen out of love with MAC. However, I have been falling more and more in love with Chanel. I remembered that I started a thread on Chanel products and expected to have to come in here and do a search for it, but there it was right at the top as a sticky! Glad to see everyone is enjoying the thread and looks like I better come around here more often!

I tried the Hydramax cream and serum as samples last year because of Elegant's recommendations. I LOVED them, but couldn't afford to start a new skincare regime at the time (I knew that if I got a cream, I would want more and more things!). This year, I got the Hydramax cream and am so in love with it that I've added several more skincare products. I now have:
-Hydramax + Active active moisture cream
-Gommage Microperle Eclat extra radiance exfoliating gel
-Mousee Douceur rinse-off foaming mousse cleanser balance + anti-pollution
-Beaute Initiale Eye energizing multi-protection eye cream anti-puffiness/dark
circles SPF 15
-UV Essentiel SPF 50 UVA/UVB

I've tried a sample of one of the cleansing milks, but like the mousse cleanser better. They are both nice, though! I will probably purchase the Hydramax serum at the beginning of next winter when I will start to need even more hydration. The eye cream and the sunscreen are my newest acquisitions, but I love them so far! The sunscreen is ridiculously expensive, but a TREAT to use.

As far as makeup goes, I haven't purchased too much yet. I have one of the single eyeshadows in Le Bronze. I love the colour and use it a lot. I do think it is a high quality eyeshadow, but I won't say it's the best. I still think Dior makes better eyeshadows.

LOVE the new Rouge Cocos. I have Mademoiselle and Rose Comete.

I have Particuliere and Nouvelle Vague nail polishes. Both such unique, wonderful colours. Wish I didn't miss out on Jade! I find Chanel n/p lasts longer on me than OPI and is much nicer to paint with. I actually like the smaller brush.

Lastly, I have the highlighter concealer pen in Beige Rose. I use in on my undereye circles. It's actually pretty good coverage for a highlighter concealer and it does brighten. I think the pink tinge helps. I have such bad undereye circles and everything I have tried just settles into lines or looks cakey (and I am 24 with pretty minimal fine lines). I have given up trying to cover them completely and have just been using radiance products instead. I am VERY interested in try Cle de Peau, though.

That's all I've tried so far! I am wanting to try either a pressed or loose powder and probably one of the blushes that I've heard great things about! Oh and the glossimers for sure! Too much too buy!

I just received the Demure quad yesterday - and I think I'm going to wear Murano today....but I will definitely let you know how I like it!!

I thought I had Winter Nights as well, but apparently I do not (I'm not the greatest with keeping the names straight with the quads

)....something else to add to the perpetual 'list'?

Bonitinha - I am going to Nordie's tonight and will try to sample some of the colors - if they're being dicontinued, I guess now is the time to get what you want - I'll let you know what I discover!

Hi HerGreyness! I've been wondering where you are!

I have been thinking about Surprise for awhile.....my hair is naturally silver/dark, dark brown (almost black) but I have been coloring it lately (gasp) so I don't think Surprise will look as good on me as when my hair is its normal color.....but I LOVE the color! Sorry you didn't get what you were after - I tried to order it from Nordie's site last week but couldn't find it listed. I ended up calling my MAC MUA/friend who put it aside for me there at the store. I'm sure if you call them they will do a DTC, especially if the site doesn't have it......

I will try to swatch these later today, and maybe post a look (again, gasp!) but for color description, here goes:

Top left corner: medium rosy shimmer with sort of a gold undertone....I used this on my center lid

Top right corner: vanilla shimmer - almost barely there but a very nice highlight

Lower left corner: peachy-pink shimmer - another good highlight that shows up a bit more than the vanilla color

Lower right: matte almost espresso brown - extremely pigmented

VERY neutral, very classic, very versatile! If you're going for *pow*, this isn't the quad - it's going to be great for everyday or when I want a more understated eye.....just like the name implies

I tried to get Riviera today, but turns out, it's about as big of a seller as Nouvelle Vauge was. The counter I went to only got 3 in and they were gone lickety-split. I didn't even try to go to the other counter since I know that's where everyone else would've headed. Oh well...I'll just have to wait for Chanel to release the next pretty hot pink.

I know on the Nordstrom site they still have the Winter Nights quad. I have been thinking about that one ever since I saw Karen (makeupandbeautyblog) do a look with it. A-mazing! I really need to get into some quads -- the swatches online make them all look similar!
I tried Legende today (I got a sample with my order). Loving it -- I put a sheer pale pink gloss over it and it looks fab. My ever growing list is ridiculous! Have you swatched Rose Comete? I am really interested in that one -- just hoping it isn't too frosty.

Elegant -- I am jealous you got a hold of Mistral. When I saw Karla's swatches, I thought Illusion D'or would look so pretty over Mistral also! I love all pink polishes lol. They seem to all be sold out!

Rose Comete is lovely! It is a pale pink with a tinge of lilac. I would say it is more shimmery than frosty - in a good makes-your-lips-look-more-pouty kinda way. It is a very subtle colour. The other RC I have is Mademoiselle and that colour is more noticeable.

Now I want to try Legende! How does that one compare with Rose Comete?

Legende is much more rosy-mauve-toned, almost a muted red, but not red in the red-red sense

. It doesn't have a ton of shimmer, but it gives the lips a nice bit of color.....Rose Comete is more pink, and as you say, shimmery, but not frosty.

I'm not sure if that helps or not

I love cool toned pinks -- so I think I would love Rose Comete. I got a little sample of Legende. It is a medium toned pink -- like Shypo said -- a rosy pink. Temptalia described it as "a raspberry pink with a pearl shimmer". It was kind of a brighter pink on me (but definately not a hot pink) -- but I loved it with a pale gloss over it. I think I need it and Rose Comete! I got a sample of Mademoiselle, too -- can't wait to try that one out

^Thanks for the review of the Demure quad, Shypo! It sounds really pretty (I'm a sucker for neutral palettes).

So I just got back from Paris, I went to Sephora and got to play with the new eyeshadow duos..! The colour pairings are very muted, not as interesting as the Irreelle duos IMO. They also have a different texture from the Irrelle shadows - it reminds me a lot more of the fine shimmery textures you see in the quads. They're not overly shimmery, but the ones I swatched were definitely not matte. I liked the look of the khaki duo the most, the deeper colour seemed quite pigmented.

I also picked up eyeshadow singles in Safari and Cinnamon. I love the soft texture, but wish Cinnamon was a little darker, it's not quite doing it for me as a crease colour. I might pick up Magic Night to use for that instead.
