Its superb imho! If you know what your skin is like - dry, oily, combo - just go to a counter (if you can) & ask for some samples to test out on your skin first.

Any questions - ask away

I like the blonde black one too.

Chanel sunglasses look so beautiful. I've never tried on one though. I wear glasses all the time as I'm short-sighted, so I have no idea how I'm ever going to wear sunglasses if I don't wear contact lens. Does Chanel make sunglasses with degreed lens?

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

Oh, I wanted to share one of my beauty things/tip that the Chanel girl & I talked about. I use MAC's Cream Color Base in Root (unfortunately its discontinued) Its a middle of the road brown, not too cool or warm with very subtle shimmer. It's always my base. Even though I always do a smokey brown (mostly) or grey, I found that if you layer any color over it - even like a pale pink, or white/ivory it pops more but with a beautiful subtlety. I layer sushi flower, grey blues, anything & it works so much better at least for me.

So, I said to the Chanel girl when I was swatching Heather Rose, that I would wear it over a soft brown & she says yes, thats what she was going to tell me she would do.

It may not work well for everyone, but just thought I would share.

I don't mind some cream es - if they have good consistency. But, the down side is that they do/can dry out

I love Root. I don't have it anymore but it was my first ever MAC purchase. It's still available, just Pro now:

Thank you! I'm so lucky to be able to share it here and always finding out more as we move along!

I'll be upset if my chanel cream e/s duo dry up and I don't use it much. If I can pass the duos then I save some money, which is a good thing, and the money will likely go to another makeup item.

Really! It was one of my very first MAC purchases too! I have a couple of them & none of my CCB's have ever dried out. I did not know it was Pro only now. I'm glad its still available. Thanks

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I love all these tips, and the sunglasses too Megan!!

I'm (ugh) cleaning house today - major overhauls going on.....my sons are painting our 4 decks (don't ask, we bought the house that way
winks.gif
) and general landscaping/yard work, and I'm busy inside organizing and throwing away stuff, while at the same time converting my older son's room into a spare/makeup room (fun!
girlhaha.gif
). It's amazing what accumulates. I'm even reorganizing my makeup (which, believe me, is no small task).

Such a good feeling when it's done, though I'm a long way from that yet.

Hope you ladies are enjoying your day - in the US, happy Memorial Day! Remember those who serve and have served!!

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

Love those Dior sunglasses Megan! I hope the oversize look never goes out of style - the bigger the sunglasses, the more protective they are and the more helpful for preventing wrinkles! Plus, they look so chic. I have a pair of Chanel sunglasses and I just loooove them. I'm pretty careful with putting them in their case when I'm not wearing them. Don't want to lose those babies!

I don't have any experience with cream shadows, so don't know if I will like the new duos or not. From what I've heard, cream shadows crease easier and I really hate that, so they might not be for me.

yazerella - Like Shypo said, there is tons of info throughout this thread on the skincare as many of us love it. My favourite is probably the Hydramax + Active cream. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask!

Happy Memorial Day to all of you in the US!

Me too - cleaning & throwing stuff out today. The kids get on us for all the stuff we save
th_dunno.gif
They'll find out some day how it all just seems to accumulate.

I turned our son's room into yep - one of those rooms too. Most times it just turns into one big open closet
lol.gif
I seriously need to reorganize my makeup too - its getting started thats the hard part & then after I read up, I can never find anything.
tong.gif
You get used to a certain item being in that place

I will HAVE to get Taupe Delicat es duo - thats the one they said was used on the model in that fall preview link. I loved that look on her.

Boy, you're not kidding. I think I'm going to post things in the sale thread - I have so many backups of MAC stuff that I'll never use it all - some folks would probably jump at the chance to have some of this stuff......yikes. I think it will make me think twice about buying backups again!
ssad.gif

I think I need another week to get all of this stuff sorted - of course, it takes longer when I take a 'computer' break!

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I'll have no choice but to reorganize my make-up when we move. It's actually kinda bugging me that all my make-up will be in limbo between moves! I found a cabinet at walmart for $60 that's meant for the washroom (it sits on the floor), but I'll be putting it in our new closet. I kinda had it all in different storage containers and a traincase before, but I want it all in one place! And while we're at my parents, I'll have no choice but to store everything but my daily essentials in the basement because my dad has a real issue with turning on the AC. He only turns it on if he know we'll have hot weather for several continuous weeks,
angry.gif
but in TO, the hot balmy days can be sporadic some sumnmers, when other times it'll be sweltering for weeks on end. I can't stand when my lippies get sweaty!

hey girls, I'm back from my 10-day vacation and I really missed all of you. Lotsa to catch up now it seems

Shontay, I've got both Genial and Niagara (by nars) and they are similar. Niagara is not quite as neon though. Both are gorgeous pinky corals

Wow, I had no idea that there is a Chanel discussion thread
blush-anim-cl.gif

Picked up my second Chanel lipstick ever in Génial today. The first one I never really wore, because I could not stand the smell of it. But Génial not just looks amazing, there is also nearly no smell. Hope the same for the taste.

And I also got Nouvelle Vague. The collection was sold out in one day. Seems people buy makeup when the weather is bad

After reading all your reviews I feel like getting out my Chanel eyeshadows again

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I'm actually cleaning/re-organizing as well...what a pain in the butt!
lol.gif

I've been looking for a new storage solution for make-up and I think I've finally got an idea I can work with. We don't have tons of space in our current bedroom, so I can't have a vanity yet (Boo!). I need something that will hold all of my stuff and look pleasing with our current furniture and can also be used later on for something else when I DO get a vanity area. I found this lingerie chest at a local furniture store, and while it's not the one for me, it's a starting point!

Here's a link:
Madison Lingerie Chest : American Furniture Warehouse, Colorado's Largest Furniture Store

This one is a bit too wide, but most lingerie chests are tall and thin and that will be perfect. I'd be able to use all different kinds of drawer organizers and I really like the fact that everything would be in a closed, safe environment. Anyway, it's at least something to look into more.

Don't work too hard ladies, and enjoy the rest of your day!

That is such work its not even funny. It would drive me crazy having to pack up & store all the makeup. But I guess the good side is, even your makeup will have a new home. The storage unit sounds great!
