Hi!

Glad you like the bronzer. I always enjoy how great some of Chanel's products smell. I think I will love the smell too. Does it take a long time to blend it out nicely and evenly?

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

As much as I love all things Chanel - I just can't seem to buy their cosmetics. (Except for the glossimers, fragrances and nail polish, that is.)

Here in Canada, it is quite difficult to return things and what if you buy an eyeshadow palette and it isn't as great as you thought it would be? We can't return it and that becomes a costly mistake. MAC allows returns.... not so easy at The Bay, but the free standing MAC stores are very nice about it. They don't want you to keep what doesn't work.

It is extremely difficult for me to purchase cosmetics while under pressure. How does everyone here go about buying very expensive cosmetics? Especially when we probably already have a drawer full of shadows, lipsticks and blushes.

Yes it blends beautifully & I really liked how you can build the coverage without it looking like George Hamilton

(google him if ya don't know)
I just used my 168 se that came in all those christmas brush sets that I have & it worked just fine. I am super impressed with it. I also have a feeling that it blends in with whatever your natural skin tone is. It gets a 6 stars in my book. Ahhhh that beautiful light smell. I kept sniffing the jar

It actually really helps me having everyone here! Being able to talk things out, good or bad, about anything I'm debating makes my decisions way easier. The price tag makes you think, that's for sure. In all honesty though, I find what I get from Chanel really satisfies me. All the thought means I'm getting what I REALLY want. Sometimes with a MAC haul I think less about the product itself and more about the "gotta have that, it looks cute...it's crazy LE, I'll never forgive myself if I don't get it" aspect and end up with things I probably won't ever use...once.

I'm still quite new to using the brand and very impressed every step of the way. Chanel quality is worth it to me.

Plus, my hubby is amazing and lets me indulge in my crazy make-up obsession. That certainly helps!

It really is that! I tend to gravitate towards really pale lip colours, but this one is definitely pink and I love it! This and Como aqualumiere are my current favourite lipsticks.

I've never had any issue returning any MAC items at the Bay. I do occasionally get some attitude be it the Bay or the f/s store, but considering the amount of products i purchase and the few that go back, I really don't give a rat's ass if they get snarky with me!

I understand your hesitation with buying Chanel products. I am always like that, and yes, we cannot return anything. But as others have mentioned, it does prevent me from impulse buying most of the time! And I've been happy with just about every item I've purchased (there were a couple RC's I wasn't too thrilled about, but that's about it). You can ask them to apply anything you want to test out, and they're not normally as busy as the MAC counter tends to be, so they'll usually have the time. Plus, Chanel doesn't really do any crazy trendy colours, so chances are, you're not going to bring something home and realize it just doesn't look good.

It's quite honestly the only higher-end brand that I've been this satisfied with.

I just found this so amusing!

I'm glad you love the bronzer too! It really is a quality product. I'm so happy that I got back into the Chanel line. And also glad I gave my word to DH that I would no longer buy any more MAC make-up this year!!!

I'm the same way.

Do you have a crush on George Hamilton?

and he is OLD. Old & Orange

No more MAC this year eh?

I am so pleased with all of my Chanel "treasures". They feel like guilty pleasures to indulge in. Like you, I am very very selective about what I buy. But, I am getting those Coton (with one "T"
smiles.gif
) pads. I hate the ones I use now as the fibers get caught in my eyelashes which is not good when you wear contacts.

ok, any excuse will do

Oh, I never ever buy cosmetics or anything under pressure - ever. I will swatch the same color many times before I decide for sure. But, I agree that Chanel does such wearable classic shades that generally speaking you won't get some crappy weird trendy thing.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I popped by the Chanel counter today and spoke with the SA for a bit. She hadn't met with the regional director yet because the meeting set for May was postponed until tomorrow, so she had no idea what the fall collection would entail. I told her it was really awesome, and asked if I could preorder. She whipped out her pad and started a 'Fall Preorder' List with me at the top!

She also asked if I would be interested in attending a Master Class in July if they get enough people, so I'm on that list, too!

I looked at the quads, and I have to agree with the Demure quad for Emma Watson's VF look.
yes.gif

Oh, and thank you for the compliments on my latest FOTDs. Momma Spy, I think it's the combination of both the GPS and Gazette Grey (used in the crease) that gives the look its depth.

I never buy anything under pressure!! Luckily, my MAs and SAs know me well and let me go home and think/stare at my swatches thoroughly, then I make a call to set my goodies aside or to let them part away!!
yes.gif

If I'm buying other brands than Chanel or MAC, I prefer to risk losing an item, even if it's LE, than regretting it!!

I think that's a good point. We buy more MAC than we may want just because it"s LE and reasonably priced. With Chanel, our decisions are more carefully thought out.

If I had to pick one, that would be Venus!!

Big Bang it's a medium peach with gold and pink sparkle.

Stage Lights was launched on Spring 2007. It's a gorgeous quad, but not neutral and really shimmery. It consists on a really light frosty pink (almost white), a satin-frosty lilly pink, a satin light lavender and a bright violet.

But can't really choose between that and threads, beads, paints, crayons, punches, stickers, fabrics, books, magazines, stamps...

I love anything paper, needle and beading crafts!!
