Hi, I have today received a jar of Deep Blue Green pigment I bought on ebay. The seller is a Powerseller with over 800 feedback and 100% positive, so I assumed would be safe.
I'm a little concerned that it might not be authentic. The code on the barcode sticker on the bottom of the box says it's A52, so if that's right it's an older product and I'm guessing might differ from current ones in some ways anyway. Perhaps someone could advise me?
The first thing that struck me is that the clear label underneath the jar has the colour name, but not the code number. Also the sticker isn't completely transparent like those I've seen on some other jars - it is reminiscent of that 'invisible sellotape', thus blurring the appearance of the pigment underneath it.
The jar has the COLT-AINER III and numbers underneath, and on the inner plastic lid as I would expect, but the lid closes completely with the inner lid in place, and I'm sure I read that genuine ones have a slight gap between jar and lid.
The barcode is a sticker on the underneath of the box, and the name sticker is in the correct place, but all the printing on the front of the box seems to be a little off-centre, off to the left.
The leaflet that comes with it doesn't list the ingredients, and they are not on the box, either, but it does have a warning that it's not for use in the lip area (who would want deep blue green lips anyway?)
Not related to this particular jar, as I didn't have it then, but last night I was trying out some of my colours on the back of my hand. Today I noticed a rash on the back of my hand, which makes me worry that perhaps one or more of those other jars isn't genuine
