MAC Alluring Aquatic Collection (May 22, 2014)

I received Golden today, I really like it! It's hard to overdo and I think it works on my skintone, definitely doesn't look as yellow or muddy as Sun Dipped looked on me. I was gonna say the shimmer is very subtle but it is more prominent in different lighting (@Karrie's swatch is very accurate). It does seem more powdery than Soft Sand, which is the only other regular MAC bronzer I can compare it to.
LOVE the packaging, as expected. Glad I bought it.

I told myself I was just sticking to the lipsticks & glosses but the blushes are so pretty!!!I've never wore blush but these are making me change my mind...I don't wear any foundation or powder, just fill in my brows a bit & throw on a lippie...so do u ladies think just putting on a blush alone would work? I talked to a lady at mac & she said it wouldn't look right without a full face of makeup.

I have an extreme blush collection, I love blush. it's my weakness. I do not wear foundation, concealer, etc. or anything except blush and I wear blush daily. I just started wearing bronzer recently and I notice the blush stays on a little longer so it does help to be on top of something but it still stays on me all day without. if i was going out at night i'd have to reapply but i don't see why that lady would say that unless to just convince you to by foundation.

That is ridiculous! Of course you can wear blush without a full face of makeup.  I wear foundation because I need to even out my complexion (I carry a lot of redness around my cheeks and nose), but I don't think people should wear a full face of foundation everyday if they don't need it, and you shouldn't have to wear a full face of foundation in order to wear blush.  I don't know what that lady was thinking.

I agree! I keep eyeing the greyish color! I need to resist!!! I just ordered a mermaid shirt. It's not all cheery and whimsical like this collection. She's a skeleton mermaid but I thought it was cool. Ha

Thank You! I was torn between this and Aphrodite's Shell. I'm also around NW15. I have sundipped, and I like it (for the odd time I use a bronzer), but I have to be careful with it.

After seeing T's swatches I think I will be getting Mystical, EO, GotS and maybe one face product. Part of me hopes that I don't like the ED bronzers and I can just skip the face stuff all together, but I have a feeling the compact is going to get me.  So I know Golden is the lighter of the two bronzers, but does it also have the least amount of shimmer? 

The shimmer doesnt translate to the skin really, im nc 15 it is perfect for a natural bronzer. However nc20 and darker may nor like it as it is very light, and therefore would not be noticible. Refined golden is much to orange on my skintone

Now I'm reading as much as I can to see whether I need the bigger brush. Maybe not, then I'm down to two things for the collection.

E3-outer edge of forehead, temple, cheekbone, jawline. Then whatever is left on the brush, hit the center of the forehead, nose and chin.

And we're applying the product in circular motions, yes? Or does it depend on the brush? I've never worn bronzer and want to make sure I apply it correctly.

I like to use a 150 or 187 so as to not overdo it, and i just do sweeping motions. The only products i apply in circular motions are moisturizer, primer and foundation. Everything else i sweep.

• Aphrodite's Shell Extra Dimension Bronzer 90% of the swatches look way too orangey yallery warm for me, only a couple look pinkish, so skippers. So sad, i was hoping to like it...
• Golden Bronzing Powder - yeah, for the compact... but it looks sheer enough that it might work on me - LOOOVE the compact

• Submerged Nail Lacquer - MAC nail polish is usually not great, but i love the duochrome color

• 127 Brush - likely
• 233 Brush - Nobody has mentioned anything about the eye brush - anyone?

I thought I lost my Heavenly Hybrid but breathed a big sigh of relief when I found it! So this is GotS, Heavenly Hybrid, & Commotion again.

To me GotS is more muted, HH pinker and brighter, but they are fairly close.

I'm sure someone else posted some better comparison swatches after mine, but I can't lay my hands on them right now.

Wow! Hmm... The swatches of Mystical and Hot Tahiti look REALLY similar. This is making me rethink getting Mystical because I just bought Hot Tahiti a couple months ago.

Is it just me or do all those swatches look crazy red? My glamourdaze looks NOTHING like the color in her swatch! I am still on the fence with Mystical, it looks like so many different colors depending on swatches, which monitor I am looking at, people's undertones, etc. I guess I will just keep stalling until I am sure it is totally sold out everywhere here and then I won't have to worry about it!

I think I am going to order Aphrodite's Shell online and go see the rest in store when I take my sister to get a bronzer in the compact. I might also steal it from her at some point down the road if I don't get one for myself.

I just can't seem to make up my mind about the blushes and lipsticks, so I will have to swatch them myself before I decide. Hopefully we see promo pics for the Osbournes soon (I need to see the MSFs) and I will just skip everything except AS.
