Yes, yes, that's it -- Quick Tease reminded me more of Pop Mode than Jampacked. Thanks for the reminder and welcome!

Live and Dye definitely has more colour to it. Peroxide is very cool, and I suspect quite skipable if you got one off the pale Chill glosses. Not nearly as glittery, though - this is more shimmer than glitter, which appeals to me a whole lot more. For you, I'd say skip Peroxide, as it's not particularly interesting as the lone thing on your lips.

Re: MAC - Brunette Blonde Redhead Collection Discussion (Hair was WN)

So I went to my local Macy's today.

All of MSFs are pretty, so smooth & less shimmer than the others msfs we have known.
drools.gif
I like Brunette (my fav) & Redhead MSFs. Brunette msf is peach-orange for me. it's good for blush. Redhead msf is gold-lite tan & it's good for highlite.

Top knot e/s is another black e/s with purple sparkles. Black tied has new buddy now.
cutey.gif
Deep shade is in the middle between deep thruth & contrast. I didn't pay attention with the rest though.
I want to see Red devil & strawberry blonde l/g but they don't have Red Devil l/g & Strawberry Blonde l/g in stock at all.
ssad.gif
Live & dye is a very gorgeous pale pink l/g. I didn't like the rest l/gs. I'll go to another store this weekend to see red devil & strawberry blonde l/gs. I only like Blow dry l/p, it's kinda neutral coral color for me. It's a sheer, so i had to layer it on my hand couple times. Combination blow dry l/p & live & dye l/g is so gorgeous.

this combination reminds me of elegant-one

I like brush #226.. it's very good for blendling.
So I went home with
brunette msf
blow dry l/p
live & dye l/g
top knot e/s
#226
not bad, huh?

Most of the collection is incredibly dupable, and a lot of what I got I chose simply because it fills a hole in my collection. I could have easily picked out a bunch of perm products in their place, though.

If you take into mind the excitement surrounding this and how gorgeous it is along with the number of permanent dupes to be found, it can serve as a reminder that the perm collection truly is lovely and doesn't get enough attention.

I totally agree about the perm. SO many collection...makes it easy to forget about the things that are already there! But the MSF's...I guess I'll try again. The MA just put it on like bronzer I suppose. No buffing.

I actually didn't get everything as planned, which was just as well, because I am really liking the 214 so I may just need to get that.

Here is my haul and mini review!

Flip - I personally thought the payoff on this was great, and I know it was compared to Evening Aura, but I found it to be a little more yellow gold, less peachy gold than EA from what I remember.

Henna - Yes it's pretty close to Sumptuous Olive, but... it appears a little golder/brighter to me, and that's enough to make me want it because SO looks a little too dark/dirty on my olive skin and above all, I love olive green eyeshadows!

Flip - It reminded me of Seedy Pearl, but having less of a lavender hue and less frost to it. I think this one will make a very interesting pale lid colour.

French Cuff - I can't compare this to mythology because I don't have it, but on me it looks like a mid-tone rose/gold/coppery shade. I really liked this one, it's nice and bright.

Also got Blow Dry (kinda sheer, quite coral), B-Babe (pretty, light-to mid-tone frosty pink, love) and What a Do! (Pleasantly surprised by this, a neutral light tan-pink shade).

Peroxide - Close to many other pale pink lipglasses, but a touch more pigmented and with a nice warm sheen to it.

Live and Dye - As Erine had mentioned, Prrr mixed with Love Nectar. This was a no brainer for me.

And finally all three MSF's!!!
th_DANCE.gif
These were all gorgeous imo. Redhead was the standout for me though. I didn't even swatch Blonde, so can't compare to anything yet, but I swatched Brunette with So Ceylon, and the two are definitely different, with So Ceylon being more of a rosey bronze and Brunette MSF being more on the peachy-orange bronze side.

I passed on Knight, as mentioned by Adina this was very similar to Knight Divine and for now, I have passed on 100 Strokes. It is a very pretty colour that would look amazing with Flip, but it seemed a bit on the chalky side. I need to have another look at this.

As for the brushes, I got the 226 and plan on using my last gc for the 214, which for any of you that own the LM smudge brush, is quite different. It is wider, slightly longer and really firm. I think they're both really great brushes.

I am proud to say the only thing I paid for was the 226 and the rest was on gc's and I didn't have to use my empties, which I can save for something else now that I'm on a....

NO BUY!

where did you go to buy them? Did Yorkdale get it's stock in? I gave up and went to Square One!

For those of you who have yet to see the MSFs for yourselves: the stripes are definitely much more distinct as different shades than pictures I've seen have shown.

I'd take some swatch pictures and such, but the lighting here is crap right now. It wouldn't do much good

I came home with:

100 Strokes
Henna
Redhead MSF

(obviously, I didn't go by haircolor :p)

The MUA used the MSF on me, and it was so sheer and lovely! I am not a blush type girl, but this added just a bit of color! So excited!

Chignon sounds perfect for me now--a dark purple, but sheer enough to be wearable. Quote:

I had a similar idea with the Shadowy Lady quad, but I was also thinking of replacing Shadowy Lady with Top Knot. Smudged Violet would complement it so well!

I simply must try and express how amaaaazzzing the Red MSF is. Just a gorgeous, peachy shimmer that I love. When you see it, you will

it.

I passed on the Blonde MSF because I have Petticoat and it seemed a little reduntant in person.

I left with: Red MSF, What a Do, Live and Dye, 100 Strokes

I agree that the rest of the shadows seemed dupable or didn't have the color payoff I had hoped. I had also planned on getting B-babe, but for me it was just too bold of a pink.

Debating going back for that 214 though!

Thanks Samantha for your report. I was wondering about Quick Tease vs. Jampacked. I have Jampacked and rarely wear it, so I think I will skip Quick Tease. I am off in a few minutes to my counter! I *think* I have decided to get:
Redhead MSF (definitely)
Flip
Red Devil
Henna
100 Strokes
Strawberry Blonde

I'm a maybe on French Cuff, I have to see it.

Does Red Devil have much orange in it? (I'm wondering if I can carry it off with a NW15 skin tone.)

I am waiting for Swan Lake e/s in the mail and I already have Seedy Pearl so I am not sure about Pincurl. But is sounds so lovely. I might get it anyway.
Deep Shade in between Deep Truth and Contrast? I have them both. Next! Flip however sounds interesting and Knight too.
Live and Dye sounds yummy. I am not sure about Peroxide. I may skip it. Strawberry Blonde should come home with me too.
yes.gif

At first I wanted to get all the MSFs but Brunette beeing more on the orangy side makes me skip it. I'd rather buy a backup of So Ceylon because I adore it that much!

The #214 and the #226 complete my list

On me, Red Devil looked very orange. I'm not as fair as you but I'm cool toned, so this lipgloss didn't work for me.

There's definitely orange to it, but I didn't find it overwhelmingly orange. I'm paler than NW15 with cool pink undertones. I brought it home with me.

Ahhh! I called Yorkdale around 10:30 and they said they would NOT have it in today. Fairview said the same. So I drove to Scarborough Town, which isn't too bad a drive because my work is right off the 401. But then a co-worker came over to show off her new lipstick, and I was looking at it thinking, "that looks really familiar". She said it was from the new collection... she was wearing What a Do! and she got it from Yorkdale along with the Redhead MSF!!! WTF? So I was a little annoyed because of the extra distance i went. But everything happens for a reason, because i realized once at the mall that one of my tires was almost flat and DH works in Scarborough so he came to rescue me!!!

And that is my BBR story folks!
