Did you get the other SS colors?

Not yet. I couldn't wait, so I went ahead and B2M'd for one of them. I had originally planned on B2Ming for all 5, but when that 15% coupon showed up I decided to go ahead and get as much as I could with the discount, and save my empties for full-price items. Unfortunately that means I have to wait until Monday to order, which means probably next Friday (at the earliest) before I get my goodies.

It was soooo hard resisting, but fortunately I'd just been to the Coach store and spent a wad, so my wallet was tired!!

Well I only got the items I preordered earlier today. I love Tropic Glow, it's the perfect sheer pink for me. I haven't tried out Solar White or Cool Heat yet but I will let you know the results.

I can't afford to buy anymore until after I get paid-I've picked up shifts like CRAZY so that means a little more money...I might give Warming Trend a second chance. Also they didn't have Gulf Stream in yet, but I kinda want it.

Pompous Blue's description is a punched up aqua with silver sparkle and cool heat is describled as a frosty teal with multi-dimensional peralized pigments. This is taken from the color story pages.

In my opinion pompous blue is a dark teal whereas cool heat is a cooler turquoise. I think that they are two entirely different shadows. If Ernie has not done a swatch of those two yet she might do one for you to compare.

you know me so well!

I'm going to my store tomorrow. I can't wait to check out Warm Chill. It may just be back-up worthy for me. I wear tons of greens. I'm also looking forward to Solar White. So this leads me to an off topic question. I'm NC15, hazel eyes and like I said wear lots of greens and purples and I am looking at either getting Gorgeous Gold or Goldmine. Which do you guys recommend or do I need both? I can't believe I don't already have at least one of these. Thanks

since you wear greens more, i'd say gorgeous gold. since it pulls a bit green, you can definately wear it with green. i like to wear goldmine more with browns, so if you like browns as well, i'd say go with goldmine. go with what you wear more of.

oh hell, get em both!

i just tried it over beige-ing and i got it to show up. it looks very similar to the color in the pan. i just got beige-ing today because i wanted a "universal" shadestick due to the fact that i'm cheap

I am excited to go to MAC this weekend. I am trying to make a list and stick to it. I love seeing how excited and obsessed you guys are..unfortunately my life is in serious shambles right now and MAC is the #1 thing that makes me happy but I feel like a dumb senseless teenager buying it at this point with the way things are.

KikiB they did have Gulf Stream at the U Village store when I was there this afternoon plus with the coupon the shadows were $11.90 w/o tax.

Re: Cool Heat Discussion

I came home today with Cool Heat, Gulf Stream, Solar White and Warm Chill. Cool Heat is almost a dead ringer for Big T. I read it in the thread, but wanted to see for myself. I can't decide if I want to keep it or not. Gulf Stream is very pretty. Solar White = love. I do not have a nice, subtle gold so it is perfect for me! Warm Chill, I am sad to say I am a bit disappointed in it's payoff. I did try it over Pharaoh PP and it really makes a difference! I also bought By Degrees Slimshine - I needed a nice neutral type lippie. Feels nice, looks nice. I want High 90's *so* bad now!

I haven't played with anything yet, but just off the top of my head I'm thinking Cash Flow might work? It's lighter than Moss Scape, so maybe it won't compromise Warm Chill as much. Bare Study should work too, but you may have to layer it on more. I'll let you know if I come up with anything else!

Re: Cool Heat Discussion

I stated in my post above the Pharaoh Paint Pot was *great* under Warm Chill! It really pulls out the warmth without changing it's color.

I'm going by memory on this, because I'm in bed right now! All That Glitters (which is one of my absolute faves) is definitely more of a light bronze-y gold shade, so a lot warmer than Warming Trend. And it's more shimmery. Warming Trend to me looks a lot more neutral and beige in comparison.

Re: Cool Heat Discussion

So I used my 15% off coupon today and i grabbed a Gulf Strem e/s because it looked so pretty. I have to say that I absolutely love this color!! On me it is almost the same as teal pigment, and seeing as how I am completely addicted to that, you can see how I am crazy about this color. I used it as a liner underneath my eyes, with smolder eye khol in the waterline and smudged a little into the e/s and it looks gorgeous!!

Re: Cool Heat Discussion

Thanks Erine, Audrey, damsel and purrtypitty for their swatches today! After 8 hours of class and 3 hours of bookhunting, this was refreshing to get to. =D

I quickly checked up on the collection at the new MAC store at Eaton's Centre (so glad I don't have to trek to the Pro store all the time for certain things!) and looooove Warm Chill! I really wish that Solar White had a bit of pink like it does in the pan cuz otherwise it's just too frosty for me. Augh, it looks so pretty tho. I was so mesmerized by it! Warming Trend I'm definitely okay with using Twillery for, and Gulf Stream subbed by Waternymph. After the swatches I'm waffling on Cool Heat and even Climate Blue... I was going to just use Pompous Blue and Jeweltone but dammit, they're not as pretty!

I tried Turquatic Heat and I'm really liking it. It's different than what I usually use and I can see (smell? catch? waft?) the "warm, sweaty, sexy" notes of it. My husband likes it, more points in favour for TH!

I didn't get anything b/c I didn't have the coupon on me but I'll be going back sometime soon!

Re: Cool Heat Discussion

I just wanted to let you all know that i sprayed Turquatic Heat on my wrist around noon today, and I can still smell it! I've never tried a MAC fragrance before, but i have heard that they disappear fairly fast. But I'd say that TH has decent lasting power, on me anyway. Guess it depends partly on body chemistry, but I'm getting more tempted to get a back-up of this!

I won't have time to get down there more than likely before next weekend, because I have the Friday off and I really should not buy because the VS sale starts on Tuesday and Holly (their manager) is like "You'll be in early on Tuesday, RIGHT?".

Anywhoo, I tried my shadows. LOVE Solar White. Amazing payoff, I love how it's got the pink to it. Definitely will be using this a lot. Then there is Cool Heat. Man oh man I had to try several different brushes to get pretty much ANYTHING on them, so it is NOT a crease colour. The 217 barely picked a thing up and it didn't transfer to skin. However it makes a great liner and the 275 is really the best way to get it on. I'm a bit disappointed but it's better than a couple Lancome shadows I have that take 7 coats to get right. (and then they last forever, no primer necessary)

Cool Heat does look good over Solar White though. I'm not exactly the neatest with my 252, so a little goes out further. It's really cool though.
