also, is it just me or does solar white look like white gold piggie? the MA at the mac store said that they could actually be really really similar.

Re: Cool Heat Discussion

I've been following the discussion from all of you Team Climate Blue members. I am so on the fence with this one. I am picking up all the other Cool Heat e/s and I was going to pass on this one. I'm just not sure where this color would be a preferred choice over Blue Flame. Do you think it might be a better choice to spend the money on CCB Pearl? (I have Soft Ochre pp and UDPP) I definitely look forward to any and all of your suggestions.

I wish the colors would have shown up more true to life. I really hate photobucket, I don't even have my own I just use my friends, that's how much I don't like it.

I really want a nice white base now for Warm Chill! I wish I could run out and get one right now. I still say they NEED to make a white cream paint pot. I would be in HEAVEN.

Now, Gulf Stream on the other hand, is heaven in a pot! I LOVE this one!

See, that really is weird 'cause the one I played with I was iffy on the texture. But the one I got I looove it, it goes on really smooth. So weird.

And the Gulf Stream I played with at the store I swear was a bit lighter it seems, even taking lighting into consideration. I'm okay with that though. I loooove Gulf Stream, it's perfect. Definitely my favorite from this collection.

Hey Kids…It’s Chatty Kathy…Just pull her string!

Does anyone, else, ever start out into MAC, extremely, focused on Launch Days, all excited to begin analyzing the collection, then start the failed duping process; trying in vain to find those featured LE colors? Or if, maybe, possibly, to catch MAC trying put one over on us only to discover, quite suddenly, that you’ve lost all sense of time, space, reality…and reason.
blinks.gif

Whereas, one minute, you thought you were swatching some shadows, you’re now over in the skincare product display, and then, floating, over to the Lippies, until finally, before you know it you’re at the register signing a receipt?

Talk about feeling like a Kid in a candy store with ADD! I was hopeless in trying to reach a solid decision on the Cool Heat collection; as I found myself straying away from getting many of LE Shadows, as apposed to perm line stuff, during my dupe process.
It was that darned Plumage shadow that threw me off…way off into the Fall colors!!!
Can I hear a resounding,“Darn you Audrey!”
tong.gif

Because, you know, Plumage was never, even, on my radar until two days ago?!? Then, of course, you have to get Club to go with Plumage, because they come as a set…right???
th_rolleye0014.gif

Anyways, GlamYOURUs’ review of the collection is just about dead on to my opinion of Cool Heat. Thank You GlamYOURUs! There’s been some really fantastic reviews thus far. This is a, really, strong collection anyway you slice it.
As always, what works for some, may not for others with respect to color payoff. I’ll admit I had I high hopes that, Warm Chill, would be that Fabulous 1960’s Green I’ve been looking for all my life. You know that type of Green that Neely O’ Hara from the “Valley of the Dolls” would’ve been caught in a compromising position wearing.

It’s close…very, very close!
th_rolleye0014.gif

My only real contribution here would be to warn all who are on the fence with Climate Blue because it is the “Kitten’s Mittens”! Yummy!
Don’t ask me why I didn’t leave with a million of ‘em! I'm still, seriously, on the fence with Cool Heat, Warm Chill, Warming Trend, Blue Flame. I haven’t written them off yet.

I kinda look at my combo of Parrot, Gulf Stream, & Aquauert, along with the Reflects Trans Teal & Gold & Turquatic Glitters and feel somewhat contented that I may be able to do something interesting with them. Maybe throw in a little Devine Lime, or UD’s Glitter Eyeliner in Distortion, a kitchen sink and we’re good to go!
th_crazy2.gif

Here’s my Friends & Family haul:

Solar White x 3
Climate Blue (won’t be happy until 3 more find their way to me)
Gulf Stream
ClubPro
PlumagePro (Thanks Audrey! Your commission check is soooo in the mail!)
Sprout Pro
Twinks Pro
Blunt Pro Powder Blush
Prep ‘n’ Prime Skin Base Visage

…And, finally, The California Dreamin’ LE Lustre Lipstick (without Postcard…Shhhhhhh! And, no, I didn’t lift it! )
sneaky.gif

They had a hefty, very full case of these Lipsticks…my God! I seriously hope people are getting these postcards for this Lipstick!!! ‘Cuz that would be a crime!

My question: Is Gulf Stream destined to be the new Parrot?
And…Should I pick up, another, Sprout Pro Palette – They had one left – and I still don’t have Springtime Skipper…yet?

LONG LIVE FRIENDS & FAMILY!!!

I don't know if it would crease for you, but there is CCB in Luna which is white.

thmbup.gif

And you know what? Yesterday, I swatched the living daylights out of Dazzlelight trying to compare it to Solar White!

I came away with Dazzelight casting a more bright pale gold color than Solar White's pale pink gold color. I swatched it on a white sponge and then to the hand. Very subtle though, very subtle.

That was the one shadow I thought was very, very similar.

Below are MAC's descriptions (go figure):

Eye Shadow, Dazzlelight
Shade description: Neutral with silver/copper reflects (Veluxe Pearl)

Eye Shadow, Solar White
Shade description: Frosty muted white gold (Frost)

I don't know how you personally would like Climate Blue - I LOVE it!

CCB Pearl is so so versatile. It can be an eye base or use it to highlight high on cheekbones etc. I use mine all the time

I've honestly never used CCBs in the 8 years I've been using MAC...guess it's time to try! I'm not sure if it will crease on me either. I tend to have drier lids than oily and have more problems with fading than with creasing so I hope they'll work okay on me!

Trust! I was just as surprized as you are! My Hawk-eye spotted them as they were buried in the Palette drawer, and I mean buried. I squealed!

After reading this thread, I'm beginning to think I'm the only one who doesn't like blue/green/teal shadows.
winks.gif
I stopped at the Mac counter to check out the neutral colors in this collection Warming Trend and Solar White. These are easily dupable. While swatched on the hand, you can probably see the difference between the colors but on the eye, I doubt you'd be able to tell.

would you mind doing swatches? especially comparing woodwinked, all that glitters and tan pigment to warming trend. TIA!

TamEva! Awesome haul! Isn't Plumage awesome! It is overlooked all too often, and it is gorgeous! I'll be waiting by the mailbox for that check you speak of

Ya know, I saw on youtube, a girl using the white cream clown makeup as a base for her shadows, and it made them look AMAZING. It really punched up the color, and she said it didn't crease. She packed it on certain places of her lid, heavier than other areas, where she wanted the colors brighter. I am tempted to try it. It is cheap, so if it creases on me, I won't be too upset.

Re: Cool Heat Discussion

i only got cool heat, solar white, and climate blue eyeshadows. the slimshines didn't look as bright as i would liked. also, i swatched cool heat vs. big t. on my skin, big t has more green. blue flame and deep truth looked quite different on me. i can see a lot more purple in deep truth

if anyone's intersted, i also i got 188, 187, 224, 242 brush + 3 paint pots + 2 pigments + 3 shadesticks from the mac store (way to take advantage of the 15% off). and then i went to check out the new sephora in the same mall and bought 3 nars eyeshadows. THEN on my way out of the mall i stopped at the MUFE counter and picked up 2 star powders. and already, i want to go back for 2 more eyeshadows and a few tendertones. oh, and did i mention that i bought all 60 nyx chrome eyeshadows just a couple days ago? see what happens when i'm depressed? me needs to lock up my credit card and throw away the key

My eyelids are just like yours & nothing creases on me, so you may be happy with them. MAC has been showing Luna & Pearl in several of the past & current looks. And, they are in a larger pot so they last a loooong time

Oh, & the other thing about Luna & Pearl, they have this really soft subtle beautiful pearl base to them that makes highlighting with them so pretty.

audrey are you kidding me!? i say that word all the time IRL! i guess i just reserve it for special occasions on here.

i mean seriously! this collection is two days old, and they didn't realize that there are 7 shadow spots on the displayer? and since gulf stream wasn't out that there was a 2nd tester of one of the shadows? i swear, it amazes me how some people get this far in the world.
