I know I do it all the time too, something about - not giving a hoot! If it looks great, work it!

It reminds me...
What’s that ending scene from “Serial Mom” with Juror#8; right before Kathleen Turner’s character, Beverly Sutphin, bashes her head in with the telephone receiver, for wearing white shoes after labor day?

Oh yes:

[Juror #8 is talking on a payphone, when Beverly comes up behind her and grabs the phone from her]
Beverly Sutphin: You can't wear white after Labor Day!
Juror #8: That's not true anymore.
Beverly Sutphin: Yes it is! Didn't your mother tell you?
[She whacks her in the face with the phone]
Juror #8: No! Please! Fashion has changed!
Beverly Sutphin: No... it hasn't.
[She hits her again]

They had a hefty, very full case of these Lipsticks…my God! I seriously hope people are getting these postcards for this Lipstick!!! ‘Cuz that would be a crime!

Gah, I cannot believe you talked them into a California Dreamin', you lucky duck!! You'd make a killing as a lawyer if you could convice juries like that!

Why the heck did they not post looks for this collection on the MAC web site? We have them thanks to the wonderful Erine, but isn't it strange not to include any on the web site for a collection of this size that includes both eye and lip products? If they weren't satisfied with them couldn't they have come up with better ones?

someone had asked this earlier, and this is what i had said. mac usally makes facecharts available for collections that are complete collections, including eyes, lips and cheeks. for smaller collections, they wouldn't do so. were there online looks for cshock (other than the eve looks)? i can't remember. the reason looks were created for cool heat in the first place is because for the first two weeks of every collection artists are supposed to wear these looks. but i find it interesting that people are posting descriptions of what their artists were wearing when they went to purchase cool heat, and not one of those descriptions describes one of these looks that i posted.

Thank you so much Audrey!! I love that, I'm sooo trying this. It costs so little and has great potential since they do need their makeup to last a good long while. I shall try this and Luna CCB for the more pearly effect. I'm all excited now! =)

Re: Cool Heat Discussion

So I did my first look with the cool heat shadows!! GORGEOUS!!!!

I had a little trouble with getting enough cool heat on my lids but that wasn't too much of a problem. It's such a pretty color!! I put Gulf Stream in my crease with Warm Chill over it and slightly above my crease. I know many people have been complaining that it barely shows up but on me you could really tell. I did use a very light application of cash flow pp underneath so that may have helped or the fact that i put it over Gulf Stream. I used solar white as my highlight and inner eye color....soooo pretty!! i loveeee it!!

Gentle Simmer SS is absolutely gorgeous too!! It's a very light nude pink on me with gold shimmer!! so perfect for summer!! im glad that it's been made perm.

Im wondering after looking at everyone elses posts whether i need Climate Blue e/s. It seems like the texture isn't all that great but it's a pretty color!! I really love the look of warming trend but i barely use that shade of brown and i've got woodwinked, satin taupe, jardin aires pigment etc. Is blue flame really similar to deep truth or is it more metallic?? I did see some of the swatches and they seem smiliar but on some people it seems to show up more metallic.

I'll bet the Luna CCB and the Clown Base would really pop the Neon Pigments...as if they needed any help, lol!

Why does Plumage look so ridiculous on me? Everyone seems to love it and I look horrid in it. I find that almost all blues look pretty odd on me. Perhaps it is because I am so fair-skinned. I end up looking like Faye Dunaway getting ready to beat someone's ass with a coat hanger.

Pffft. Fair skin is not an excuse! I'm damn pale (I'm a studio stick NW15, too pale for anything else) and I loooooove Plumage.

Audrey, who seems to have been pimpin' out plumage lately, is fair-skinned, too!

I'd say it's all about how you're using it and what else you use.

Wait... what?? Oh no! Solar White isn't too gold for you? Now I'm second guessing my choice.

I need something not so gold as well. Can you explain your rationing for needing Solar White?

That's probably a good call. I have quite a heavy hand when I'm layin' on the shadows!!!!!!!!! My husband doesn't like it when I wear it because he thinks it looks like he punched me in the eyes!!! What a nerd.

Re: Cool Heat Discussion

Muahaha, I totally just went on ebay and bought the Mehron Clown White. It was only $4.99 with shipping for 2oz so I figured why not! All the online stores I was finding were charging like $8-10 for shipping it was insane!! This seller on ebay has over 15 available I think, so if anyone want to try it out go for it! =)

I hope it helps my Warm Chill problem (haha just realized that is an oxymoron)!! I'll be picking up Luna CCB as well once I go and turn in my B2Ms for Climate Blue. Yay!

Will you post your results once you use it? I might be interested in buying one if you think it works well....

Surely! I'll do an experiment and post my results comparing it to other products and testing it's longevity as well. I know it will make the colors pop but now I'd like to see if it creases or fades so I'll let everyone know as soon as it gets here!

What do you tend to put it with? Even if you're heavy handed, if you use it with something bright, it could look less like a bruise.
winks.gif

For example, it looks lovely with juxt and freshwater: juxt on the inner half of the lid, freshwater on the outer half (with the two blended together in the middle), with a bit of plumage in the outer corner and as liner. Keep in mind, that's just one combo! (And hey, those were the first three MAC shadows I bought for myself!

I hope this makes sense... it is so hard to describe in words. On me (NW15) Femme Fi was yellow. It had a very pale yellow base color. The description says golden cream I think, and that is how I would describe it. Solar White has a white base color with a gold duochrome. It is white for the most part, but when the light hits it, it reflects gold. And for me, there is a difference between yellow and gold. I can wear gold, but not yellow. I think it is because I have alot of pink in my skin. Hope that helps some. It's so hard to put it into words

Re: Cool Heat Discussion

This is my haul for today. I wanted to also get Bare Study PP but they were sold out. I also have not used this concealer but wanted to try it since it has a spf of 35. She put me in NW20 for undereye. I wear NC15 in foundations SFF and SF so I hope this works. I use Lingering in the brow pencil so I thought I would give Brow Set a try in Begile. But I may just have to go back and pick up a couple of brushes while the discount is on.

Solar White 2X
Warm Chill 2X
Gorgeous Gold
Paint Pot Greenstroke
Brow Set Beguile
Fix +
Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer NW20
