MAC - Dare To Wear Discussion

Welp back from work.....what a rough day. Anyway I'll just add my experience about the primers and p/p. I can't use UDPP because I'm allergic and use TFSI. I LOVE TSFI! It works great for me and I almost ALWAYS use a p/p as base over it to get better color from whatever e/s I use. I only use neutral p/p's when I'm using like colors. I have Delft, Fresco Rose, Indianwood, Coral Crepe, Blackground, Constructivist, Rollickin and the sage green one which escapes my mind right now for the name. I also have Coastal scents brand of their p.p in blue and bright pink because I have troubles with e/s in those color ranges showing up. I always need base for blues and bright pinks for some reason....they just don't show up right without them

Otherwise, I've been very happy with the staying power of this stuff. It doesn't smear out of place as easily as other glosses.

Exactly what you said....I have to use less then I normally would for glosses with these special ones. Something I did today was I used Shockholic on my lids with Glamour check in the crease so I thought Gimme That would be great but it wasnt to my liking with the Shockaholic so I dabbed it off with a tissues then put Icescape over that as there was still some of Gimme That leftover. Do you know it made the coolest "new" shade of gloss

. I had the bluish glitters left with some purple pink then the nice pink of Icescape

I swear by using a primer first then paint pot no matter what. I don't use paint pots on the daily basis. Quite Natural p/p has been on my permanent wishlist for awhile!

On topic: I need to start swatching my eyeshadows that I got from this collection!!

Maybe it depends on the brush and your technique?

Since Shock-a-holic is a matte you may need a larger, denser brush, like the 242.

It also depends on where you are placing the shadow.

I like to use mattes in the crease.

Yes- I was using it on the lid. Just tried it in the crease with a stiff pencil brush and it worked a little better.

Duh!!!

It never occurred to me that you could use MAC Matte on the lids!

I just purchased a tube to mattify my lippies and to use in my t-zone!

THANKS!

paint pots can be used alone and do make a difference in applying color for me. when i use them, i don't have to apply as much product to get my color to show up. I prime my lids first with MAC matte or anti chafting gel, then i use concealer, the final step is the paint pots or paint. layering is key for me.

I have an update: Åhléns and PUB in Stockholm don't have the collection in stock so they will not be puting it out tomorrow. NK does and will. The number of DtW glasses is very small. Maybe only 2 of each.

I don't have shock a holic but I do find technique of getting mattes on the brush is key. I use to do a dab or brushing motion with my brush and couldn't figure out why id have to sit and pack it on. Then I discovered lets see if I can describe this good enough- when you put your brush in the eyeshadow push the brush against the bristles ie if the brush is pointing up and handle down push the brush up a couple of times then swipe down. I do this when applying lime on my lid all the time and it helps alot maybe it will help with SAH.

I had a few things, but I got rid of them because I wasn't in love. Maybe they're too mature for me, I don't know. I feel like everything is really serious. I probably wouldn't buy from them even if they weren't associated with Shiseido. I am more inclined to brands like MAC, UD, and MUFE (even though I won't buy them) because they have the huge array of fun shades.

PinkBasset: Still off topic, but is there a reliable list of cruelty-free brands that you use? I'd love to see it!

On Topic: I hope you do get this collection! I am loving the glosses and Sass Grass is

Check out BUAV and Peta, there are lists of companies that test and don't test!

I find that painterly sucks all the colour out of anything I apply over it.. in a way it's too dark.. I find that Bare Study works a lot better, and you very rarely get any shimmer showing through with matte shadows.

I was just going to post this! It kind of sucks how collections are nearly always late... I am hoping that Digi Pop will arrive too. Lucky Green must be mine!

I broke down and got So bad l/g. Such a nice coral!

I tried Dare to wear at the counter and am not quite sure about it - the blue glitter made it look like a kind of violet colour on my lips. Kind of nice, but also a bit strange.
