I have to say, this whole collection has left me feeling as though I'm just done with MAC. Done, done, done.
There are a few permanent products I like (wipes, cleanse-off oil) that I'm sure I will continue to purchase, but the poor handling of the Marilyn collection has really put a sour taste in my mouth about MAC LE collections. I spend a ton of money on MAC LE products, and I've never had a problem getting the items I wanted in the three years I've been a MAC fiend, so this was truly an eye-opener.
The closest counter to me was sold out of the all the lipsticks today. I called the MAC store and the other two counters closest to me, but they all were also sold out. I gave up after that; everything else would be in Dallas itself, where things sell out even quicker. What made me mad is when the girl who answered at the MAC store had the gall to tell me that they were sold out but could sell me "the same products just not in the special packaging." (Honestly, if that was true, I would have gone -- I don't care so much about the packaging, but I was looking for two LE colors.)
All I wanted was Deeply Adored and Love Goddess, so I suppose I need to research what some dupes would be. As I told one counter (which I regret now -- I polite, but it's not her fault), I can take my money elsewhere. I don't mind paying more for other brands. It's MAC's loss if they don't want to manufacture enough stock to sell me -- not only are they not selling me the Marilyn products, but now I'm less inclined to bother with future LE collections.
Oh well. I had Runaway Red in my purse, so I put that on before heading to work, and that made me feel a little better.
I don't need no stinkin' Marilyn lippies!
