MAC - MAC Me Over Discussion

Thanks Shontay! This totally helps me with the Shadesticks! I should just stick to Street Cool like my initial gut reaction was telling me :)

So, if I had kept to my gut instincts, I would've just had Creamy Bisque and Street Cool and i would've been a happy camper. Instead, I was enabled and bought Outre, Cakeshop and Heirloom. All of which suck.

Ok after seeing that everyone is loving evil eye quad I ordered that one too.. I hauled big time with this collection again.. I only Skipped 2 s/s, & all permanent items... Well this was my b'day & hubby got me nothing so It was my revenge.. :D But seriously I am li'l afraid of credit card bill... DH just dropped the bomb that he is inclined towards buying a house so we should switch to saving mode & I am totally not prepared for that... Not able to haul from upcoming collex will break my heart

do we think runaway red will suit an nw15? I've never tried a red lipstick before but I'm kind of tempted by this one. Any advice would be much appreciated! x

AFAIK, the only things you can't get with B2M are items in special packaging -- and MAC Me Over obviously doesn't have that, so your saleslady sounds misinformed to me. :/

I am an nw15 and I am in LOVE with runway red. If you feel you want to tone it down a little, just dab it on lightly since it's your first red. It's going to be my fall/winter red lip! Try it in store first if you can tho since you've never tried red before and see how it looks and feels ( to me it feels like buttery goodness!)

Mac-Guy, I found your Stunner review more than 30 pages back! LOL
Thank you! Gotta make a decision soon.

Sorry, shontay! Hope you'll find some use out of them! I am easily enabled, too.

I agree, Street Cool is beautiful!

I didn't have any problem with the color pay off either. If you like the colors and don't mind the Matte shadow texture, you should definitely check it out.

Grr I just rang up my MAC counter to preorder, and the girl said that they don't have the products yet and she thinks it's going to be delayed! I really hope she's wrong :(

I kind of hope it is delayed a few days, as I don't get paid til thursday!

also I would rather it were delayed and all parts came out together than it came out in stages like it did in the US

did she say how delayed she thought it might be?

Nope, just that they didn't have any stock and she thought they were having trouble with the promo images?? I'm a bit baffled so may ring up my local fs store and see if they know any more!

isn't the 266 a lot bigger than the 263? That might have been part of the reason as well.

263 is synthetic but almost identical to the 266. The other 2 are natural. 208 is quite a bit smaller and coarser. Both synthetic and natural brushes work well with fluidlines. I think it depends on how you want to apply your liner and just your personal preference. If you want to be able to apply liner in a variety of ways then the 266 would be my pick as the most versatile. You can do thick or thin, tightline, wing, smudgey, etc. It might not be the best brush for some of those applications but it does them all well and it also works with powders (wet or dry) and as a brow brush.

from memory, b/c I don't have them in front of me, it is brighter, a lil more pink. the texture is also different. I had problems with heartless and none with this. This is *my* Candy Yum Yum!

How does Runway Red compare to Heartless from Venomous Villains?

Oh wow... now that sucks... Ladies how was butternutty, I got that one, but haven't played with it. I also got Heirloom. I have no problems returning them and saving that money. LOL

Shontay, I hear you on the shade sticks. I got Cakeshop and I LOATHE it. Its sheer, gritty, dry, ornery, and utterly unusable. It's going back.

For some bizarre reason it swatches sort of ok on my hand but doesn't work at all on my eyelids.

I think it might just be Debenhams being stupid, because I phoned up my freestanding store and they say they are launching it early aka tomorrow! I'm so excited, I have the 226, Avenue, Stunner and Carbonized put to one side for me :)

good to hear we have the 226!

I was really tempted by carbonized but I swatched all my browns and decided I don't need it

I think I'm getting the 226, 211, stunner, mythical and runaway red

I totally thought I was only going to get the 226 lol.. :/
