Re: Neo Sci-fi, Solar Field, And Future Earth

I bought Pleasureseeker and was really disappointed by it. It looked nice in the store and when I got home I couldn't see it. It was a total waste of money. I was bummed but I figured I bought it so I had to suck it up and use it. So, today I was rushing and didn't have time to do a lot. I put on foundation, bronzer and mascara and threw on the lipstick. I WAS SO WRONG. It's beautiful. I saw it today out in the sunlight and then again in several store fronts and mirrors and it's just a beautiful soft neutral peach. I am so glad I bought it...and it's sold out on the mac website so if I am glad I didn't miss out.

I bought Plasma Blu because I love blue nail polish so much and while I don't have anything that is an *exact* dupe, Orly's It's Up To Blue and Sinful Color's Love Nails are pretty similar. That being said, I still love it!

Re: Neo Sci-fi, Solar Field, And Future Earth

Ladies, I have a question: when I was at my Nordies counter this past weekend, I wanted to see how different Magnetic Fields was from Satin Taupe or Smut, so I swatched it on my hand. At that moment an MA came and asked me if she could help, to which I replied that I was just checking the difference. She tells me that it IS Satin Taupe and that it's just under a different name and texture, but the color is the same. I asked her whether the eyeshadow that I just swatched on my hand was Satin Taupe or the eyeshadow Magnetic Fields was Satin Taupe... She said Magnetic Fields was Satin Taupe... Did anybody else get this response from their counters/MUAs or from anyone else? I mean I was already passing on this e/s but isn't funny when they confirm it??

I know what you mean, when my package first came I put it on and was like omg this is literally the color of my lips, what a waste (at the time i had no makeup on). then i tried it out when my face and eyes were done up, as well as hair fixed up good and i fell in love with it

it's now one of my favorite lipsticks, and i don't need a mirror to apply it like other darker colors.

No, Magnetic Fields is definitely NOT Satin Taupe. MF is a much darker taupe.

that's not true. i have them both & they do not look alike. they may look "similar" in the pot because magnetic fields has silver bits of glitter in it. when swathed you can see that magnetic fields is a blackened brown and satin taupe is a frosty "taupe."

I think X-Rocks would look amazing on your skintone! Can't help you with Pink grapefruit though.

Although I didnt buy it, just wanted to pop in and say that Solar Riche looked an awesome sunny blush on my NC30-ish skin. The MA tried it out with a 168and I thought it'd look harsh with brown stripes across my cheeks but it actually looks quite subtle and gives nice colour. I'm passing b/c I have Eversun and it looks similar but in case it helps anyone with SR!

God I hate it when MAs talk out of their ass.

I was in a week or so ago and asked if the volcanic ash exfoliator was for use on the face and was told no that it was for use on the body. I then told her of people who had used it on their faces. She told she hadn't heard of anyone doing that and that she was going home to try it. I looked on the MAC website a few days later and it clearly says it's for the face AND body.

For those asking if solar riche was lighter than refined golden....I thought it was. To be honest, I had refined golden before, and my MA put solar riche on me yesterday and it seemed lighter but maybe he applied it light...

Erine, can you confirm which is lighter?

Pink Grapefruit is absolutely stunning! It would look gorgeous on you. I seriously doubt that you would be disappointed if you got it. I love it!

they're about the same. the main difference is that solar riche is warmer. its more pink based, while refined golden is more yellow based, which can make one look darker/lighter than the other.

I was gonna get Fix+ today, but the MA there said i should jus go with the charged water instead since they exactly like fix+ but only better because of all the minerals. is this true?

its not better, just different. like fix+, it moisturizes, and can be used after cleansing and before moisturizer, before and after makeup, and thruout the day to refreshen your makeup. the main difference between the revitalizing CW and fix+ is that the RCW is ionically charged water that is soaked in brazilian diamonds, which helps to restore minerals into the skin, and penetrates deeper into the skin than fix+ does.

fix+ is used in the same manner, but is just spring water with added vitamins and antioxidants like green tea and vitamin e. it also helps to calm the skin because of the cucumber and chamomile, and helps protect the skin with caffeine and green tea.

so basically, the CW restores certain elements into the skin (depending on which CW-there's 3 different ones), and fix+ is gonna calm and protect.
