It is precisely why I like colours like these. With my pigmented lips and strange skintone, I can almost never find a pale colour that I can wear on it's own, i always need to combine a liner with a lipstick. Plus, colours as light as Sunsonic are also a great way to change up other lipsticks. For me, it's always part of the fun to find different combinations. Today I tested Sunsonic over Lure, which looked pretty on my hand. Have yet to try it on my lips though (won't test lipstick on my lips at the counter). I like the really pale lipglass shades for the same reason.

So I finally got to try on my NSF stuff today. I am quite pleased with everything. The eyeshadows are kinda boring as in that they create a very neutral eye, but still really pretty. Femme Fi was perfect, it's close to the colour of my lid, but just really evened it out and gave it a nice soft sheen, much more subtle than Ricepaper but somewhat comparable. I like it because it doesn't ended up looking too white on the browbone the way 90% of highlight shades do. Time & Space was great, not too coppery like many bronze-y shades look on me and the right depth and as already mentioned, looked amazing with Magnetic Fields. Magnetic Fields is by far my favourite dark blackish/brown shade, simply because it has the best texture compared to sooo many others that MAC has put out. I also went to the counter today and picked up Evening Aura and X-Rocks. I'm NC25, olive skintone for reference. My review so far!

Reading this made me think of Apres Sol, which I love using in the summer.. I think it was seriously under appreciated when it came out but it'd be awesome to see it's return in another summer collection. I think it'd go well with NSF looks too.

pretty much! i swatched both of them on a piece of paper when i was at the counter today. they are the two vertical bright orange lines on the top right corner

d-oh! i KNEW i forgot something... i totally forgot about VAE until i started reading this thread

now i think of it, i don't think they even had it out on display at my counter. hmm... better go check it out tomorrow

Some counters haven't got it yet. I know that my counter didn't have it as of Tuesday, but we've had everything else for like a month.

And someone correct me if I'm wrong, but Electro is a fairly sheer orange lipstick, whereas Morange is a high-coverage amplified cream with a dewyness but no glossyness to it.

i agree. the textures are different, but colors are very similar, so i figured that i could mix morange with a clear gloss instead of buying electro (too many mac collections coming out and no money. plus, they are openning a new sephora in Ottawa TOMRROW, so a good chunk of my money is going there)

Okay so I finally went over there and got a makeover which I wasn't happy about at all. Like always, Margo did my makeover but this time she didn't get to play around with this collection beforehand like she normally does so she had to put a look together as she was doing it. She had little knowledge of the products. I was educating her on them. lol

She has been absent for a while being that she is ill.

She did the smokey eye with black ore solar bit over a paintpot and cream base which creased on me in 5 minutes! Now that I am home after an hour, half of my lid on both sides is missing color! It creased like crazy. Ugh it looks so digusting that I can't even post this in the fotd section where I normally post my makeovers. With that being said, I was not pleased at all!

Moving on...

I checked out the entire collection, I like Electro even though it is flamin bright! But it can be sheered out nonetheless so I did B2M with that.
I did buy the solar bits in black ore and bronzescape ONLY so that I can play with them at home and come up with something that will make them stay put and no fallout. I also bought time & space e/s which is a gorgeous lid color. I wanted to buy the rest of them as well but I had to keep my trip to Vegas in mind. If I have enough money next week, when I get paid again, I will go ahead and buy them. If the solar bits are not to my liking, I will return them and just get the shadows.

All the lippies were just bleh. I didn't think pleasureseeker would show up on me but it did and its pretty but not something I would go crazy over. I didn't try the darker ones and I am not into dark lippes. I can definitely see them on darker women though. The lipglasses were alright. I do want to go back and get pinkgrapefruit, its very pretty!

The nail lacquers are meh as well as NYC has dupable colors.

Bronzers were nice but I didn't need them as my BPBs and MSFs give me the sunkissed look anyway.

Hmm what else...

O yeah the blushes were nice! But since I have so many, I refrained from purchasing them.

They didn't have the VAE!! arrgghhh None of the MAs have tried it EXCEPT ONE. She said she liked it initially and she has normal skin so after she washed it off she felt her skin was so smooth and soft. But a day later she broke out. She says a little goes a longgg way and its pretty harsh on the skin. I would only use it once a week. So there ya go. I might just get one now. lol

Imo, the shadows were the only highlight of this collection for me.

hey bunny, did you see the displayer for future earth? am i wrong or was there two spots for the VAE? what's up with that? that makes one less of an already limited product for us to sell. just curious.

btw, we still haven't gotten our VAE in and only have 5 charged waters to sell. we never got em in the last time it launched.

I went to the counter by my job during lunch today to make my Neo Sci-Fi purchase and in real life, the collection was very underwhelming. I didn't fall in love with anything in person.

The shadows were nothing I don't already have in my collection (and I already have Expensive Pink). I wanted to like Evening Aura but when I swatched it on myself, it just showed up as shimmer (I'm NW20) - even when I went back in to the pot a few times. There was no real color payoff at all. So, I opted to just get Time & Space.

I also got X-Rocks blush which is pretty. But yeah, everything else was so-so in my opinion.

The counter didn't have VAE in stock, I've been put on a list and will get a call when they have it in. They also didn't have Pleasureseeker in stock, the only lippie I was interested in... so I may go back for those.

Erine yeah I noticed that too! 2 spots for the VAE?? That was weird. Maybe the mask was supposed to come out with this collection and they took it back. Idk just a wild guess.

Looked like there were 2 places for the VAE to me...and my counter was also missing them.

that's kinda what i was thinking too. if there was a mask initially, i would have assumed that they would've mentioned something about it at update, like that it was a planned product and why it wasn't launching.

I thought the same thing about Electro...it was so so pretty sheer! I ended up getting Missy slimshine instead, B2M.

On the VAE...that's why I ended up only ordering one. I want to see how my skin will react to it first before I hoard

Electro is very pretty but its nothing like Missy. I love Missy for a more peachy color. Yeah I only ordered one mask. Yeah the MA wasn't happy at all b/c her skin went back to normal the next day. lol She says it acts like a temporary fix on her skin when she washes it with the VAE. And she tried different ways of using it but nothing worked for her. O well...

I broke down and bought my third VAE!! I love this stuff!! I hope that will do me for a long time.
