Me, too! I've got normal skin and I've found a routine that works great, so I hope this stuff can just squeeze right in occasionally. But like you, I exercised restraint in ordering just one to see how it works for me.

btw, we still haven't gotten our VAE in and only have 5 charged waters to sell. we never got em in the last time it launched.

hmm... maybe it has something to do with the VA mask everyone was talking about.

a lot of us saw the picture, but never heard anything about it (and ppl kept asking about it, remember?). maybe the extra place was for the mask and they decided not to release it after the displays were made. that would explain everything

Okay time for some pics of the lil makeover today...
I love Margo and her skills <3 but I think this was her not so great attempt at my makeover. lol I know she felt bad too b/c I could tell by the look on her face. She did tell me ahead of time though that she hasn't seen the collection and that her and I were both viewing it for the first time (she has missed work b/c she's been ill) At least she tried, right? And took the time to do it for me even though I missed my apt. lol I think she had the concept right but just these darn solar bits are fucking annoying. Pardon my potty mouth but look at this crap...lol (I feel like cursing today, can't you tell?)

For the last hour, I have been playing around with them on my hand while I am posting. Now my keyboard looks like a damn disco ball
th_LMAO.gif

But I have found that these lil suckers will work alone better than with a damn paintpot or cream color base. Weird right? And anything you use with these will lose its color and effect. I tried to swatch these over Cash Flow p/p and it totally washed the colors out. Damnit, Im gonna play some more...

Wow that is some serious creasing! Maybe since they have that "creamy" texture to them already, a paint pot or shadestick might make it more creamy thus creating all the creasing LOL that sounds like a weird rhyme!

You still look great in the pics!!!! I really love the eye make-up. I guess we all gotta find some good ways to make these Solar Bits work!

EDIT: Now that i looked at the pic again, it looks like the Black Ore is "sanding" off. You know if you're at the beach & your skin is wet and you get sand on it and it dries up but is still stuck to your skin? Thats the look i'm getting! I guess they would have more staying power on their own!

What is ironic is that I have never had anything crease on me before bc/ my lids are normal, neither dry or oily.
th_dunno.gif

And that creased within minutes! But my guess is that it wasn't the solar bits alone. B/c I have them on my hand, and its pretty warm in my room and it hasn't creased or lost its effect nor color. My guess is the cream color base. I don't have one b/c I have paintpots that do the job. So I have never experienced this before.

But I do remember Margo using luna on me when she did my Naughty Nauticals makeover and she applied a paintpot with luna and mutiny on top and it did crease a lil, after a hour or so. So my guess is that its the cream color base not liking me.

I think using Solar Bits alone or under UDPP or TFES will do the trick! No paints, no cream color bases no nothing!

Not only am I sexually frustrated, MAC had to add to my frustration as well.
girl_devil.gif

The only reason my eyes look semi decent in the last pic is b/c you can't see the crease and the pic is taken afar than a closeup. But let me tell you, it ain't cute in person.

I'm so on the fence about solar bits. I stopped into my MAC store today because I was in the mall and it was the first time I ever played with solar bits in real life. I was playing with scatterays and it was such a gorgeous gold I wanted it so bad. All the MA's were totally busy and not even looking in my direction even though I was standing there trying to make eye contact with one for TEN minutes then got frustrated and left. Now that I see that creasing effect they have, it's giving me second thoughts. Even though I was maily gonna use it for all over glow with a 187 brush for nights out. I'm sooo confused!!! OMG and I also fell in love with sunsonic l/s!!!! I still want VAE but I NEED money for cool heat not to mention vacation and my bank account is running low. Somebody shoot me.

No no don't let my pics scare you away! These work ALONE. Believe me. Its still on my hand for a few hours with no p/p or cream or any base and its still vibrant as when I first swatched it!

Now I know why it was always emphasized to use them in 2 ways: Lightly brushed with a 224 over the bits for a flush of color or broken down with a brush like a 217 or 239 for more impact. Nothing was said to use bases or a MM. no wonder they are bigger and gritty. Its purpose is different than pigments.

If the artists are busy or haven't noticed you, don't stay hiding or waiting for them to approach you. We are trained to immediately greet and talk to customers, but if we haven't noticed you yet, why wait until we do. You should have gone up and asked one for assistance. There's no shame in that right? And also, no retail associate appreciates being stared down by a customer! Approaching the artist yourself is okay to do. =)

both have caffeine that act as an anti-irritant and wake up the skin. all CWs lack the chamomile and cucumber that's in fix+ and include different ingredients that affect the color/fragrance/benefits of each one. RE CW has a green tea and citris scent and includes diamond powder, from brazilian diamonds, which helps restore the skins minerals.

Oh thank you so very much

would one be better for a skin that gets some what oily durning the day? Thank you again your so awesome!!! I wish you worked at my Mac counter

I used my solar bits over my shadow the other day and they did fine. I just used my fingertip to brush them on lightly to get the sparkle I wanted. I didn't have any fallout or creasing problems.
GlamYOURUs---I have a feeling the real problem was the CCB.

Yeap. I agree. I think it is the CCB. I almost bought one too. lol Thank God I didn't!
But Solar Bits are still harder to work with b/c of the fallout. When she out it on me it fell all over my cheeks, arms and shirt.

They work alone imo.

aw, thanks!

but, how do you know that i don't work at your counter?

hahaha jk!

sadly, neither fix+ nor any of the charged waters help with oily skin. there purposes are as a moisturizer, skin refresher, makeup finisher, and to replenish minerals and vitamins to the skin.

basically, you can judge it on the scent if you want. i think the renewal defense (which i use on sunburns) smells like fruit loops.

Definitely try using your finger for them. When I used a brush---there was crazy fallout---but when i used just a tiny bit on my fingertip, I was able to control it a whole lot better and did not have any fallout.

Thanks for that advice, I just don't want to be a nuisance and interrupt someone because everyone was doing makeovers (it's prom season!!) I felt like they were purposely looking me over because they were busy, so I was trying to wait until someone was available. I wasn't frustrated at the artists, I was just frustrated that it was so busy.

Yeah I used my finger to swatch it on my hand instead of a brush. Next time, Im just gonna use it as a wash of color on the lids with my fingers. I mean its that vibrant that you wouldn't need anything else other than eyeliner and mascara. lol

OH NO!!! I was just about to ask about this. I know its "non acnegenic" and all, but many products I have used claim this and yet I still manage to break out from them [my skin sucks!]. I guess this is good for my wallet but damn I wanted this so bad after hearing all the raves!! My skin is way too acne-prone to risk this!! Thanx so much for letting us know!

Re: Neo Sci-fi, Solar Field, And Future Earth

Since it is a skin-care item, I don't think it would be too much trouble to ask for a sample jar of the Volcanic Ash Exfoliator. Use it for a few days and see if your skin can handle it. =)
