This is exactly my problem, well, mostly my chin but I've had several foundations (not just MAC) break me out, so I do consider myself fairly acne-prone. Of course, all this mention of break-outs was made after I ordered mine, so maybe I'll use it elsewhere! (It just might end up being Volcanic A$$ exfoliator for me afterall, just kidding!) After all the stuff I've used the last few months as prescribed by a derm, I'm just not going to risk it either.

the Solar bits are cute once they actually stay on your face

Hence why they repromoted that 239 because that's about one of the better brushes to hold them, that or the 217

Also i just wanted to make another statement...that Volcanic Ash Exfoliator...boy that stuff stinks at first but whew @ my face...i feel like i been scrubbing my face on beauty rocks

thats what made me fall in love with the solar bits. they are so gorgeous and low maintenance. on days that i dont feel like doing full on eye-makeup i would just pack on some bits, apply mascara, brush some on my cheek bones and im good to go!!

you won't be a nuisance, as long as you don't cop an attitude. just say something like "excuse me, but is there someone that can help me?" if you're polite, which it sounds like you, there won't be a problem. it sounds a bit unorganized of your counter to not have an artist or two that was working the counter. we only do one appt. and hour. that way there is atleast one person working the counter at all times. if there is a walk-up, the one working the counter takes the walk-up, but is the first to step away everytime a customer comes up, and the walk-up gets put on the backburner. that way regular custies get helped. it doesn't sound like your counter manages busy days well, and its unfortunate that that caused you to walk away emptied-handed. hopefully next time you'll have a more positive experience.

Yeah, they are usually very helpful but this was my first time being there on a busy time, like I previously stated the dreaded prom season lol So I was also unsure of how to handle the situation but thanks for all your advice!!

That sounds like my counter in the UK. There are always tonnes of MA's working but they are always all doing makeovers at the same time, it's rare that someone is walking around to serve. I always stand at the counter until someone notices me!

those other colors are all yellow-based, and femme-fi isnt'. femme-fi, to me, is a more intense version (due to the finish) of shroom/shore leave. you need solar heat no matter what! its a gorgeous color that doesn't have dupes being released often.

cosmic is more yellow, and sime & space is more reddish.

i depotted my NSF shadows (and both blushes) last night. the shadows look so pretty in a quad together. very bronze-y and summery.

So I went to MAC today and I got my neo-sci fi stuff .Two of the items I got were Phosphor nl and Plasma Blu nl that I had put on hold from when I was there last week looking at the collection.One of the MA's told me that they had only received 3 each of the nls so that's why I did that and damn was it ever a good thing that I did!!

My MA told me they had a swarm of people in when they opened and they snapped up those 2 colors right away and that one girl even got her to sell her the testers!!The vae did not come in yet at my counter because MAC was having problems getting it from wherever it comes from but should be there in about a week.Also she said that there would be a limit of 3 vae to a customer due to people potentially selling it on ebay.She said that she will put 1 aside for me and call me when it comes in.She is THE best and nicest MA ever.Just wanted to share.

Those of you who are having problems with fallout using Solar Bits, I tried using other brushes wet and dry with tons of fallout.

However, when I used the 242 brush damp, there was no fallout at all- NONE!

The effect was fantastic.

I got best results when using Too Faced Shadow Insurance as a base, however.

Lasted all day long- beautiful.

Here are some photos of me in solar bits - the day I discovered no fallout.

(note to moderator- all of these measured within specktra limits, but if there happens to be a problem, please let me know and I will be glad to fix it - thanks!)

it could be close. sci-fi-delity is a more of a burnt red, and the gold flecks show up more then they do in solar plum. i was hopingi had a swatch of solar plum in my update book fromthat collection, but i don't. that way i could've take a pic of both swatches side by side.
